  1. When you look in their faces for shame there is none…
    {When Laura Bush was First Lady, she made literacy her signature project. Maybe we need her to come back to the Obama White House and start offering literacy programs to high-ranking officials. State Department spokesman P. J. Crowley becomes the latest official to admit that he’s criticizing SB 1070 without having bothered to actually read the legislative language. Fox’s Greg Jarret skewers Crowley and notes that, at the least, it’s consistent with the rest of the administration.}

  2. Obama refuses to answer reporters questions after signing the “Freedom of Press Act” – just a tad ironic. The full video is even worse than the clip – He states that what happened to Daniel Pearle is a legacy that he hopes lives on and that it “captured the worlds imagination.” The full video on youtube shows a person or two rolling their eyes and other awkward moment body language cues after he had the insensitivity to state such a thing in respect to a Jew who was beheaded. He also just about said the word strict instead of strong message. 2nd link full video.

  3. Excellent and chilling four part series on political corruption in the US by NP’s Allen Abel.
    The prosecutor in Pennsylvania stated “I would be generous to say that 10% of what is done in the legislature is done in the best interests of the people of Pennsylvania. Ten per cent, and I’m being gracious. The best interests of the people seem to not exist.”

  4. Kate: the Indian activists just firebombed a bank a few blocks from my home here in Ottawa. The media is covering it up and reporting that “anarchists” with unspecified grievances did it: bullsh!t:
    “We pass the torch to all those who would resist the trampling of native rights”

    The police do not appear eager to identify the terrorists as Indian activists.
    This would be the same police force that stood down and collected a million dollars worth of overtime while thousands of Tamil terrorists shut down the city of Ottawa, and the same police force that told Coulter they would hold her responsible if their officers were injured and that they couldn’t guarantee her safety, and the same police force which blatantly attempted to get rid of a tax freeze friendly mayor who would jeopardize their extremely high salaries. See a pattern here?
    Keep an eye on this story.

  5. Unbelievable…
    Nowadays you can’t even read a sports article about the Montreal Canadiens’ troubles without seeing a dig at Sarah Palin…

    “Between games, the veteran Gomez had spoken about not taking dumb penalties. Let’s just say that if this series was the English language, Gomez would be Sarah Palin.”
    It would seem that even sports writers are scared of her.

  6. No reader tip here, just thanks for linking to a superb performance by one of the greatest musicians ever. Anybody got any idea who the tenor saxophonist or the clarinetist is?

  7. I don’t have any impeccable info,or a link, on this subject. The board of Internal Economy has the say on AG Fraser auditing MP’s. So far,it seems that there are 5 members on the board that vote on the issue . Two Conservatives, and one each from Lib,Bloc, and NDP.Does anyone know how they voted by party? Michael I. is going on record with some ambiguous statement that he respects their decision, but wants more information, blah, blah, blah.

  8. What happened to the Burka Rage Reader Tip? I commented on it @ 6:45 a.m., and the comment’s gone too. Understandably, I didn’t include a link, but the Burka Rage Reader Tip did.
    Where is it, may I ask?

  9. Reader Tips (5) says, BATB: “Each Reader Tip should include a brief description of the item or the story and/or why the other end of the link(s) may be interesting (a sentence or two, or paragraph, or short quote). […] Tips that do not provide a reasonable description of their link, […] are not acceptable”. No-one’s 04:08 comment did not provide a reasonable description of its link, so it and its dependent comments were not acceptable.

  10. I’m shocked, really, really, shocked. The liberals must have an advance release of tomorrow’s EKOS poll, for once again, the party that stands for everything, and nothing, simultaneously, are indicating a change on their “appease the criminal” position. To paraphrase their leader,”If the shoe fits, put another one in,I’m still talking”.
