Captain, every day at school before class started we started out by singing our national anthem, and we also said the Lord’s Prayer.
Now, that the time, I was quite the little religious zealot – but nevertheless I refused to join in the class prayer.

That video is getting wide ciruculation on the Internet and prominence on Fox news, which Americans actually watch. The you-know-what is about to hit the fan. Americans do not engage in “dear leader” worship and do not want their impressionable kids doing it either. The part that needs special attention imo is the little boy doing the solo. If all those kids had to do what he did until they got it right, that is a big deal.

This is not an isolated case. The indoctrination of students in Canada toward a Marxist mindset, especially in the social sciences, has gone in Canada for a couple of decades. It is just a little more covert here.
In a somewhat related vein of indoctrination, last year my 12 y/o daughter’s class was shown Al Gore’s flick. Afterwards, she suggested that there were alternative arguments to AGW and the teacher, instead of encouraging her, summarily dismissed her suggestion as nonsense.

Captain- Your assessment of teachers is identical to my own. Never, never put 100% of your trust in anyone, when it comes to your kids’ upbringing.
I remember when Mike Harris was premier of Ontario. The teachers had their students boo him at a Jays game. Later that week my friends daughter told us the Mike Harris threw a poor family from their school out on the street. She was about 9.

I recall that , during the second wave of environmental hysteria (circa 1989), the school boards in the Victoria area allowed green/red whackos from the WWC, Green-Peace and others to lecture and miss-inform students on the evils of forestry. The same school boards banned publications from the “neutral” forest service. I doubt that I could stomach one day’s exposure to what the kids get shoveled now.
