…As far as I know not one Soviet killer in this, and their countless other killings, ever faced any justice. Think about it.
Communism was (and is) morally equivalent to Nazism, but this is a heresy to academics who tolerate communism and embrace Marxism. Therefore we are socially conditioned to believe that communism was (is) not “that bad,” and as an alternative to American capitalism, a necessary evil (there are many of those in neo-Marxist paradigms, starting of course with themselves).
This also shows up in the widespread tendency to label political correctness as “fascist” when it is clearly communist in its origins and intentions. Fascists were indeed anything but politically correct.
But, I guess the commies get a free pass since they never totally lost a war, they just shrank back from the stage into semi-obscurity. Of course they never really went away nor did they change, they just evolved. Canada has a whole social class of them, most of whom will live out their lives and go to their graves without once realizing or certainly acknowledging what they are and what that means. But it does explain the mania for finding neo-Nazis — this is the private hobby of communists, who need to feel morally superior to somebody, anybody, to fill a vast void in their spiritual lives.

A Polish fisherman I worked for in 1969 and who had defected told me the Poles were certain the Russians,not the Germans,had done it.
I heard the Soviets deny,deny,deny,as they always do, until the end of that F***ing society finally brought out the truth.

Funny thing about these fellow travelers is that they are too stupid to see that when they get their wish it will result in their extermination. I don’t think there is a single example of a Communist takeover where the enablers in the takeover were not murdered.
It seems they always become disenchanted at the results of the change and are a danger to the new administration.
Stalin’s paranoia was staggering – i remember reading a book ‘Modern Times’ by Paul Johnson years ago. Anyway he states during the Spanish civil war a horde of soviet secret police were sent over to kill a horde of their own operatives. Then the returning horde was wiped out by another horde then they themselves were killed.
Another story was that Stalin had a red light installed when he gave speeches – this was the signal for people to stop clapping. People were petrified of being seen as the first to stop clapping – otherwise they’d clap endlessly.

The reason for the Marxist/Leninist hatred of the Nazis is that the Brown Shirts hunted down and murdered thousands of their bretheren in pre WWII Germany.
The National Socialists were fully aware that those parasites were of no use.
It’s also the reason the useful tools of the left are trained to throw the epithet Nazi around whenever they are faced with opposition…. it has simply become a reflex …. and you can tell how uninformed …. unintelligentand insecure one of them is by how quickly and often they toss the “Nazi” label around….

Gunney99 has it right. This is exactly what happened in the Soviet Union after the Civil War was over.
It would be great to discover the fate of some of my relatives. One of my great uncles, some of his sons and his son-in-law are buried in the mass grave near the city of Orenburg, but the fate of the others is unknown. They just never came back.
It is also somewhat disconcerting to say the least that some trolls visiting SDA appear to want or support either Lenin or Hitler’s methods of governance.

The difference between the Nazis and the Communists was if the Nazis arrested you and found out you were innocent, they would let you go, the communists would shoot you anyway.
larben, there is now a monument by the mass grave near Orenburg and the trees that were planted to hide the grave now have a plaques attached to them with the names of people that are buried there.
When I read the posts of BTJ, Davenport, mouthy and others I see labour camps and concentration camps.

Have you ever seen the interviews with KGB-defector Yuri Bezmenov? He specifically addresses the exact point you made, and he said the KGB absolutely considered the “useful idiot” leftists to be the most dangerous ones after revolution was initiated.

The detailed report on the Katyn Forest is in the National Defence Headquarters library. It is an emotion-searing read, with illustrations that are not pretty. The investigation and autopsies were performed by the Germans with neutral observers to clear the Nazi conscience, not that they had much either!

In the 1990s I acquired copies of family group photos taken in the Soviet Union in the 1950s and 60s. There are a number of old women, one old man, some younger men who are sons of the old women and their wives and their children.

Only one correction Peter. The demise of the Communist guerillas in the Greel civil war was the first decisive defeat of a Communist insurrection. The Communist party was illegal for a while until they were granted amnesty decades later, and now Greece has a Communist party that’s about as useful as an asshole right here (points to elbow).
To me that’s just as if Germany allowed the Nazis to legally operate there today…a huge betrayal and criminal whitewash of their past crimes.
