New Obama Strategy

… insult 42 percent of likely voters:

Fox News pushes “a point of view that I disagree with. It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world,” Obama said.

  1. Someone should tell him that he’s the President of the United States and not an f’ing baby. Figured he would’ve learned his lesson from the first time he attacked Fox News.

  2. I would like to request a new name for the “peter principle” because this guy is turning it into the Barack principle.

  3. Fox is but ONE news outlet in the US. Barry has ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC doing his bidding. That’s 5 against one and the undocumented president has the nerve to complain. Obama is more dangerous to the US than the Soviet Union ever was.

  4. Funny. I don’t recall him personally making a statement specifically about the newspapers that worked with the Wikileakers. And I don’t recall him as either senator or president castigating the New York Times or the Washington Post for publishing secret documents.
I guess those things aren’t ultimately destructive to the U.S. unlike the efforts of one major TV network out of four (or more).

  5. Obama isn’t endorsing any Congressional candidates because he has the “anti-Midas” touch now.
If he says he disagrees with Fox and thinks it’s destructive of the middle class, Fox is going to get more new viewers than the 42% share they already have now.
Obama is so radioactive that BJ Clinton has to do the Presidential endorsements in Obama’s stead.
    exception:
I predict that on November 2 the other networks are going to have a spike in viewer share for one or two days.
That is only because people are going to want to see the “Shock and Awe” on the Lefty pudit’s faces.
The schadenfreude is going to be so thick we’ll be able to wear it as an overcoat.

  6. Excuse me, but what’s new about this strategy? He’s been doing this right along.
Of course he disagrees with Fox News. He wants to turn America into Europe: a gun-free country with 75% tax rates, “free” health care, 6 week vacations and retirement on full pay at age 50. What could possibly go wrong with that?
Fox News is a bunch of RACISTS!

  7. Right on Oz – another dreary day in Alberta – rain, rain, rain and the Obama. He is the overcast cloud cover, with his pessimism and disdain toward the US citizens that he is supposed to defend and encourage. What were those Americans smoking – didn’t know “hope and change” was the new MaryJane. Cheers.

  8. Already had one 7&7, and I promised Kate years ago I wouldn’t post while enjoying my favorite adult beverage.
I’ll just say this and then get out of here. As anyone heard Glenn Beck’s Red Phone ring yet ?
    ,

  9. Well of course the Obama-Nation(tm) is so enamoured of his ideological orientation that he likely thinks failed state Zimbabwe is a ‘success story’.
Hey socialism on steroids…what could possibly go wrong?
During the Soros’ ‘Bush/Cheney=Hitler’ fest I didn’t hear George W Bush whining about unfair press coverage.
Stick and stones man, buck up…

Yes, but it wasn’t the president. Heh. It was some fellow from Texas (IIRC), who blew up the image on the TV screen after Glenn had held up the phone once. This fellow was able to then make out the telephone number printed on the bottom of the phone.
I thought it was pretty funny. They changed the number after that.

  11. Indeed, Hans, Dubya was truly a class act. Whenever asked during interviews what he felt about all the demonstrations against him, he’d just smirk in that mischievous way of his, and say something along the lines of, “Those folks have a right to say what they want to say.”

  12. Obama’s whining was pathetic but expected given his failing doctrine. What was more scary was the number of leftist commentators who wanted Fox News shut down. Pravda and Izvestiya equivalents only for America’s future media?

  13. One of the anchors on CNN said the other day that Fox News is the voice of the Republican Party.
CNN continues its slide in ratings. The CEO there has been ‘let go’ and so has the head of ABC and NBC. Do the math.

  14. The average American is disturbed by the excesses of both Big Business and Big Government.
    — Bill Clinton
Or, at least I thought that was his voice I heard on the radio today.

  15. Fox News is not destructive to America. Fox News is destructive to Barack Obama. That’s the only reason he, personally, hates Fox. The other networks hate Fox because it is successful and they are not.
The truth shall set you free America.

  16. Does anyone know whether any other U.S. President has ever publicly singled out a news organization for criticism on the grounds of its general political slant?
Maybe Nixon said something about the Washington Post, I don’t know. It doesn’t seem very presidential to me. ‘Course neither does Barry.

