There quite a few American law breakers in jails around the world. I wonder if they can expect the same government intervention, that these two journalists recieved.
Note that they were pardoned by Kim as well – not simply released in to American custody.

I’m glad the two Americans were released. Unfortunately, the other 20 or 30 million hostages in North Korea (whatever the population is) are still locked up.

Obama should have just sold the North Koreans weapons to earn the journalists release and then funneled the proceeds to finance an illegal war. That’s what heroes do.
It always amazes me at how much better the Americans are at getting their people out of thorny situations than is our Canadian government.
Note this is not a comment on whether or not people always deserve to be rescued from thorny situations.
Rather my point is simply that were I stuck in some tinpot part of the world, being held by some tinpot regime, I’d prefer at that moment to be an American because I know my chances of getting rescued are much higher.

You need to take a look at what kind of a Canadian you are for that statement to be accurate! Obviously, race, ethnicity and religious affiliations depend 100% on the type of assistance you would receive from the Canadian government.
Take the Lebanese dual citizens during the Israeli slap down for example!

The one young woman is a younger sister to a woman who was on the view, think her name is Lisa Ling. Lisa now works for National Geographic doing documentary type shows, she herself had already done a story from inside N.Korea a couple of years ago, watched it.
