The doctor is a member of the Ismaili muslim branch of the oppressed Shia minority in Pakistan who apparently didn’t realize some drug company “detail man” named Moe from the Sunni(?) side of the street can offer you a far different deal than you have been used to if they put their minds to it. Whether any part of the allegation is true matters little. The doctor is marked for death if big bribes to permit him to flee the country aren’t forthcoming.

It must be hard living in a society where you’ll get into horrible trouble for dissing anything connected with the name “Mohammed”, and practically everybody is named “Mohammed”.
I knew a Pakistani who was in Canada for one year and then going back. He happily called his son Mohammed while here but said that he would have to use his son’s middle name on return to Pakistan as some of his brethren would consider it sacrilege to call a small boy Mohammed, even if it was part of his name. And this was a reasonable guy who liked a beer now and again! Seriously screwed up religion.

So if your name is Muhammad, it would be blasphemy to throw out anything with your name on it. I guess you have to have a special shrine in your home to keep everything from your kindergarten art work to your previous position’s cards.

How can one commit blasphemy against that which is not God?
Mohammadans clearly worship the Big Mo in a way that we Christians do not worship Jesus the Christ (whom we believe is God Incarnate).
For instance, we don’t care about Jesus’ toilet habits (and would think anyone unbalanced who did), but it is very important to Mo’s worshippers to know how he took a dump.
I know several Ismaili muslims. They’re the only ones who do seem to have their heads screwed on properly. (Nenshi, our new mayor is Ismaili). Which probably explains why they are targeted in Pakistan.

I am no lefty and most certainly no big brain, but I think I can ‘splain.
Christians are primarily white folks = Satan
Muslims are primarily brown folks = the current popular skin tone in accepted circles.
It’s that stupid as I see it.
Funny how many Muslims try to change our society the moment they get off the plane (or boat lately in Canada). You’d think they’d wanna steer clear of us Infidels with our morally corrupt and decadent ways, yet they come by the thousands and abuse our kindness and tolerance while they offer western society nothing.
Very soon , since our politicians don’t seem to get it , the people will make their will felt and since noone is listening the energy required to “jumpstart” history again will be such that our governments will be powerless to stop it once the momentum builds to the critical point.
The only ray of hope I see lately is Europe’s slow but sure swing to conservatism and some cases unfortunately extreme conservatism (which helps noone in the end).
Muslims , the west is waking up , I’d think about booking soon for the places in the world where people think as you do.
