  29. Even the usually balanced News Hour with Jim Lehrer, via a report by Judy Woodruff, is whitewashing Climategate: She refers to “stolen e-mails” and notes that scientists on a UN panel stand by their claims that Global Warming is caused by human beings. Duh.
    The clip lasted about 40 seconds.
    Move on, everyone. Nothing to see here.

    I’ve just had a great, very sympathetic interview about Climategate on LBC radio (London’s main commercial news and talk station) with Petrie Hosken. She told me she has been simply inundated with callers, all of them utterly unconvinced that human influence has made any significant on so-called “Global Warming”. She was desperate to get a few balancing calls from people who do believe in AGW but just couldn’t find any.
    Can you imagine this happening a year ago? Or even a month ago? Until Climategate, we “Sceptics” were considered freaks – almost as bad as Holocaust deniers – beyond the pale of reasonable balanced discussion. Suddenly we’re the norm. Climategate has finally given us the chance to express openly what many of us secretly felt all along:
    AGW is about raising taxes; increasing state control; about a few canny hucksters who’ve leapt on the bandwagon fleecing us rotten with their taxpayer subsidised windfarms and their carbon-trading; about the sour, anti-capitalist impulses of sandal-wearing vegans and lapsed Communists who loathe the idea of freedom and a functioning market economy.
    We know it’s all a crock and we’re not going to take it.
    This is our Berlin Wall moment! They can’t stop us now!

  38. I believe Mr. Harper decided to go to Copenhagen because he knows nothing will happen, not because it will. He loves to travel, and it shows well on the TV news. Plus, of course, he is more than a little invested in the whole thing already, so it is not like he is compromising same values he hasn’t already violated. Only when we see a majority Harper government will we know – holiday camps or reeducation camps?

  45. Comments on the CTV website on anything related to climate change/ Copenhagen, people are mentioning the data that has been made available, and how the MSM is failing to report it.
    I’m sorry to say this but now I know why governments and corporations don’t want people to have guns. It is because they don’t want to be held accountable for their actions. An unarmed scared populace is easier to control than an armed scared populace.
    I think we are so screwed in the long run.

  46. I don’t post here very often, if at all, but this reminds me of the faked Bush National Guard evasion of service before the 2004 election. Dan Rather and his producer would have gotten away with it, except that the blogosphere proved that they had bought into a smear campaign.
    The MSM is trailing the pack on this (with some exceptions like the National Post) and will end up looking like idiots, once again.

    On Charles Adler yesterday, he said, emphatically, that the blogsphere is a way ahead of the MSM on climategate.
    Just think about it. His colleagues hearing that. From one of their own.
    If Lorrie receives threats he should let the country know about it.
    Tim Ball had many threats but remained silent.
    Patrick Moore also had threats and innuendo but did not stay silent.

  50. It’s interesting that the Russian media is at the point on this one. It was also the Russian Academy of Sciences which years ago called, “Bull***t” on the whole AGW nonsense (along with the Geophysical Union of India), but didn’t make a big stink when the politicians in Russia pointed out that there were potentially big bucks to be made by ratifying Kyoto.
