Chaos in TO

And with this, the ‘billion dollar boondoggle” talking point goes up in smoke. Liberals are idiots.

Apparently David Miller is warning people to leave the area.
Best quote of the day, “The CBC building is in lock-down.”

Update: CTV: “For the first time ever, tear gas has been used in the city of Toronto”
Meanwhile… is it true that the English translation for the word “Bourque” is “egg on face”? In related developments, CTV cites Twitter as a source… developing…

  1. As the Mom of an RCMP member that was sent to TO from very rural Man..I am just sick watching this.Lisa LaPhlegm and Jackie Milczarek continue to ‘blame’ the police..they have done too much, they haven’t done enough..I am outraged by the msm and the help and comfort they have provided to these idiots.A ctv reporter wished one of these terrorists ‘good luck with the protest’ last eve.And..they wonder WHY we hate them?

  2. Why do they keep on mentioning the name of this group? Who cares what they’re called? Why give them the attention they want?
Since most of the idiots who end up rioting, vandalizing, or looting never end up getting charged/arrested/publicly flogged as they ought to – I’d love to see the downtown highrise residents start to throw fruit from their 15th floor windows…

  3. “Sid Ryan, president of the Ontario Federation of Labour and a rally co-organizer.”
Sid also has a lot to do with the Muslim protests that take over the streets in Toronto. The left and the Muslims seem to get most of their money and support from the CAW and CUPE. Like their counterparts in the US the SEIU these people seem to hate the country that has been so good to them. Pure insanity.

  4. G&M has a live blog for mobile devices if you want to catch the smash & and smash live from about half a dozen observers. I’m reading the reports on my PC.

  5. And what is especially funny is that every single CTV or CBC news piece always began discussing the security, or how people were being cordoned off, or how deserted the streets of Toronto were, or how the security money didn’t seem to have been worth spending, or they would talk to the protesters and tell everybody when the protests were going to begin and how to get there. I don’t think I saw a piece where they actually talked to anyone from or about the G8/20 summit.
    This is simply delicious.

  6. A water cannon and a big tank of pig shit would settle this mob. If not…. a machine gun would be fine too. Someone needs to have the guts to deal with this shit. They think they are untouchable like most brats these days. Gutless pieces of shit….

  7. Check out the hilarious comments over at bizarro world CBC.
Time to do another juxtaposition Kate… Right wing tea parties and unemployed bum lefties from Toronto.

  8. “…the ‘billion dollar boondoggle” talking point goes up in smoke.”
Lance, with this they will merely counter with … “we were provoked.”
“Liberals are idiots.” Indeed. And they think that we are idiotic enough not to have noticed their duplicity.

  9. Next time: Catch ’em while protesting, put ’em in a concentration camp on a lake ontario island somewhere; release them after the summit. This would make the leftists squeel, but who cares? They’ll be on the island too!

  10. That this would happen in Toronto is not all that surprising. I mean, the cops there have always treated union and terrorist groups with soft hands. And they waited too long to go after the anarchists (who are really just another face of the radical left). Meanwhile, productive citizens and companies are left to pay for the damage done while cops stand by. Perhaps companies should sue the organizers of the protest. I mean if a gay couple in Vancouver can sue a wrestling promoter for the violence perpetuated against them many blocks away, then turn around should be fair play.
It’s time to play hard ball. REAL hard ball.

  11. Why do the MSM keep calling these vandals PROTESTERS. These assholes didn’t come to Toronto to protest anything, they are just a bunch of thugs looking to wreak havoc. My vote is with Altaguy with the pig shit water cannon response.

