  1. There hasn’t been a new comment added to Q&Q site for about 4 hours now. I wonder if Baghdad Bob is hiding under his desk?

  2. Bill Good is a liar.
he says he only just found out. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve e-mailed him for a week.
What a useful, limp, spineless carbon unit…..

  3. I feel sorry for Vince Carlin’s. He was so happy to report that fortunately Global human warming was real . That the deniers where wrong. The believers Religion vindicated. All this by only looking at select e-mails. So overjoyed with relief that the Planet. If these buttbars are correct, will kill billions. Excited that the MSM will not report the coding.
Just how warped can you be in service of an ideology?
Fire the CBC. Lock stop & barrel.

  4. re: The “illegal” issue
As i understand the law, and i am not a lawyer, committing an illegal act to bring a greater illegality to light can abrogate the illegality of that act.
For example, in watergate the leaks and the acts of Felt AKA “Deep Throat” were dwarfed by the crimes against the state they unveiled.
I think that the same rules apply to this leak/theft.
MAcDonald is a twerp to frame the issue the way he did. Yet another program by the CBC that I will not listen to.

  5. Martin @ 7:51: “I am pleasantly surprised to see the full list of comments published”
    ———————-
Not sure how you meant that to be interpreted, but I would like to see the full list of comments received, not just those they choose to publish. I wonder how many were left out and whether they sought to artificially balance the pros with the cons. In other words, the cons seem to be far more numerous than the pros, but I wonder whether the ratio isn’t even more unbalanced in the “raw data”. I suppose, though, that they will have discarded the original data. LOL!
I also noted that the contrarian’s comments seem to have a lot more factual statements contained in them, which would indicate to me that these people know their stuff far more than the pros do.

  6. Carte Hall @ 8:18, nah, they’ve just reached their limit of negative comments and will have to wait for a few days in order to find some more positive ones, or post some themselves under pseudonyms.

  7. “Hi Fred, I’m in the South Granville area. I’ve been collecting contact info from Vancouver SDA’ers to arrange a get together sometime. If you’re interested to join us, please drop me a line”
    I’m a Yaletowner . . not far away
    I’ll ping ya at the address . . .

  8. Louise, I know that my three (3) comments were not allowed. One of them was announcing astoishment at the ratio of “pro” to “anti” AGW poasts. Completely unlike any free blog.

I don’t listen to CKNW anymore, but if Good said he’s just found out about Climategate, then he is a liar. I too e-mailed him the weekend before last (i.e. two days after the story broke), castigating him for his settled-science opinion on AGW in light of the Climategate revelations.

  10. “”Resolution: “Climate change is mankind’s defining crisis, and demands a commensurate response.”
The case for: Elizabeth May and George Monbiot
The case against: Bjørn Lomborg and Nigel Lawson”
I’m no fan of Dizzy Lizzie or the King of the Moonbats, but at least they have the gonadal material to actually debate someone on this issue. Unlike other warmists known to drive diesel buses thousands of miles or to accept hundreds of thousands of C$ for drive-by appearances in Canada.

  11. What I found most remarkable was how Bill Good didn’t immediately understand why the term “Denier” was being – ie. to associate GW Skeptics with Holocaust Deniers. It was SO OBVIOUS! Yet he claims he didn’t know for some time “until someone pointed it out to him.”
And yet he’s supposed to be an example of our Brilliant Journalist Professionals. Egad.

  12. … didn’t immediately understand why the term “Denier” was being – ie. to associate GW Skeptics with Holocaust Deniers.”
The same thing applies to their feigned shock over using term “teabaggers”. They all understand…it’s just that they’re all pathological liars.

  13. Ron in Kelowna, that is a canned reply from Vince; which is nice, even if it is canned. I usually get zero responses from people I send e-mails to, at least Vince takes the time to e-mail back something.
I am personally surprised at how this story is sticking with almost no MSM support. I recall reading a report in 2005 predicting that blogs would be gone by 2008. Personally, I use blogs as my first level of political and technical news, the MSM as back-up. The MSM has really become that bad, and that is likely why this scandal isn’t going away; the MSM has very little moral authority left.
Also, I have been noticing canned responses in the comment sections of several blogs where the warmists claim that although the CRU is discredited, there are thousands of papers and scientists untainted by the scandal. It appears when asked to specify some papers or scientists, they can’t and start getting really defensive.
One last thought; one commentator pointed out something important about the peer-review process. It isn’t a review of the actualy data or theory, but more of a proof reading. So, in reality, saying a paper is peer-reviewed isn’t really saying it was rigorously tested.

