    National News Watch has up that Halifax radio host Andrew Krystal has stated that it is NDP MP Olivia Chow whom CSIS is talking about as the federal MP targeted by Chinese Spy Agencies
    Krystal states he has been told this by friends within CSIS.

  2. That Vancouver Sun’s ‘afiront’ to immigrants is, in my view, a juvenile and empty report, filled with speculation and ungrounded assumptions.
    By the way, to assume that an elected official has nothing but ‘good intentions’ towards Canada is idealistic. We know, of course, that the Bloc members, duly elected in a federal election, and accepting salaries, pensions, benefits AND elections costs from the taxpayers, have no such intention.
    And others? We can’t assume that because one is a citizen, that one has automatic loyalty to the state.

  3. The fact that Harper is promoting a right wing all news outlet (SUN) is probably due in part to the frustrating CBC.
    This, if all factual that they deliberately kept this to hurt the current Federal Government and at a potential International level is the last straw IMO.
    If Harper gets a majority, CBC days will be numbered. Enough is enough. They have no audience except a few Metropolitan elites and on the tax dole for 1.5 Billion a year…Enough to more than pay yearly G8/G20 summits in which the CBC have been intensively rubbing Harper’s nose in for weeks now.
    That loud mouth CBC bitch Colleen from N.S. was sitting on a Muskoka chair at the fake lake this morning just rubbing it in again this morning.
    Funny how the CBC never points to the fact that these summits are so costly is to keep security again’st their own type of lefty viewers.

  4. Not a fan of CBC but had the radio on last night and caught an interview about this story on “As it Happens”. That leftist cow Carol Off had on some no name “Tung Chan is the CEO of the immigrant-services organization SUCCESS, and a former Vancouver city councillor.” Of course the interview was racial driven with Chan suggesting that the uproar created could lead to the way the Japanese were rounded up during the second world war. Way over the top but hey that’s the way our tax funded CBC cronies like it.

    Canada’s Security Intelligence Service is focusing on individuals who just happen to be recognized as members of an identity group by Leftists whose politics are depend on focusing on ethnic groups.

  7. The poor quality of journalism in Canada has caused me to avoid most of scandal de jour reports (or in the case of Canada’s MSM weeks and months of beating a dead horse). I am curious though if anyone in the media seems interested in whether or not the allegations may be true. I would think that the possibility of elected officials being beholden to foreign government is the story most Canadians would be concerned about. But, no, the CBC is far more interested in timing an old interview to cause maximum controversy and diplomatic embarrassment to the CPC government.
    Typical.
    Competition in the Canadian News industry can not come soon enough.

  9. Read what you can about the “feather bed” file. In that it was discovered Canada’s government was deeply infiltrated with KGB and other hostile spy agents. CSIS and the RCMP identified spies in Trudeau’s cabinet – of course PET had this file locked away for 50yrs under an official secrets label.
    What’s really changed. Harper may be at the helm but the old Trudeaupian oligarchy runs the government – and I suspect they are as compromised as they were back in Pet’s day.
    Does this stem from the morbidly childish belief liberals have that Canada is so wonderfully progressive and altruistic it has no enemies or predators?

  10. Living as I do next to Caledonia as I do, Richard Fadden’s comments about bought-and-paid-for provincial cabinet ministers are unsurprising. As in “Yeah, no DUH!” Him making comments like that public are not a problem, they are part of the solution.
    However him giving the CBC tape that they can reveal at a time of -their- choosing, as in for maximum embarrassment value, isn’t very spy-ish, you ask me. Spies are supposed to be suspicious, I always thought. Trusting the CBC? Questionable.

  11. Never, ever trust anything that the CBC says – they are not on the side of Canadian citizens. PET was of the same ilk as the Zero down south – a less dangerous man in a less dangerous time – but he did ruin the economy of Canada and erode the rights of citizens.

  18. The CSIS head’s comments don’t surprise me in content. I am more surprised he made them…but now that he has one hopes the deatils are now shared.
    Now why they arent shared with law enforcement may be because they cannot. Who knows how they have the info, sharing it with law enforcement might not be possible.
    Cant say who, without proof, see comment above.
    Purpose may have been to warn those individuals that their actvitivities arent unknown, and that all politicians need to be careful about dealing with foreign powers.
    However, one aspect of the story caught my eye. The description of identifying promising students early, paying for school, paying for trips and cultivating lots of long term bets. Sounds like a certain politican from south of the border, I alwys dismissed those stories as fringe, now I am a little more interested.

    So did NNW do their homework & findout there is nothing to this? nothing but a fabricated story or Has someone made a call to them to cease & remove?

  21. This is a somewhat ridiculous story, given that almost all of our political class are lamentably soft on China. The mantra is, we must do business with these people.
    The facts that they are a nation run by communists, with slave labour factories, organ donation without consent, no freedom of religion, no freedom of speech, and seeking to profit from the global warming scam without complying themselves, are all swept under the rug. All of our major political leaders since 1970 have taken this approach to China, and it stinks.
    The fact that some politicians are a bit more proactive means nothing — they are ALL on the take from China.

  24. To say that PET was the best PM of Canada is to reveal the level of ignorance that permeates opinions of those who do not know history or the consequences of actions. We live in a socialist state directly because of two men. Tommy Douglas and Pierre Elliot Trudeau. What surprises me more than ignorant comments about his greatness is the West’s tolerance of it, to their credit and their refusal to break up the country with much more provacation that Quebec and the Bloc have ever had. Past is prologue. If it were not for some really wise voters and businesses in this country we would already BE Cuba North. As it is we are still over half way there. Watch what really happens in the US in the 2010 elections and beyond. For in that uprising lies our own salvation.

  26. The timing of this news release is not coincidental. It is an effort to divert attention from any good news coming from the G8/G20 summits. Remember the ‘wafergate scandal’just before Harper was to meet the Pope.

    I wrote CBC a letter about the ‘wafergate’ coverage’ and specifically asked if they had contacted the reporters who wrote the original story prior to running full tilt with the story. I received back a reply that avoided that question entirely,but pointed out that they did ‘twice’ put out items that said that it was may have been all BS. Unfortunately due to a hard drive crash I no longer have the letter or the reply.

    They are not fooling all of us,but they only have to fool enough to save their hides.

  32. The little shyster from Shawingan “lent” the Chinese billions of dollars to build a nuclear electrical plant. Since his “retirement” from politics he has been spending much of his time in China and pushing all causes that would benefit China – e.g. global warming.

    So the fact that some immigrants can act as spies for other countries should not be mentioned because any whisper of that is ” an anathema to the concept of multiculturalism.”?
    I am an immigrant and I don’t see any evil or shame in pointing out that some immigrants can and do act contrary to the Canadian interests.
