  1. I like!
Many lefties also liked what Obama promised them too before he was elected.
    So…., we’ll see.

  2. I’m amazed at how tone deaf the political left can be in the U.S. You would think most of them had never stepped outside of Greenwich Village.
Every time they call tea partiers “tea baggers”, every time they call Palin a hillbilly, every time they use the term “redneck”, the Democrats fall a notch in the polls. The idea that there are many people who are not staunch conservatives but are sympathetic towards traditional American values doesn’t seem to occur to them.

  3. He’d have my vote, and if he ever wants to move up this way, he’d be as welcome as the flowers in Spring.

  4. I see lefty heads exploding, but I’m not sure the cause is the Winchester in his hands…
Thats one of those ‘lock n load’ ads that will play well with Americans…a bit of a ‘kick ass’ attitude.
I loved the ‘dummy’ part about his opponent bragging on Facebook about taking illegal political contributions. That ought to play well with taxpayers in the Obama-Nation(tm).
    Cheers

  5. Lest anyone doubt, despite the best efforts of the MSM Ministry of Propaganda, there are tens of millions of Americans who share Dale Peterson’s values, including me. We are, as the much-lied-about Richard Nixon described us, “the Silent Majority”.

I hear ya Rabb, it’s almost as though they know the fix is in, you know, kindof how they got ObamaCare passed with Legislative trickery. It’s getting quite scary down heya knowing these motherless-sons are fixin to cause Civil War II.

  7. I think the ad needed a few more hard cuts. I didn’t get quite enough whiplash from it.

  8. Uh, oh:
    “… we’re losing 3 family farms a day …”.
    Notice the collective “we’re”.
And what state interventions is he proposing to “fix” this “problem”. Yeah, tough guy, gonna fix that free market, what? Make sure the people are better served with higher prices, eh?
So, earlier, the tough Soprano gov in Jersey, and now an even tougher guy in a big hat with a gun. Cartoon Conservatism.
Again, nothing better dileneates the conservative and libertarian minds more than this agrihooey.

  9. He’ll only get my vote if gets a SureFire weapon light on his gun and starts packin’ some serious Special Forces heat.
And ya, keep yer frickin’ finger OUT of the trigger guard.

  10. Dude! Anybody who can talk that fast AND remember his lines deserves a second look.

  11. Yep, if you’re going to make a big show of your Winchester, you should make it look like you’re not a freakin’ greenhorn.

  12. Well nice to see the people picking up on the trigger finger thing, you should also take the time to note that the exposed hammer is dropped. Please try to concern yourselves more with where the gun is pointed first and what the hands are doing 2nd.

  13. Here in Grey/Bruce he would be considered a Knuckledraggin, kkk, redneck, nazi, hick Atleast Thats what Toranta Reporters thinks we are up here.

  14. For the end walkaway should have used a very well fed bobtail gelding with his opponent’s portrait painted on its butt in target motif. It goes without saying the horse would be trained to perform a certain natural function on silent command.

  15. the Bear:
yeah uh, he sweeps it across this body, pointing it at the crew. With his finger in the trigger guard. Look, he’s handled 1000x more guns than I have. Just sayin’
    KS

  16. If the Libs ever rest power from the Cons, i would like to see a 100,000 rifles waiting for Iggy at the Sask border when he comes a callin’. Sorry no lefty weinies allowed. Go back to Trawna.

  17. Red neck state intervention is not the answer and sloppy gun handling doesn’t evoke respect. Shrinking government in most everything it is involved in would be a more rational message and a holstered Colt 45 in view of the camera would pull in the NRA / Cowboy vote well enough.

  18. “…Shrinking government in most everything it is involved in would be a more rational message…”
    Amen to that, Brother…
I don’t impress that easy anymore either. You can haul out Joe Marlboro all you want but in the end if he’s just another puppet with a big gun, riding a horse in the wilderness promising a different way of doing BIG Goverment than the metro sexual riding a bike with a big man purse in downtown San Fran…There’s no difference.
There’s simply too much Government in the World right now.

  19. No, he didn’t sweep the cameraman, it went over their heads.
But yes, finger on trigger is a no-no habit, even with the hammer down.

  20. I might not want to be best friends with the guy, but I wouldn’t mind having him for a neighbour.

  21. Even his horse jumps when he says “Wa?”
Trigger guard violator or not he’d have my vote.

  22. Three fingers in the lever and probably sitting on a fired round or empty.
Hope he gets a chance to do bidness.

  23. The bear has it. The clip never showed Peterson pointing the rifle at anyone. The rifle went went up and then horizontal and the hammer was down. First lesson in basic, as he would know being a cop and a soldier, is never ever under any condition, loaded or not, point a firearm at anyone unless you intend to use it.

