His mind was an abyss of darkness on par with those of fleas,
The room was full of lefties sat there to hear his pleas,
His home is next to a zinc mine a fact he had to hide
And the Goracle came lying —
Lying — lying—
The Goracle came lying, up to Powerpoint slide.
O’er the screens he nattered and from whence a tremendous frenzy grew,
It was all a load of rubbish but being lefties they lacked a clue;
He told them tales of Greenland which he claimed would soon be ice-free;
Yet he bought a place in Frisco –
Frisco – Frisco –
He bought a place in Frisco,
Right where the floods would be.
“Tipper!” he cried like a madman, shrieking her name to the sky,
“Now Climategate is upon us, the world has woken up to my lie!”
Mike Mann and Phil Jones in a dangerous game imagined themselves as god,
So he cancelled his trip to Denmark,
He would not go to Denmark,
The last placed he’d be would be Denmark, ‘cause man-made climate change is a fraud.

Okay, I’ll stop now. Prince Albert says the e-mails are irrelevant because they’re ten years old. Maybe he’s right; ten years ago he was vice-president. and running for president.
a good ol’ fashioned fraud.
another in a long list.
heavens to betsy!
Love it, MM. “The Highwayman”. How appropriate!
I’m in the pay of “Big Oil”, dontcha know.
I liked ∞² poem best.
Oh, me too – those big fat cheques from Big Oil, the Republican Party, and all kinds of other knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing types – *Christians* (ewww!) and whatnot – just POUR into my mailbox.
Oh right – I’m a Canadian who works for a healthcare company and has a modest low-middle income, but was endowed with the gift of a sensitive bullshit detector.
Dang.
∞² is the bastard child of the ∪ of ∞ and ∞.
Well done MM. The new poet laureate of SDA?
One should credit Loreena McKennitt for the original “Highwayman.” I’d lay my mutated cells at her feet.

Some rewording and Recycling here:
“The Dawning of the Age of Schadenfreude”.
When Obama is in the White House
And Big Al aligns with Stars
Will Maurice then guide the planets
Or corn squeezins power the cars
This is the dawning of the age of Schadenfreude
The age of Schadenfreude
Schadenfreude! Schadenfreude!
New insight and understanding
Suspicion and mistrust growing
Not one more falsehood but derisions
Of golden lying dreams and visions
Mystic tree ring re-evaluation
And Big Al’s incarceration
Schadenfreude! Schadenfreude!

Loreena McKennitt’s is a great rendition but “The Highwayman” is by Alfred Noyes, published in 1906
Congrats Mississauga Matt!
kdl and others – thanks for telling me about The Highwayman – didn’t know about that – bad me – always good to learn!
MM – Brilliant!!!
My wife’s grandfather was a nephew of Alfred Noyes. Good to see the old boy is still apreciated in these modern times.
