Gary Burtless, an economist at the Brookings Institution, says the Obama administration proved it wouldn’t cave to creditors’ demands. Avoiding bankruptcy would have been a better outcome, he says, but by telling the creditors who held out for more money that the government would accept bankruptcy, “The administration showed that it wasn’t going to be the first to blink.”

Tenured Professors . . . poster kids for risk takers, role models for entrepreneurs.
No wonder Obuma is doing so well.
He did say he was sorry… /sarc
Yes, well at least I can find a bottom rail drip cap in aluminum for my front door so it doesn’t leak anymore, courtesy of Home Depot…
Were I an American, Bernie Marcus would get my vote!
The Obama-Nation(tm) are in need of Kate’s “Prof Darwin in the Drawing Room with a Clue Bat”.

All one has to do is take Obama at his own word in his second autobiography when he described his few months in a private sector law firm as working for the enemy. This deceitful President has nothing but contempt for the private sector but that contempt is lessor for larger, particularly unionized firms. He despises small business as he despises everything about Capitalism. It will take decades for America to recover from the damage caused by him and this Congress which ends in five weeks.
On the bright side, if McCain or another progressive Republican (RINO squish) had been in the White House, the galvanization of the conservative elements including the Tea Parties would not have been as much a factor for this mid-term. For any real long term good to come out of this election, the Republicans have not only got to get used to becoming the party of “no” but they must get used to becoming the party of repeal, roll back, deregulate and eliminate.
the Obama administration proved it wouldn’t cave to creditors’ demands.
This ensures that the creditors, who were investors, have decided that America is too great of a risk under this administration to invest in.
Investors expect a return on their money or at least to get as much of their money back as possible when their investment goes south.
Why these Marxist acaDEMics wonder why stock market investment doesn’t improve should be an academic study in cognitive dissonance.

Time to make another poll go horribly wrong.
Yes! Follow that link and vote on Trudeau!
The “positives” are currently leading with 52%.
Balance is needed!
That poll only just started (less than 100 total votes cast currently). Could Kate, or another mod, put this up on the main page, please?
The new media online gets better by the day.
This dialog about Obama would have been covered up as short as 2 years ago.
Twenty years ago it was CNN or nothing. For World events , the Dan Rather brigade on the other channels.
The great silence the Old Media would use to kill stories is dying a long but inevitable death.
Truth like this, is leaking like a broken dam into our homes , where before it was a matter of trust. Now we verify. The people not some talking lips.
