  1. Steyn makes and excellant point.
Although as shown elsewhere coincidence is not neccessarilly proof of causation…….

  2. Here in Saskatchewan, the unionized janitorial people will not clean a room if it’s too dirty, leaving nursing staff to do the bulk of the icky work.

  3. It is hard to take seriously a nation, where the nurses arrive at work already dressed in hospital uniforms. Back in retarded USSR medical personnel changed into the uniforms at workplace. It was quite a shock for me to arrive in Canada and see a nurse on a bus wearing uniforms.
When those deaths occurred in Ottawa hospital it was a big surprise for you, Canadian folks, but a no shit Sherlock for me.
Say once again thanks to Turdoe, he and his gang changed Canada forever and there is no going back unless you, “conservatives”, take back education. I am not holding my breath.

  4. Only 41% could recognize Sir John A.? Talk about a need to sterilize a large chunk of the population.
Kate, is there documentation to support the post at 1:19? I’d be curious to read about it.

  5. That’s odd, the biography of St. Tommy forgot to mention the hiring of scabs to break the doctors’ strike.
Wait a minute! Aren’t scabs, their employers, and supporters considered abominations in socialist dogma?

  6. Didn’t Mr. Mustache, Jack Layton recently go to Washington to spread a little Tommy on the Big O machine?

  7. the same guy who wanted to sterilize the retarded so they would not infect the population at large. one stupid human being.

  8. Being 62 I am trying to remember just when T. Douglas and his party were in power so that they could bring in medicare.

  9. My mum (an English-speaking, Commonwealth-educated nurse whose abilities were apparently not up to snuff because only Canadians know how to apply bandages or change IVs) noticed the state of Canadian hospitals when she arrived and often ragales us with stories of how privately-run Catholic hospitals were clean and filled with caring nursing staff who helped everyone, sick or well, Catholic or not. One can’t get that here.
By the way, Tommy Douglas did NOT introduce Medicare into Canada. It was Matthew Anderson, a native Norwegian (info obtained from The Great Canadian Trivia Book by Randy Ray and Mark Kearney). Not that this matters as the lie has been spread and no one can identify a Canadian icon, any way.

  10. I used to wonder why people would dig up dead people for a trial, than burn them in an auto de fee of rage. I don’t anymore!
Consider the damage this man has done with his “good Intentions”. Before at least we had the chance to live even if we ended up broke. Today unless your in the Elite you get rationed medicine by accountants with no medical knowledge, along with bureaucrats enforcing life or death based on age & identity politics. With the full power of the instrumentalities of the Polity behind them.
Yup, I can see why they burned former tormenters, even dead.

  11. Osumashi Kinyobi I can attest to the cleanliness of what happened to be a “Catholic” run hospital where I did my “training” to become a nurse. That was a few years ago when nurses wore crisp white and
clean shoes and cleaning staff did their jobs with pride. When one walked into that hospital it was obvious it wasn’t a bus stop.

Carolyn Bennett was my doctor for two years in Toronto
    before she went to parliament
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolyn_Bennett
and last time I saw her she was shopping very nice dress and she was good kind and doctor who care about her patient a lot
I did not follow her since then
but I do not think I like all her ideas and I
surprised when I saw her in gay pride
Most politician pretend they like gays that is reason individual freedom will taken from you if you join parties!
    ====
My points and comments shocked the Canada too
which was ‘new’ for them and some can not handle to hear opposition
later I noticed peopel in each group do not pay attention or like to hear opposition point of view as we all embrasment few days ago over security argument in thier chair talks
I still do not trust about political parties structure in general that can limit you to
    Take individual freedom of speech
Otherwise I did helped so many people and like public me
Remember me and my views one day you will get it

  13. Let’s just stop with the statues and busts, and other memorials to our so called great men and women .. it about ten years no one remembers who they are and they simply don’t teach shit in school anymore. They do continually tell students how smart and special and deserving they are of a free no fault life.
In other words … YOU DON’T NEED KNOW TO ANYTHING TO BE A GOOD SOCIALIST … IN FACT THE LESS YOU KNOW, THE EASIER IT IS TO CONTROL YOU AND SELL YOU THE BIT LIES.
When the state Comedian did his “Talking to Americans” the big joke was how little they know about what was going on in the world around them. Turns out they are as stupid as he made them out to be … they voted in a commie negro idiot with a big grudge against white people, freedom, capitalism and self-reliance.
    Go figure.

  14. I almost, and I say almost, kind of sort of agree with new on this one. That is, if I understood him correctly.
    I’m not sure but….maybe

  15. new
I often hear people criticize partisans for being just that. I’m in the minority, but I believe it’s actually the partisans that have a real say in public policy. If you disagree with your party’s direction or stance the only way to change it is from within. So called moderates can only choose a turd or a douche whereas the partisans decide if it’s a runny turd or if it’s full of nuts.
    good comments new.