  24. Too bad we never see a straight talker here in Canada. Everybody just dances around the issues and makes nice small talk that actually says nothing. If anyone ever did come right out and tell it like it is, the liberal press would crucify them.
It is no surprise that we get nothing but vacuous politicians or at best talk in code that few other than the committed comprehend.
Canadians might someday soon be faced with Hugo Chavez clones in office and will have to wake up.

  25. Right you are Kathy. I’m with ya Dale, but finger off the trigger till yer ready fer shootin’.
    Sweet Home Alabama.

  26. Great stuff, no politically correct bullcrap there. Made me want to move to Alabama just so I could vote for him.

  27. You’ll notice that as he walks away with the rifle on his shoulder, his finger is not on the trigger. I’m a rural southerner (Georgia, Alabama) and have hunted with people like him all my life. Especially with his background as a Marine, I think he knew exactly what he was doing. He likely had the finger in the trigger guard for effect.

  28. Perhaps his finger was there on purpose.
I’ld vote for him if I lived there.
We need guys like that in Canada!

  29. He’s what we call a man.
Urban metrosexuals are just confused. Rural folk don’t put up with the B.S. that urban people do. If they did we’d all starve!
As for the handling of the Winchester 94, it’s a lever action rifle that is carried at the ready in hunting/self-defence situations with a bullet chambered, with the hammer at the half-cocked safety position. When needed it’s raised to the shoulder into an aimed firing position and cocking the hammer with the thumb as it simultaneously pointed at the target.
It can’t fire without the hammer being cocked with the thumb and also has a squeeze grip safety underneath the lever.
If it’s carried with an empty chamber and brought to the shoulder pointing at the target and working the lever both chambers a cartridge and cocks the hammer.
That is also how it would be operated to fire successive rounds.
The finger off the trigger was not designed around single-action thumb cocked firearms.
Variations of the model 94, and it’s smaller cousin the 92, are fast handling firearms that can fit a women’s hands better than most guns.
They’re better at home and farm yard defence than most rifles. No better deer/black bear woods rifle was ever made.
This guy knows exactly what he is doing.
These days Arizona might appreciate him, too.

  30. My Gawd, what a loudmouthed phoney turd. If the people of Alabama actually vote for such a dorgan, they richly deserve whatever happens to them.
    Barf, barf, barf.
    (I’ll bet he’s gay.)
p.s. This “farmer” should know enough to hold the reins in his left hand.

  31. Hmn, Zog doesn’t like the guy.
I may have to revise my opinion upward. Considerably.
I mean, finger on the trigger… in front of a camera crew… probably composed at least in part of swishy liberals…
One could argue the target was in sight. ~:D

  32. I see many of you don’t think people like this still exist in Canada. Well, I have news for you. I run into guys like this fairly often. If you do a lot of traveling in SE Alberta, and have occasion to contact big land owners, you get to meet some real characters. There are ranches down here that are well beyond the long arm of the law. When you go on that land, you better have a reason, and you better have respect.
As for the Winchester, its straight stock makes it hard to hold, without putting your index finger inside the guard. The lever opening is too small for 4 farmer fingers, and they balance just about perfectly the way he was holding it.

  33. fer chr*st’s sakes people, its only a .22 lever action. Not exactly gonna kick a lot of @$$ with a pussy weapon like that. Maybe scare a few gophers and make some barley pop cans nervous (and a few lefties who think gun contol is when THEY can take away all our guns). But geeze, put a 50 cal sniper rifle in his arms, and I’d be more than ready to kick in a few bucks for ammo and campaign funds!

  34. Well Mr. Decker, on the farm – a .22 is the weapon of choice for putting down all manners of livestock. X marks the spot 😉

  35. Mr. Decker is mistaken. The model 94 held by Dale Peterson is not a model 9422. They are loaded through a slot in the tubular magazine underneath the barrel. This rifle doesn’t have one, and the ejection port is much smaller on the .22 rimfire. It’s higher on the receiver and looks much different from the one Dale has.
His is a model 94 centrefire, likely in .30/30 caliber. It’s adequate for big game or encounters with dangerous predators.

  36. Larry’s right. The odds of it being other than a 30*30 are slim.
I like the commercial. It’s what it will take for people to take their states back. The criminals are not going to just go away.

  37. dp said: “I see many of you don’t think people like this still exist in Canada.”
That’s right dp. All the people like this guy that I know here in Ontario, myself included, keep the finger off of the trigger.
Other than that, its kinda like looking in the mirror and yelling. Or talking to the guy that delivers the water. Or the guy at the tractor dealership, my neighbors…

  38. It’s a 30.30 and there aint no gophers in Al-bama. Just gators and wetbacks.
I’ll also bet he doesn’t give a rip that some here think he’s not metrosexual enough to be ‘voter friendly’. Suck it up sissies. Testosterone is a good thing. Far better than watered down pussy boys like John Kerry and Iggy Igwhatzhisnutz who’ve spent thier entire lives ‘finding themselves’. Besides, chicks dig the Marlboro man, not ‘the artist foremely known as Prince’.
