It’s as though they all have something in common.
UN report examines Arab world obstacles – A new report by more than 100 independent intellectuals and scholars from Arab countries blames political, economic, social and environmental problems for undermining the lives and freedom of Arabs — coupled with the region’s vulnerability to outside intervention.

In other news, 100 former Arab intellectuals have been beheaded for criticizing just about everything in the Arab world.
Strange, all these learned people can’t see the forrest because of the trees in their immediate sight.
Naw. In proof of their loyalty to Islam?
They should be appearing shortly shopping in markets, going to schools and attending calls to prayer.
In my world it’s spelled Muhammad
Firstly, I am skeptical right at the outset where it is suggested that there are as many as 100 intellectuals in the Arab world.
Nextly, It appears that the Arabs are blaming the realities of life for ruining their lives.
These people live in the same twisted world as Obama’s biggest fans.
“coupled with the region’s vulnerability to outside intervention.
Problem is,we haven’t intervened in the right way, with nukes. Typical UN crap, blame everybody but the ones responsible for the problems.
Is this something like when George Forman named all his kids George ?
,
My computer must not be working right. Nowhere can I find the words “Muslim,” “Islam,” or “theocracy” in the article.
On the other hand, it’s multi-culturally heartening that the report confirms the majority of “Arab World” problems are not of the Arabs’ own making.
If only the worlds’ few million jews would disappear then the worlds’ billion muslims would leave in peace, prosperity and harmony.
Political, economic, social and environmental problems? Here’s some crazy ideas, so crazy they just might work – rule of law, private property, equality of sexes and races, freedom of speech and religion, capitalism. And who knows, they just might cure your outside intervention problem.
Fritz, the Arabs would only be happy with the Jews gone, if they could then ‘solve’ the Christian and none Christian issue.
Once we all cower under the same boot, then the Arab world would be at peace.
“…region’s vulnerability to outside intervention”
Yeah, I’m sick of my tax dollars going to waste too.
Kathryn said “Here’s some crazy ideas, so crazy they just might work – rule of law, private property, equality of sexes and races, freedom of speech and religion, capitalism.”
Those ideas would no doubt solve just about all the Arabs problems. I say that as soon as we implement those ideas in Canada and the US we talk about exporting them to the Middle East.
I get the feeling though that we are becoming more like them than they are of us. Perhaps we’ll meet in the middle somewhere. We’ll call that place Toronto.
I trust they will find the root of the problem…..Inshallah
What’s the first brother’s name? Larry? Nah, that’s the guy with two brothers named Darryl…
“100 independent Arab intellectuals and scholars”
Well that must have taken some doing.
“A new report by more than 100 independent intellectuals and scholars from Arab countries”
gives the problem right there: intellectuals and scholars from Arab countries. No industrialists,
no one with hands that are stained with honest work.
There is next to no industry in the Arab world (note *Arab*;
the Persians, Pakistanis and Turks are more advanced). Inter alia this means that
the Arabs can’t produce their own weapons: all of those AK47s, RPGs, etc. which
they love to wave around
are all manufactured
elsewhere and imported at considerable cost. The
best the Arabs have been able to do are the
crude rockets used in the Gaza Strip.
So of course they will be
vulnerable to outside interference.
To what extent is this a fault of sharia banking?
One of the major tasks to be accomplished
in a large project, such as the building of a
big factory or development
of a new product, is capital formation. The
publicly traded limited
corporation can do this with facility.
I would doubt that sharia banking is capable of
much in this regard. It might work for small
shopkeepers, but after that? Forget it.
Here is a great example of Arabic/ Islamic justice.
Young virgins are forced to marry prison guards the night before their execution. They are then “legitimately” raped by their new husbands and free to be executed as non-virgins in the eyes of allah.

It begs the question, why are so many virgins on death row these days, no?
This is my brother Muhammed who is also my cousin and this is my other brother Muhammed who is also my uncle. We are a close family.

This seems to be one case where the trend is not your friend.
The article said this: ”A major challenge in the coming years will be finding about 51 million new jobs by 2020, most to absorb young people “who will otherwise face an empty future,”
Well…I guess it’s rather obvious. Declare a WAR!! I mean, what else can they do with 51 million men? Build pyramids??
The report claims “vulnerable to outside intervention”………..yea right! That is a ridiculous statement on many levels.
Intervene in what? Before the discovery and production of oil and gas by western countries it was a region of nomadic desert dwelling tribes raping and killing each other as they had been doing for thousands of years. Now they are rich well financed killers and pedophiles killing each other and us when they can. Nothing has changed whatsoever in their ideologies by western influence, it’s quite the opposite. There is not 1 material thing commonly used by Arabs today that is western (99.9% of what they own) that they would give up, we certainly do not influence them ideologically.
The report has stated that the Arabic population “in the region” has risen from 150 million in 1980 to a projected 395 million by 2015 the majority of which is under 25 years old. That is just the region, what about the millions upon millions of imports to the western world, which is also the fastest growing demographic? What terrible western influence has allowed useless desert nomads with no water, produced exports of any kind, education or technical prowess, wealthy and healthy enough to almost triple in size within 35 years? Again that is JUST Arab countries.
The United Nations is a scam! It is a fraudulent bureaucracy bent on power and control. It wishes to repress and enslave the third world through starvation and welfare handouts, managing it with paid for dictators and by its multinational army (your army & your tax dollars).
It manages us by taxation, political correctness and socialization. They weaken our financial power and economy by forcing us to take-in million and millions of third world peoples, thus weakening us on every level and creating disharmony.
I am just laughing at all this from my cubical. Will anyone DO anything or will just keep whining?
fred, i don’t think there are 100 on the planet. there are over 1 billion slaves to islam though.
aaron. no. it will require violence. most are cowards and will do nothing.
These are problems Arabs must come to grips with and solve themselves. It doesn’t help when we cater to them, however.