  16. The main beneficiary of our health care system are unions . . . which is why Whacko Jacko is so keen on having as many of us die in waiting lines so his main backers get richer while working less.
There is no such thing as an efficient monopoly . . . they people on the inside have no incentive to change, to get better, to work smarter. Their main goal isn’t to help the users of the system, their goal is make their liplock on the public teat a permanent fixture.
Douglas, Taliban Jack and Health Care unions . . . killing you and me one waiting list and one line up at at time.

  17. I recall about 10 or so years back.
A friend’s wife was going to go back to nursing.
    She busted her hump studying.
She failed because the questions were union oriented. The real stuff that was actually related to patient care? She knew inside out.
Yep. Tommy didn’t die soon enough.

  18. Catch 22. In BC you can opt out of medicare. the only problem is that medicare is a closed shop. You are not allowed to get real medical treatment in BC unless you first bend over and grab your ankles.
The civil service is dead, long live the civil taskmasters.
    Thank you Tommy

  19. Here in Saskatchewan, the unionized janitorial people will not clean a room if it’s too dirty, leaving nursing staff to do the bulk of the icky work.
Gotta call bullsh*t on that one.
And Curious at 7:48 pm, I think you’re full of it, too.

  20. Off topic but huge news. Sarah Palin announced that she is resigning as governor in 3 weeks. She announces it on a Friday and on a long weekend yet.
MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell (I know–take it with a grain of salt) claims she has sources that Palin out of politics for good–she wants to raise her family.
However Palin told her supporters to “trust her” with this decision, and feels she can help better without the restrictions of being a Governor (especially in Alaska).
Mark Levin claims that she will now be freer to travel to the lower 48 states, and make herself more available. Try to shake that “she’s way out there in the boonies Alaska” tag.
I hope Levin is correct. Sarah Palin is a populist; imagine her showing up at a Tea Party and whipping up the crowd.
And the left hates her with a rabid fury because they see her as a threat to them. Think about it.

  21. I’d stand in a court and swear under threat of perjury that happened.
And yes. I am full of it. Full of a strong dislike for Socialists and their associated ilk.

  22. Two years ago–I picked up a friend at Regina General hospital. (14th ave.) My buddy was recovering from an accident he had to go the lab to get one final test before we left for home.
A cleaning lady shows up. My buddy had packed everything a duffle bag that was laying in the middle of the private room. She mops around the bag and was about to leave the room.
I was sitting in the armchair reading a mag.
I was atd u7pset. “Aren’t you going to clean under the bag,” asked “I?” She was really irate, and until I got up and moved the bag, she wasn’t going to return.
None of the floor under the bed or the chairs was cleaned. I wrote to the board–to this day–I’ve never been given an answer.

  23. Out here in the Left Coast the cleaning situation was similar. I remember a friends brother who’s room was so dirty under the bed, etc. that his relatives cleaned the room.
The B.C. Government fired them all and hired contractors. (You could hear the union crying from the highest mountain) This did not seem to work out instantly but in a recent visit to Delta Hospital, I was impressed with the cleanliness.
And the Catholic hospitals were superb both in care and cleanliness.

  24. Carcano at 1:29pm.
Interesting observation, medical staff in the great dirty outdoors in their uniforms. My wife has railed about this for years.
My pet peeve is docs outdoors with their stethescopes (sp?) seemingly saying “I’m a doctor … (and I want my sausages)”.
Yes to Catholic hospitals and also private Catholic schools which are a good alternative for folks with limited financial resources.

  25. There are three necessities in life – food (see below), clothing (thanks, Walmart) and shelter (check – done that). Healthcare? Doesn’t seem to be on the list. Must be a marketing thing, considering the ludicrous amounts of money involved.
You people that need medical care – good luck to you. For someone like me that doesn’t need it (and I’m getting on in years), my only way for compensating for the cash the government steals from me to buy all you sick peoples’ votes is to keep my consumption to a minimum, especially now we are in an economic downturn. Fortunately in my state they don’t tax grocery consumption (but I still gotta pay all the hidden taxes – I’m working hard on that).
By the way, speaking of janitors that can’t clean and hospital infections running amok: Since healthcare is a big union, medical/government monopoly thing, do you think we will ever hear the truth about it? Nope – I’m staying away…that’s for sure. I’ll stick to my diet and exercise, thank you. And when that doesn’t work, maybe it just might possibly be time to move on, don’t you think? God just might be trying to tell me something. Sorry you Union/doctor/insurance company/gummint employees won’t get your expected cut.

  26. Being 62 I am trying to remember just when T. Douglas and his party were in power so that they could bring in medicare.

Douglas, the first leader of the NDP, held the balance of power in Pearson’s 2 minority governments from April 22, 1963, until April 20, 1968, involving elections in 1963 and 1965.

  27. Thanks to Tommy Douglas it is against the law to buy healthcare. Oh well I guess I will just have to go spend my money on smokes, booze and hotdogs 🙂
