Lars Vilks, a Swedish artist currently threatened by the Religion of Peace was supposed to be speaking in Ottawa tonight. I was registered and hoped to provide a write-up of the speech this evening, but alas, this event was canceled due to “poor sales and security concerns.
It seems it is getting difficult to host any kind of controversial event at all in Ottawa these days.

Ottawa is a typical city within a nation so thoroughly hollowed-out from 40 years of multiculturalism, that a confident culture of Muslim immigrants with, at most, 5% of the population, have succeeded in intimidating the institutional power elite into enforcing nonexistent Islamic blasphemy laws. Did the Islamists, in their wildest dreams, ever imagine that it would be this easy? And we think that we are fighting this by sending a couple of thousand brave soldiers to Afghanistan for a few token years of nation building! The battle is here and it starts with free speech.
Ottawa, its ruling elite and Universities all seemed wedded to a radical branch political correctness, social engineering and denial of freedom of speech – it makes one wonder who really controls the country.
What it amounrs to is the police (and by extention, the government) will no longer protect your rights to free speech or expression from violent retards.
The violent retards rule and the police are actively aiding them by refusing to protect our civil liberty if they think they may have to confont some loony violent fanatic who wants to attack us for criticizing ‘loony violent fanaticism’.
Interesting moral paradox we live in courtesy of our social engineered police state – they will not protect you or your rights from violent retards but they will arrest you for defending yourself from retard violence. Obviously now you can’t even call attention to retard violence.
Not too many cultures/nations can live under these repressive conditions without revolution breaking out.

This is a pretty effective technique, really. Just have the cops restrict private and/or volunteer security to the point where it becomes suicidal to have the event, and charge too much for off-duty police.

I’m not surprised that those that were supposed to provide security bailed on this. They’re not so far removed from the same insurance providers that formerly covered people or events based on the chances of having to pay out funds. Like that church in the US south that had threatened to burn a koran and had their insurance cancelled and their mortgage called.
If any event can’t provide insurance, than that event cannot be held. Not on public property, and it could be difficult on private property. So be forewarned for any ties between those that would threaten our freedoms, and those that would provide insurance for same. Remember those 6 degrees of separation? I see only 2 degrees here.