“These are problems Arabs must come to grips with and solve themselves.”
Bingo!
The problem is that they haven’t solved their “issues” translated as culture & ideology in 5000 years of desert nomadic life, and the doubly problematic issue with Islam in the last 1300 years. Desert nomadic life obviously seems to require a cast system of oppressors at the top, subjugation of women and allot of bloodletting.
The unfortunate reality for us now, is that they need to solve their “problems” in our streets by the millions. As it turns out their biggest problem is us – how to solve that by their doctrine is demographic displacement and ideological change in us, with violence added and honored as required……… of course. Not a sane solution by our standards, which apparently are meaningless in the “Global Village”.
Make the middle east a glass bowl will be a great start.
Right amount of violence applied to the right persons at right time solves many problems. This is one of the principles on which my kids are being brought up. Good luck to the West, which sees better fit to go after legal gun owners.
“Nextly, It appears that the Arabs are blaming the realities of life for ruining their lives.”
nicely put.
“If only the worlds’ few million jews would disappear then the worlds’ billion muslims would leave in peace, prosperity and harmony.”
Why stop with appeasing the muzzies, if only the worlds few million white-guys would disappear then everyone would be happy, live in peace, prosperity and harmony.
Although, that may increase the proportion of First Nations in jail which would just be another victimization of the First Nations(or blacks in the states) by the white man.
“Once we all cower under the same boot, then the Arab world would be at peace.” -Arron
Arab unity; oxymoron for the ages.

“….., if only the worlds few million white-guys would disappear then everyone would be happy, live in peace, prosperity and harmony”.
Yea, of course if that were true, Hispanics and blacks wouldn’t be killing each other in California
– Shiite killing Sunni in the Middle East
– Indian’s verses Pakistani
– Hutus & Tutsis in Rwanda
– Armenians in Turkey
– Khmer Rouge in Cambodia
– The Rape of Nanking by the Japanese (along with other WW2 atrocities across Asia).
Alone Muslim “major” conflicts around the world currently include (Afghanistan, Bosnia, Côte d’Ivoire, Cyprus, East Timor, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kashmir, Kosovo, Kurdistan, Macedonia, The Middle East, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Chechnya (Russia), Sudan, Thailand, Uganda.
Minor conflicts or uprisings include – China, Australia, France, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, and the UK along with a smattering of East European countries such as Romania etcetera…….
Pending conflict countries will be Canada & the US as Canadians we have already witnessed mass demonstrations in Toronto streets calling for the extermination of Israel, tolerance in the streets of illegal terrorist groups, attempted assassination of our Prime Minister and foiled terrorist plots. The US has 9/11 and counting……………
Yes if “white guys” disappear everyone would get along and be happy!
A good place to put a large parking lot … or IKEA store would be 760 United Nations Plaza, New York, NY.
Let the tin pot marxists host and pay for their own little clubhouse.
Frankly I don’t see where Arab societies are that much different from our own, and I certainly don’t think Arabs are any different from us. Many people from places like theirs do well in the west, and I say more power to them.
The solution to all societal problems is acceptance of the moral principle that no person has the right to initiate the use of force on any other person.
“Frankly I don’t see where Arab societies are that much different from our own, and I certainly don’t think Arabs are any different from us.”
And really, if you set aside, well, everything, that’s largely true.
I realize I posted something similar to what follows a few months back, but it think it bears repeating:
There are more books translated into portuguese every YEAR than have been translated into arabic since the DAWN OF TIME. Imagine being a highly intelligent individual in the Middle East (imagine Kate being born and raised in Egypt for example) and only having the opportunity to become literate in Arabic. Imagine how either frustrated or cloistered/warped you would be/feel.
If Bill Gates or the UN was truly interested in imprving the lives of the most people for the fewest dollars, spending 50 million a year translating as many books, magazines, journals etc. as possible into Arabic would improve the lot of billions of people who speak and read it and billions more of those people’s neighbours over the long haul. (for Mr. Gate’s safety I would recommend he set it up by making an anonymous donation.

You’ve spent allot of time in Arab societies I take it? if so where, and for how long?
Knight-I have;Pakistan, Bangladesh, East Timor(cleaning-up), India, and S. Philippines. I can pretty much tell that nv53 hasn’t.