  14. Hey Robert W (Vancouver): Bill Good is a complete joke. He’s so thick, I don’t know how he’s lasted this long on radio/TV.
So instead of listening to him, I listen to Rush Limbaugh. NO FREAKIN COMPARISON, I say!

  15. From Wikipedia :
Bob McDonald (born January 25, 1951) is a Canadian author and science journalist. He is the National Science Commentator for CBC Television and CBC Newsworld, and since 1992 has been the host of a weekly radio science show, Quirks and Quarks which draws approximately half a million listeners each week.
McDonald is not actually a scientist, although he is commonly thought to be one. His academic background includes theater, English, and philosophy.
“commonly thought to be one?” Well not by me anyway. This guy is a farking idiot

  16. Would they be infringing on copyright if they called the AGW crowd: “The Church of Climate Scientology”.
    Climate Scientologists!
Not as snappy as “denier”, but I think it’s funnier and more original…

  17. Re Bob McDonald’s academic credits: “His academic background includes theater …”
He must have got a major in theatrics as that’s pretty much all he’s presenting re AGW on Quirks and Quarks. And that’s all the CBC requires.
    FIRE. THEM. ALL.
    I. WANT. MY. MONEY. BACK.

  18. Bob Mcdonald had a show. EI EI O
And on that show he had some quacks EI EI O
With a quack quack here, and a quack quack there…
    Sorry about that.
Seriously, Bob is a waste of perfectly good carbon.

  19. Ghost of Ed: “Just checked Carlin’s site. Has he ever ruled in favour of anyone who disagreed with mother corpse? I don’t ever recall any of his decisions that went against the CBC.”
Occasionally, he’ll admit that there was a tiny breach of journalistic integrity but in the next breath he’ll point out what the “fairness,” “equality,” and “journalistic integrity” policies are at the CBC and insist that the CBC is living up to them. Twilight zone.
What would you expect? Vince Carlin went from being an employee for years at the CBC, to teaching “journalism” at Ryerson, and then was INVITED back by the CBC to be their ombudsman.
‘Conflict of interest? ‘Any chance he’s going to be objective? I wonder what big buck$ we’re paying him?

  20. I think CBC has stopped posting comments to the article – or it is taking them a very long time to put them up. Or maybe they just didn’t like my comments.

  21. Bob McDonald is more knowledgeable than 99% of the population when it comes to climate change. But don’t take his word for it, listen to the scientists on his show.
Or how about going back to school and actually learning some science?

  22. Bob McDonald is more knowledgeable than 99% of the population when it comes to climate change. But don’t take his word for it, listen to the scientists on his show.
Or how about going back to school and actually learning some science?

  23. Or how about going back to school and actually learning some science?
You mean a high school level brushup on scientific method, which our friends at the CRU have conveniently brushed aside?

  24. If Bob McDonald, AKA “Man of a Thousand Teeth”, seems knowledgable on climate change, that knowledge of his is based on FAULTY, MADE UP SCIENCE!
In other words his knowledge is based on a theory that is fast unravelling.
Yes, good for him to be so up on his “facts”, made up as they are.

  25. Martin at 7:51 – Rick Anderson is not a Conservative – he is for sale to anyone who pays him, he will say anything he is told to say – he trashes our Prime Minister in the seediest, slimiest manner; he was once on the Paul Martin ‘team’. I saw a few snippets of him (Anderson)on the CTV show (which I sometimes watch for a few minuites during Glenn Beck’s commercial breaks), the hair rose on the back of my neck – the little creep makes my skin crawl.
I agree with you, Reverent Dream, just fire them all, dump that corrupt gang at CBC, lock, stock and barrel – they are a undermining our nation, through omission to report; ironically, taxpayers are forced to pay those hacks!
That McDonald guy is just cutting and pasting from the UN site – he has not had an original thought since he went to work for msm – in fact non of msm have original thoughts; they are stuck on stupid, by design! Anyone who has attended university in the last 40 years will know that the institutions of higher learning have accepted no original thought since the dark Turdo daze. Students/teachers regurgitate the Bolshi pablum or you don’t pass/work. I found that out in 1973, things changed that year. Most of my profs at U-Vic retired or left that year – and I found myself in very strange times.
Great links orvict. Thanks again Kate and posters for the exception coverage of this scandal of the century.

  26. I just checked back and there are a lot more comments posted now. Still pretty much lambasting CBC, though. I can’t imagine how low morale must be at Mother Corpse. If it isn’t low, that must mean they are an incorrigible bunch of elitist snobs. In either case, the best cure is privatization.
    Hear that, Harper?
