  1. I’ve said all along that Obamao would have a significant number of people fondly recalling W. However, enough of the dynastic presidency. Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama/Bush? No thanks.

  2. Obama screwed up on his own. Why doesn’t he just be a man about things and admit he doesn’t know what he’s doing (unless, he is deliberately trying to destroy the US….)? Typical liberal.
Off-tangent, a newspaper in Great Britain believes Canada should be kicked out of the Commonwealth due to its oil sands “embarrassment”. Call me a snob if you must but I refuse to let a country that considers mushy peas a perfect accompaniment to any meal tell Canada what’s what.

  3. I think the Obama gang are going to pull back on their agenda, going for the slow and stealthy method rather than the ‘smash and grab in the first year’ method.
They realize the drop in polls points to a 2010 Republican surge, so, I think the Democrats and Obama’s BackRoom Gang will pull back, put him in public speeches – such as his 30,000 troops in Afghanistan, and his Nobel talk where he acknowledged ‘it’s a bit early’ and actually acknowledged that some wars are justified’.
This public image is geared to ONE and only one result – regaining voters.
The agenda of a socialist takeover of the US remains unchanged; the BackRoom Gang are just moving a bit more stealthily.

  4. W’s Federal government 2008:
    Receipts: $2.524 trillion.
    Outlays: $2.983 trillion.
    Deficit: $0.459 trillion.
    Barry’s Federal government 2009:
    Receipts: $2.106 trillion.
    Outlays: $3.515 trillion.
    Deficit: $1.409 trillion.

  5. Now that I’m grown up, I realize the best teacher I ever had was Mr Viney. He was an amazing guy, he started out every class with “ask me any question you like” – from how stereos work, telephones, you name it – before the age of the internet.
Back to my point. We all hated him. Because he tried to teach us. Which was his job.
I love that guy now, but it’s too late. Viney didn’t try direct his teaching according to polls for the purpose of improving his running popularity. Polls go up and down.
History will judge GWB (reluctantly) favourably. Bush never worried much about polls. Obama does. I bet this stings him quite a bit.
And, in the end, remember the immortal words of John Crosbie (outdated now) – “The only poll (Pole) you can trust is the pope”.

  6. “The only poll (Pole) you can trust is the pope”.
Or how about Dief’s famous line: “Only dogs know what to do with poles.”

  7. With reference to Obama’s narcissism and his need to present himself as The Pure One, and thus, constantly declare that any and all problems are due, not to him and his BackRoom Gang’s socialist agenda, but are due to Bush, Bush and Bush…
..it’s rather fun to realize that the ONLY reason that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize, a decision by five members of a political committee – is that Obama is Not-Bush.
heh. How’s that for the Obama’s Collection of Zero Accomplishments? To be given an award because you are Not-Someone Else.

  8. Is there such a thing as “Group Solipsism?” Because I think T is a member of such a group.

  9. ET:
Actually, it is obvious that they really went for it but now realize it’s a bust (since June actually)…..and they really can’t figure out what to do….brazening it out is not working out and Climate-Gate is a real disaster…..
They also realize that they are frustrated from moving further and 2010 will see it all dismantled….for generations.
They are not totally stupid, and they have seen the writing on the wall for some time(since June actually)—-hence the recent desperate moves—like the EPA CO2 ruling.
Pelossi’s outbursts (fear of armed tea-partiers) indicate they are genuinely worried that this will not keep until 2010…..indeed the EPA ruling may be a tipping point.
The lefty axis seems also genuinely concerned about a military coup.

  12. To be fair, T., Obamao said today that people might come to see the Nobel prize as more deserved when he brings about world peace in a nuclear free world. Well duh! I can only add that I’ll be ecstatic when I receive my skittle pooping unicorn.

  13. I’d also like to point out that GWB, in his own inimitable manner, already delivered a “nuclear” free world. 😉

  14. Sasquatch wrote: The lefty axis seems also genuinely concerned about a military coup.
I truly hope there is one. I would love to turn on the tv and see that false messiah being lead away in handcuffs. Along with pelosi and a few of the czars. I doubt very much it will happen though. It feels like a dark cloud has been hanging over everything since that ‘thing’ was elected. I fear even darker days lie ahead. Keep your powder dry.

  15. Obama gets the Peace prize for being a black skinned USA hater. America gets the shaft with hope & Change sermons, with bows to all its enemies. Hair shirts, high taxes, with debt it can never repay.

  16. I agree with T. bambam is right up there with..Al Gore. No BS in that dynamic duo. They richly deserve their fates.

  17. Its about time the country club Repubs release Jeb Bush for the edification of the masses. He comes with all the Arab connections in place (almost family. America needs its Muslim loving leaders.

