  1. But c’mon Kate… it’s the Frenchies’ RIGHT to protest angrily and burn cars. French police wouldn’t DARE discourage it. Only us evil North Americans actually suppress violent mobs.

  2. I just saw the oily Sarkozy making that claim and CBC leftist toadie Terry Milowski making a big thing of it to make PMSH look bad. Disgusting.
I turned to my husband and said, “Yeah, Sarkozy has to deal with the Muslims” who will be out in force, no doubt, using the Summit as an excuse to burn more cars than usual. (And if the Muslims don’t, no doubt the protesters will.)
    I hope Sarkozy’s wife leaves him. 😉
And, what about the masked protesters? They seem to be the ones wreaking all of the havoc. I hope the police are arresting a lot of them — and if they aren’t, they should be. There’s been no mention of arrests on the CBC: Is that because there haven’t been any or is it that the police have arrested protesters but aren’t publicizing it?

  3. We could have done the event at no cost and let the socialists and anarchists overun the place…
jeez that Nicolas “le ver” Sarkozy is arrogant!
What gets to me is that this is socialists protesting socialists and marginalizing their own message…go figure!?!

    batb….you meant that as a rhetorical question,right?
Sarkozky has no choice but to do it cheaper.By the time the summit hits white flag land, they’ll be making Greece look well off, money wise.

  5. LOL, sure didn’t take you long to connect the dots on this one! I love it!
PS what the hell do these protestors even want? It’s all pretty damn ridiculous.

  6. Sarko will just bury the costs in the already large pre existing french security infrastructure.
Most of the money is going to pay those really disciplined men and women on the line.
Given the verbal abuse, paint bombs and projectiles they have faced they deserve every cent.

[…….PS what the hell do these protestors even want? It’s all pretty damn ridiculous….]
    Duhhh….
Simple the oportunity to riot, smash, pillage and burn……
    They are anarchists…this is anarchy….
    Watch and learn…..

  8. The annual car burning count in France is around 45,000.
I just came back from France . . . Sarkozy is openly mocked by people and is considered to be a dead dork politician walking.

  9. All I have to say on this subject. Is the sense able fact if the French owned arms & where able to use self defense. Very, very few cars in France would burn.
    JMO

  10. Just watched CBC newsnet, and there in downtown Toronto was a burning car,of the “police” variety,I believe.
Some of you well travelled folks owe it to the world to go over to France and paste up posters of Mohammed all over Paris the day before the G-20, with the caption,”Son of dog and pig” printed at the bottom in several languages.

  11. Watching a talking head, while behind ran a clip of a punk vandal doing violence. He was grabbed by a civilian right in front of a policeman, who presented the perp to the cop.
What happened? The cop let him go with a pat on the head telling him to run along and be a good little anarchist. WTF?
Should have seen the look of frustration (disgust) on the good guy.

  12. sasquatch has it right @ 5:48. Nestor Makhno’s grandchildren with Maud Barlow being one of them. The anarchists are just useful idiots of the communists.

  13. Between McGuinty and Miller, they have pretty much neutered the police in Ontario.

  14. It seems like the ones handcuffed today were the toronto police. All we’ve heard for the last days has been how the police were ‘intimidating’. Having been around the downtown all week, the police were in no way intimidating. This fear of being seen has heavy handed seems to have turned them into observers today when they should have been grabbing people.
I’m saddened at how people stand around and watch these guys. If the ‘peaceful’ protesters were so ‘not involved’ why didn’t they band together and restrain these troublemakers. Furthermore, why don’t they go home now and let the downtown return to normal but they seem to be intent on continuing to disrupt the peace.
I hope with all the photos that some of these individuals can be rounded up in jail.

  15. We should be wishing that Harper only spent 1/10th right now. Think of it, half of TO would be ablaze!

  16. Do you see a violent majority?
For the majority of “protestors” to do nothing except watch while vandals set fires and break windows is explicit approval. A pox on them all.

  17. Anyone wearing a mask should be automatically targeted with rubber bullets. They have a mask on; there is nothing peaceful about their intentions.

  18. Heh.
    “Vandals”.
No doubt representing a “broad stratum” of society.
    *cough*

  19. Colin from Mission B.C., my own thoughts indeed when I read “vandals” burned x number cars. These are from the same group that previously were labeled by the MSM as “disgruntled young”, so perhaps “vandals” is a wee bit more accurate term. The important thing remains to refuse to identify the common thread that binds them – their religion.

  20. The annual car burning count in France is around 45,000.
The French version of cash for clunkers.

  21. Sarkozy is not just a midget, he’s a mental midget, who suffers from “small man’s complex”. I say that at 5’7″!

  22. Those ‘Anarchists’ give Anarchy a bad name, and the only name most people think of when they hear the word.
Anarchy means ‘no rulers’ (consistent with ‘free-market capitalism’ and the plight of the indiviudal) NOT ‘no rules’ (denial of individual rights). A more appropriate name for those dressed in black bringing the ruckus would be ‘Chaos-ists’…but that’s not as catchy. They are the outcome of a system that fails to teach people to reason, fails to teach people how to organize thoughts and knowledge, fails to give structure, and fails to encourage the best from everyone…yet claims to do just that.

  23. What a dishonour to the actual Vandals, one of those rich European cultures that had the misfortune of disappearing before the EU had a chance to adopt special regulations for their protection!
