I would simply note that the Saxton link which you posted is in perfect agreement with what I said. 80% of the engine power is converted into torque. Torque to the wheel is not the same thing as total vehicle energy efficiency. You still have the friction losses to the road, to braking and to air flow, to name only a few and the largest of the efficiency losses, none of which are dependent upon the type of power plant used.
What you are illustrating, TG, is that you post links without understanding what they contain.
You won’t fool many with that.
