I’ll say it again – if the so-called “Health” regions wish to continue shoveling millions of “free” needles into the dead-ender community, they should be legally obligated to have each and every one identified with a bar code.
Then, when the day comes that someone or their child suffers a needle prick they didn’t sign up for, the source can be traced and the enlightened progressives responsible for transforming the city parks into free range infection zones can be sued into the oblivion they so richly deserve.
One little bar code, and I guarantee the current drug dealer support and subsidization program dressed up as “needle exchange” would come to a screeching halt.
Call your city counselor, call your MLA.

Did I miss something? We call them ‘can pumps’, the suction bowl (intake) is down where the liquid happens; the motors and controls go up where the operators/maintenance don’t have to wade through excrement or wear scuba gear.
I’m pretty sure one junkie could singlehandedly put a stop to one of these hazards to public health, were he to turn up nearby in the morning, cut in two.
glasnost and Robert W, I wasn’t actually being ironic. The liberal retards who run that program really did expect the junkies to put the needles in the box. That’s why the box is behind the bushes, because that’s where they shoot up.
The liberal committee in charge examined the litter problem and “reasoned” that by putting the box behind the bushes it would be more convenient and the poor victims wouldn’t be all intimidated by having to be seen putting the used needle in the box.
This is because the liberal committee members are nice, conscientious, middle class white women with a university education. Nurses mostly.
They’ve never seen an actual junkie “in the wild” in their entire frickin’ lives. They see the ones who have been straightened out and tidied up first in the emergency room.
What makes them retards is they won’t listen to cops, firemen and ambulance paramedics who sponge these freaks off the pavement every night. They won’t listen to guys like me who have had to duke it out with these friggin’ vampires in the street. (They don’t feel pain when you hit them! Its scary as hell.)
Ask a fireman if he thinks the junkies will use the needle box. I guarantee you he will laugh. Or spit.
And yet, year after year these same RETARDS are chosen to populate these committees where the public health money gets spent. Their methods are never questioned, their results are never audited, their budgets are never reduced. Because we keep electing the same goofs, and they keep picking their friends for these jobs.
Tax cut is the only thing that can break the iron circle that keeps all this stuck. Stop feeding the liberal retards and they will starve.
I fully support the needle exchange program. In more enlightened societies and in many European countries drug addiction is treated as a medical problem and the criminal justice depts. do not get involved. For example, Portugal no longer prosecutes drug possession, even that of narcotics, rather they deal with the addict as a person who is in need of medical attention. The insite injection program in Vancouver is showing great results in helping addicts with counselling and also in the prevention of diseases by providing a clean, sterile needle. This also helps lessen the number of needles on the streets. Mr. Harper attempted to shut this down, fortunately a judge saw fit to grant the injunction against that. Mr. Harper, there is a story, at least he is continuing to go down in the polls.

Even though this comment was obviously made out of ignorance, it is still beyond offensive.
As someone who has witnessed a family member struggle with drug addiction, I have seen the many shortcomings of the system. An addict must enter detox voluntarily or he/she will not be accepted. After he/she is cleansed of the crap, the addict is sent home to wait for an opening in a rehab centre. More often than not, the wait is a long one. And what invariably happens to the addict while they wait …. he/she relapses. And why must he/she wait….because there is not sufficient funding to provide the required help. And why is the funding insufficient….because health districts are too busy throwing money at stupid, politically-correct, feel-good, ineffective programs like the one you are so supportive of.
And why do various organizations promote such lunacy…because if these ridiculous programs were stopped, the funding would dry up.
People such as you and the left-wing, bureaucratic nitwits that administer such programs are a big part of the drug addiction problem that we face today. You perpetuate the situation and create nothing but chaos.
Until the day arrives when common sense once again overtakes stupidity, the nightmare of drug addiction will only continue to grow.