  18. with OwebamaRahm’s numbers at 47% the other day, he set a record low for any president, since pols started
and the Delhi Lama poured a little water on the “pease prize”, stating it wuz a little early for such a giving
T could you ring up Arafart, so’s he and the O can celibrate together and more, as Arafart died of aids, we can always hopey for changy at such a union

  19. OK – here’s my prediction. I am indeed going out on a limb.
First, the Democrats and the radical socialist BackRoom Gang (BRG) who run the narcissist Salesman, Obama, have become very aware of their rapid descent in the polls. They are worried about maintaining control of Congress – which they must control – until they get their radical socialist infrastructure rammed through.
So, they are pulling back a bit. We now have Obama, their Front Man, actually supporting Afghanistan, and even, saying the T-word. He’s actually said the word ‘terrorism’. And, in his ahh..noble Nobel speech, he’s defended a ‘just war’. Watch his poll numbers slide up.
And watch him do more ‘we must protect America’ speeches – so very different from his usual apologies for being from the USA and his assurances that his skin colour, his birth, his upbringing, have removed the American Way taint from his purity.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the BRG will try to put through a basic socialist infrastructure which they will then, as they maintain control of Congress, fiddle and adapt as they strengthen it.
    That’s my first prediction.
Second, I’m going to predict that Obama won’t go for a second term. The reason is the Obama, a narcissist, isn’t interested in America or the American people. He’s not interested in doing anything for them. He’s equally not interested in foreign affairs, i.e., in doing anything for the Iranian democratic movement, for Hondurans, for anyone.
His ‘work’ is simply to be the Front Man, the public saleman, to enable the radical Democrats to slip in their socialist infrastructure.
Once he’s done that…his job is over. He’ll be bored with the day to day governance of the country; he requires constant salesman campaign scenarios.
He’ll go on..to the UN, to act as the World Ruler.
Now, IF, IF, the Democrats fail at either maintaining control of Congress, or getting their infrastructure in…they’ll dump Obama as useless to them anyway.
    Well?

  20. ET – well, if Obama decides to ascend to the EU, who else could the BackRoom Gang choose?
There are no presentable candidates, for either party.

  21. black mamba – yes, I agree; at the moment, there are no presentable candidates for either party.
It’s too soon for the Republicans to have one; their task now is to assist the American people, who are primarily centre-right, to ‘voice’ their opposition to the radical socialist agenda. And, to prepare their candidates for the 2010 elections.
My own feeling, for what it’s worth, is that the Republicans should not go for anyone now in the current limelight, i.e., no to Romney, Huckabee and even Palin. I see Palin as having an important role in being the voice, now, of conservative Americans – but not necessarily of Republicans alone. I think the Republicans need an experienced individual but not one of the current in-crowd.
As for the Democrats, of course, they can’t even whisper to or glance sideways at anyone but Obama at the moment. This won’t happen until the 2010 elections. If they retain Congress, then, they’ll keep supporting him..and it will be Obama who will drop out, because he’s bored, and because he requires constant public adulation.
If they lose Congress, then Obama will rapidly focus on the UN or the EU. I frankly doubt if he’d get the EU but…
Remember, these are just my speculations.

  22. since Obama cant govern he is turning it over to the UN and the EPA.
    Glenn Beck sound the warning.

  23. Amid the blather over President Obama, one fact remains. He won the presidency with 53 percent of the popular vote. That’s right, the crazy Maverick and the trailer-trash Alaskan governor still garnered 46 percent.
In other words, Obama’s margin remains thin. There’s a persistent 50-50 political split among the American public; Bush had to deal with it and now it’s Obama’s turn.

  24. With respect ET;
“I think the Republicans need an experienced individual but not one of the current in-crowd.”
Palin is the only one carrying the water right now for the right. She’s the only one the left are terrified of right now.And yet she is gaining strength and traction. Yes she’s a newbie. But she’s learning the ropes faster than her cohorts in the party are, specifically on why they LOST an election.
How much ink is spilled on McCain? (remember him, the alternative pres of the USA who got aprox 49% of the votes) Next to zip. And the rest of them, (Rom Huck etc.) merely talking points if they tow the party line that made them LOSE.
I’m not a rabid Palinista,But I’m not in the same camp as Kevin B and others here that outright dismiss her as a flake. She has a greater ability to attract funding from not just an untapped base, but guilt ridden independants who are coming to realize they blew it with their “hope and change” vote last time around.
Do you not think she could network her way around Washington better than some other stray the GOP tries to pick up and get primed prior to 2012?
I would so love to see Pelosi and Boxer and Snowe run out of town. They would scream the gender card if it was a man throwing them out. All Palin has to do is put a laser track on them .They’re gone.
I’m not dumping on you ET. I’m just trying to figure out who you or anyone else here thinks is going to “lead” the GOP for 2012?
I’d like to see her wait till 2016, but crises demand action. In my opinion the US is in a full blown crisis right now.

  25. G- I agree with you about Palin. I am very much in favour of her for her plain-speaking, her honesty, her genuine care for America and Americans, her warmth, her courage.
She’s far more experienced than Obama! Remember, he’s had no administrative experience. As Krauthammer said, ‘Obama has never run so much as a candy store’. Palin has been a mayor and a governor and done superbly in both.
I’m going on sheer intuition – that she has a much larger role in the next few years than confining herself to represent one party, the Republican party. I think she should represent the entire centre-right, who are made up of Independents, many Republicans, and some Democrats. These people need someone to speak out for them in a political but not a political party way. Not just Beck, Hannity doing so – but a political figure.
I think it would be a great loss to Americans if she were reduced to speaking for one political party. She’s got to speak for all Americans who are conservative, who abide by the Constitution, who love America.
So, it may sound weird, but I think Palin’s role is too important in this, admitted crisis time, for her to be hemmed in by a political party. I think what this time needs is the Voice of America – not a political party’s voice – but the people’s voice. That’s her role.
The Republicans should get their team together for 2012 after 2010. Keep Palin free as the voice of the American people.
Now – does that make sense?