  17. Terry’s “Believe it or not” of the day:
A serious poll was conducted with 1000 phone survey asking which news anchor/commentator has the most “Impact on political debate”:
    No 1- Bill O’reilley
    2- Glenn Beck
    3- Rush Limbaugh
    4- Sean Hannity
    5- Jon Stewart
That’s right folks, the 5th and last on the list is the only lefty of the five and he hosts a comedy show.
The leftards rely on a jester. More than Tingles, Madcow, Dobermann, Kouric and the rest by a good margin.
    PATHETIC!

  18. Forgot to add that Jon Stewart has called for a rally on Oct 30th (Matnight, pre Halloween day) in DC. The “Rally to restore Sanity”. With the blessing of the White house I’m sure…
…Oprah has since tweeted her strong support…
Let’s see how many show up and how the MSM reports the numbers…
Who wanna bet Breitbart will be there?

  19. RHTT – Stewart (Leibowitz, actually; is this the 1920s, that Jews in showbiz are WASPifying their names? I don’t get it) – *ahem*; Stewart’s offspring Stephen Colbert just testified, in character (as a comedic right-wing blowhard pundit), at a Congressional Hearing, possibly as a stunt to divert attention from hearings re. Eric Holder, the Justice Department and racial bias:

  20. Obama can’t debate negative media reports thus he looks for ways to shut down media that isn’t in love with Dear Leader.

  21. “As more people get news from cable channels and websites that offer a particular point of view 24/7, it becomes increasingly important for viewers to sample multiple sources in order to best understand the issues and proposed solutions,”
There we go, the Alpha point of fear.
Its why Obama hates Fox. The left only want us watching them. No one else may be listened to when the infallible’s are in charge.
They wet themselves thinking folks may view the real facts. The Web brings night terrors to this lefty bunch of dictators.
Notice how they use the word Balanced. Hell I haven’t seen balanced news since the Net began. The press was owned by these socialist morons for 20 years at least. Yeah, Cronkite was such an honest dude?
People who have lost their mojo of power are whining about fairness when they never practiced it in life. This is about there self made messiah Obama. Not fair news.
    JMO

  22. What the h*** would Obama know about “growth” of a country or for that matter, competition. He has never done anything that didn’t come with a pay check of OPM (other people’s money). So better ‘”buck up” yourself buddy because you have run out of OPM AND our patience.

  23. Oz wrote:
“Obama isn’t endorsing any Congressional candidates because he has the “anti-Midas” touch now.”
Are you saying everything he touches turns to crap?
Obama is horrified that no one loves him to bits any more but really? He must suspect that high unemployment rates and appeasement of nutcases like Iran cannot endear one to a population. I thought places like Harvard and Columbia were supposed to make people smart!

  24. Ratt at 1:56, like Colin said it has rung once during commercial break and Beck’s expression, when he came back on and said the phone had rung, was hilarious!! The funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time. I just wish it had of rung during the show, it would have been a true “show stopper”. Very very funny.

  25. Black Mamba:
Nixon didn’t make any broadcast comments that I remember, but one of his staff did compile the famous “Enemies List”, which included the editor of the LA Times, the head of CBS, and the Washington Post and the New York Times. I don’t think it was public knowledge until 1973 when John Dean let it slip out during the Senate Watergate hearings.

  26. Let’s recognize this for what it is. The Democrats have given up trying to appeal to the average Joe. They’re in desperation mode, thinking that only by rallying their core voters can they prevent the loss of both the House and the Senate in this fall’s elections. So they go after wedge issues designed to energize their base. Thus attacking Fox news, and playing up the gay rights and Stewart/Colbert angles.
Rex Murphy recently wrote that Sarah Palin is smarter than 90% of the people that dismissed her as stupid. Those people who dismiss her are symptomatic of many “progressives” who think that any intelligent people must agree with them.
The arrogance of these people is driving them and their causes into the ground. Only when they bring a humble and respectful attitude back to the people the purport to serve, will they have any chance to revert these losses.

  27. KevinB – that’s sort of what I mean. Enemies Lists are one thing, but b*tching just isn’t presidential – or so it seems to me.