  12. Too many bystanders with cameras, not doing their civic duty to intervene and oppose those rioting. This is what Toronto has become – a city of civic bystanders

  13. “Police maintained tight lines around the summit site, but largely did not intervene as marchers destroyed property.”
This would almost be funny, in a Monty Python sort of way, if it wasn’t so goddamned pathetic.
Anyone vandalizing property should be dealt a baton across the back of the knees and told to remain on the ground until the paddy wagon arrives. Disregarding orders would then result in a baton applied to more sensitive body parts. This would continue until the order is obeyed.
After the sh*t clears, vandals should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and have their lives altered in a very negative way.
Bad behaviour used to have consequences. Nowadays, no one seems to have the gonads to do what needs to be done.
I don’t blame the police. They are only following orders to show restraint. I’m quite sure that the average officer would like nothing better than to open a huge can of whupass on these gutless fools.

  14. The National Post has a great live feed going.

Lots of pics of destruction, but not of those doing it. And yet….
“RT @mattbraga Watching protesters in front of me change out of all black clothing to blend it with crowd #G20
by g20updates via twitter at 4:43 PM”
It’s funny how the cameras never seem to be aimed at those responsible for destroying other people’s livelihoods.

Naw, these jackasses would like nothing better than a Winter Palace moment.
Just the kind of jerks who figure the people will follow them once they seize power by violent means.
Until the peaceful protesters disown them, then they are all in the same boat.

  16. I bet most canadians would cheer loudly if the police started beating the crap out of these anarchists – unemployed bums more like. Give ’em a beating that’ll make ’em think twice before rampaging again. And then shove ’em in jail with some hard-time offenders for a few weeks to make sure the lesson sinks home.

  17. We think the Puritans where funny people using stocks, with public input by rotten fruit.
Thats more civilized than these insects deserve.
It would relieve tensions as the public takes its joy from pitching vegetables at their tormentors.
    JMO

  18. Isn’t this something?
Once more the lesson is being taught and will not the authorities listen. The more kow tow, the more buttering up of these people, the more the sociopathic members are encouraged.
Yes, time to play more hardball. I often wonder how many of these persons are on some sort of government assistance. I do not mean pure welfare, but some sort of monies- our tax payers monies.

Both Federal Goverment and the Ontario Provincial Government seem prone to fund all sorts of “programs”.

The only reality for many of these persons is to have to work for a living.

I listened to CBC Radio North yesterday. The interviews were studiously with so called “activists” who had some sort of gainful employment. Trust CBC to hand pick ’em.
Meanwhile a bit of a field day for the television media. Descriptions include- “Some with blood on their heads”. What a song and a dance are these worthies doing. Have these news people got what they secretly wish for?

  19. cbc relaying msgs from ‘street’ reporters that the ‘cop cars are decoys..that they are just rental cars’ and they wonder ‘what the hell is going on?’
Suhanna Moron-cherand speaking to a store owner on cbc trying to get him to blame PMSH for all this violence. She is shot down, when said store owner tells her this totally justifies the cost of security..and says maybe it should have been ‘more’..Suhanna quickly moves on!

  20. I’m for public flogging, rubber bullets, or anything else that would give the balaclava group a bit of pain.
As much as I don’t like Sid Ryan, his protest was discussed with the police in advance and he said they would not vary from the route agreed upon.
The other group are nothing more than small-fry anarchists who enjoy a good time. To hell with them, and soon.

  21. It makes me furious – the arrogance of these so-called ‘protesters’ who aren’t here to protest or debate or argue any point. They’ve come for one thing only. One thing.
To destroy other people’s property. To have a great fun-filled weekend of destruction, of feeling powerful outwitting police (changing out of their black clothing to blend in with the crowd). They are despicable; they are cowards.
They haven’t a single articulate or even inarticulate word to say about ANY ISSUE. Their words are confined to ‘get the police’ or ‘burn the car’ or ‘smash the windows’. Not a word, a single word, about any issue.
    Despicable cowards.