“Protesters in New York carry fake coffins to mark war president Barack Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize
PEACE activists have carried mock coffins through New York to protest against President Barack Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize.
About 50 demonstrators walked from outside the United Nations to the military recruiting office on Times Square in central Manhattan.
Walking to a slow drumbeat, they carried black cardboard coffins, the first of which was draped in the US flag.
“Barack Obama does not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, especially after his recent announcement that he will escalate the war in Afghanistan,” said Will Travers, 30, who helped carry one of the coffins.

“Dear Barack, Spare Me Your E-Mails
    TruthDig
    By Robert Scheer
Barack Obama’s faux populism is beginning to grate, and when yet another one of those “we the people” e-mails from the president landed on my screen as I was fishing around for a column subject, I came unglued. It is one thing to rob us blind by rewarding the power elite that created our problems but quite another to sugarcoat it in the rhetoric of a David taking on those Goliaths.
In each of the three most important areas of policy with which he has dealt, Obama speaks in the voice of the little people’s champion, but his actions cater fully to the demands of the most powerful economic interests.
With his escalation of the war in Afghanistan, he has given the military-industrial complex an excuse for the United States to carry on in spending more on defense than the rest of the world combined, without a credible military adversary in sight. His response to the banking meltdown was to continue George W. Bush’s massive giveaway of taxpayer dollars to Wall Street, and his health care reform has all the earmarks of a boondoggle for the medical industry profiteers.
Health reform was the subject of Obama’s Tuesday e-mail, which proclaimed in its heading, “We will not back down.” Addressing me by my first name, which I assume is in acknowledgment that I, like the millions of other suckers with whom he so intimately corresponds, had contributed to his campaign, he began with a clarion call for yet another contribution, this time to donate.barackobama.com/FinalStretch.” (more)

  28. ET, I’m still hoping that Zombie Reagan can save us. But in all seriousness, Obama’s speech in Norway today was encouraging – there were a few clunkers in the speech, but by and large it was serious in nature. I think he’s growing into the position – but again – it’s only one speech (so far).
I still stick to my original position that with his failure to be able to introduce major changes quickly, he will soon retreat and become a caretaker president, which again is not necessarily good; we saw that Eisenhower didn’t achieve much through passivity.

  30. Tks ET for your insight.
I agree with the tenet of your post in that Palin is an anchor to those Americans who want their country back.
    But;
“Keep Palin free as the voice of the American people.”
Isn’t the voice of the American people supposed to be the POTUS?
    And hear lies the scenario I’m afraid of;
A third party split. Right of center.
The Dem’s are praying for it and the RINO’s are playing into it. That’s the major crisis I see looming in the shadows that will cripple the US for ages.
If Nader or some other opportunist picks up Palin’s fight and claims all the work she has done, while the GOP disses her, then watch the chaos hit the fan.
“These people need someone to speak out for them in a political but not a political party way”
That’s what Rush,Beck et al ARE doing. They are not politicians. She is one by definition.
If she goes rouge, by being forced into a third party option, in my opinion it’s all over for a good three terms.
Trust me ET, She’s the only lightning rod the right have right now. Leaving her out in the wilderness alone is a wasted opportunity for the GOP and America in general
Tks again for your valued input

  31. me @4:27 EU, UN – yikes. I’m beginning to think I never should have stuck all those crayons up my nose.

  32. No, G, I’m not talking about a third party. I was quite specific in saying that Palin should be the voice of the people – and not of one specific political party. NO third party.
The President is not currently the voice of the people. He’s the voice of the radical socialists who are now realizing that they are losing votes and so are reprogramming the puppet Obama to speak in a more centrist tone..eg, his Afghanistan military increase, his Nobel support for a ‘Just War’.
Palin ought to be the voice of centrist America, regardless of political party. She speaks for independents who will never join any party but will vote for the candidate who best represents them; she speaks for many Republicans; she speaks for some Democrats. Leave this be.
Then, as the time for the election nears, she can support various candidates around the nation, openly declaring that ‘This Person’ is Good for America. These will probably be Republicans, but her focus has to be on what is good for America. Not for a political party.
You saw her support for the Conservative rather than Republican candidate in NY; she was right; the Republican nominee, who stepped down and openly supported the Democrat, was actually a socialist and not a genuine Republican. So the Republicans should be smart next time, select conservative candidates..and have Palin publicly throw her support behind them. She’ll bring in votes from not only Republicans but also independents and Democrats. The independent vote is vital.

  33. I think that Sarah Palin fills a nice niche role as an enforcer – send her into the corners to elbow some opponents – but a finesse player she should never be, nor should she try to change
