  1. Interesting. It has long been speculated that B Branch of the RCMP had been infiltrated, but perhaps not:
    the presence of SIS personnel, and in particular the egregious Kim Philby, was not well known to the public.
    James Bond was in Naval Intelligence, not SIS. His
    creator was a genuine intelligence officer who worked in the office of DNI.
    We have much to owe the Philby family. Kim’s treasons, at least some of them, probably altered
    the course of history. As for his father, St. John Philby assisted in the creation
    of Saudi Arabia. T.E. Lawrence seems to have detested him.
    I believe that St. John Philby was a convert
    to Islam – much ahead of his time.
    A pity that the Philbys, father and son, died in their beds.

  2. foobert – Greatest. Zither Music. Evah. (But with these guys, it was rarely a case of Pussy Galore.)
    At least Philby died a broken, wretched alcoholic in exile in the Soviet Union; the same life to which he helped condemn so many others.
