   VDH has missed an important point. On the 19th of August, as we were getting news that a signed deal was imminent, Vance stood at a microphone in Southampton NY and said two things that effectively screwed any chance of success: (a) Poilievre had been a “non-entity” during the entire process, and (b) bobblehead Carney had tried to “out-tough” Trump, but that Trump had shown him who was the tougher guy.

   Within 24 hours Canada’s media was headlining Vance’s comments, and I told my wife, “There’ll be no deal. After Vance saying that Trump spanked bobblehead, It would be political suicide for him to bring home a signed deal. And Pee-pee isn’t going to raise hell because Vance just called him a”nothing”. And within another day or two my prediction came to pass.

   1. Marx Carnage’s and Pee Pee’s anti-Trump rhetoric during the 2025 election didn’t help either. But we always conveniently forget the first shot and rush to condemn the return fire.

      2. Nobody is forgetting the first shots. They quite possibly contributed to Vance’s decision to say what he did, when he did. But my point is this: given his history and experience and straightforward character, it is extremely unlikely – perhaps inconceivable – that he said it without first considering the possible outcomes.
