It’s an affliction among the country’s nurses, teachers, police, military and bureaucrats at all levels of government, undermining innovation, productivity, quality of service, policy-making and even the relevance of our democratic institutions, said Bill Wilkerson, founder of Global Business and Economic Roundtable on Mental Health.
Like paid “stress” leave?

Ray K: You sound like a lefty actually. You dis agree but can’t refute so you go ad hominem. Convoluted nonsense? Shall I type slower? It’s n-e-g-o-t-i-a-t-e-d instead of p-a-y. You’d prefer if I made whatever % sick time is in wages and have no paid sick time? What difference would that make to you? It might surprise you that the majority of civil servants retire with sick time in the bank that they ARE NEVER PAID FOR. Time that they earned and if we did it your way, would have been paid for on a regular pay-cheque. I’d like to see the figures. Paid sick time that is unused may actually result in savings in the overall wage package. And if you think Treasury Board is a pleasure to negotiate with and is giving away the farm, I have some land in Florida for you.
BTW, I’m not trying to change any minds, in particular. I just thought some would like to know what it is, that they’re actually against. 🙂