  22. This appeared a few days ago in the G&M. I read it and commented, but I didn’t pay all that much attention. Another naive idiot explaining why she was going to protest at G20. I’m sure this lady doesn’t see herself as part of the hooliganism going on but by being so gullible, people such as she provide the human wall that allows the barbarians to take over–sort of like the Trojan horse.
    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/facts-and-arguments/why-i-will-protest-at-the-g20/article1616661/

  23. I checked out the CBCpravda protestfest on the National about 2 nights ago following a readers tip. sick , sick, sick
nothing but Maude Barlow and Judy Rebick and the like. one can only hope those two are there and arrested.

  24. Tanker said “I bet most canadians would cheer loudly if the police started beating the crap out of these anarchists”
I miss the days when cops could crack heads. If the cops were allowed to wade into the protesters on day one and throw some lumber around they would have behaved themselves for the rest of the summit.

  25. Certainly lots of cops (good) – but what is with the bikes? Maybe they will use them as clubs 😉

  26. I hope Ceebeecee does not expect us to pay for their stupid bus! The CBC reporters were incouraging these protester thugs thus; they (CBC reporters)should all be fired! The mayor of Tranna is a pot calling the kettle black. Tranna is not a reflection of Canada; the whole area should be cordoned off for good, IMO.
That yoke, yoke joke on Bourque was very timely Kate! Yuk, yuk.

  27. WTF?? Suhanna CBC now referring to ‘activism artwork?’ about a burned out cop car??

  28. God Bless and protect these brave police officers ! God bless and protect our Prime Minister.
Shame on the MSM for promoting protestors. The National Press gallery needs to be held responsible for encouraging the violence!

  29. A billion bucks, and the rioting happened blocks north of the fenced area, on Queen West and Yonge St., far away from all the brand new cameras put in for the event. So, no – billions of dollars badly spent, considering that not a single cent would have been spent if we simply never held this farcical event, which attracts these cretins like bluebottles on a turd.

  30. Petey Mansbridge trotted out the old “the vast majority are peaceful” line.
Now where have I heard that applied to other violent retards?

  31. Posted by: Mississauga Matt at June 26, 2010 5:24 PM
How would you describe the majority?

  32. I was a witness to the black riot in Toronto back in the early 90’s. It was much much worse than this. Of course the CBC ndp and Toronto Star portrayed the rioters as underprivileged victims. Funny they all had much better clothes than I could ever afford back then. I can’t afford those shoes now.

  33. Lisa LaFlamme deserves some credit….she identfied one of the black bloc leaders live….she had interviewed the guys a couple fo days earlier while they were claiming profiling.
She named him, gave details on air. good for her.
She also has been saying all along that NONE of this has been provoked by the police. SHe has said it again and again. Just thought she deserved some credit.

  34. wnmc
[….Certainly lots of cops (good) – but what is with the bikes? Maybe they will use them as clubs ;)]
Simple explaination about the bike cops.
    1) bikes are cheap.
    2) bike cops can swiftly deploy through traffic…
    3) bike cops are fit and have a degree of protection with their helmets.
Mounted Police…..highly mobile, modern versions of dragoons capable of dealing out vast loads of whoopass.
I really like the idea of the water cannon/pig Sh!t….
    Too late maybe next time.

  35. How would you describe the majority?
Posted by: set you free at June 26, 2010 5:29 PM
    ————————————
Unemployed, unmotivated, lazy SOB leeches and scum. Most not from Toronto. Many with obvious mental problems. Others who can’t be motivated to get up and go to work each day but somehow find the energy to bust windows, when they’re not smoking drugs. Hippies. General left-wing scum. People who are leeches on society, not contributors, living off the hard-work of others.

  36. Posted by: Mississauga Matt at June 26, 2010 5:38 PM
The people you describe … are the majority peaceful or violent?
    Honestly.

  37. The “peaceful protesters” hide and allow this “anarchist minority” to blend in with their consent. They are just as guilty in the destruction. Anyone that thinks otherwise is naive, gullible, ignorant and stupid. That obliviously includes both the media and most of what pass for our political class.
    OPEN FIRE.
