  1. I just love the idiots who accuse her of not being a “real” woman. I seem to remember a similar crowd trying to tell me that Condoleza Rice wasn’t “really” black. And then they dare to accuse conservatives of racism and sexism.

  2. Smelly old hippy Naomi Lakritz bovinely types in her Calgary Herald column today:
‘A former small-town mayor who is so clueless about foreign policy that war with Russia sounds like fun…’

  3. Dems have Hollywood on their side
Dems have MSM on their side
    Obama raises more campaign $
Obama is #2 in donations from Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae
Obama and McCain are even in the polls

  4. Well ya know, there is a silver lining to all this Palin Bashing, now there is no transparency for the cats on the left who are bought and paid for.

  5. Yeah, I always go to Bill Maher for my daily dose of wisdom and common sense.
And is Naomi Lakritz reacting to Palin, or the Tina Fey impression of her on Saturday Night Live?
Remember folks – as Kathy says, they’re our intellectual and moral superiors.

  6. I was invited to dinner the other night. A divorced BC Teacher at the table spouted derisively about Palin.
Editing out the curses and wild statements, her problem with Sarah seemed to be that Sarah wanted to control said teachers menopausal body. I asked her if controlling people was wrong, and got the usual of course reply. Then I asked her if it isn’t true that pro-abortion laws control parents who don’t want their 17 year old daughters to get an abortion. Her proud response was that 14 year olds can get an abortion in defiance of their parents wishes….. ha ha.
She declared game set match and with head held hight left for the ladies room.

  7. Based on Lakritz’ view of the CHRC that I read I don’t think she’d last 20 seconds in a debate with Sarah Palin.

  8. Bill Maher River Vale NY population in 2000 under 10,000. When he was growing up it must have been really small which I guess means he has a really small mind?

  9. Obviously, Obama was not vetted closely enough otherwise there would not be genuine concerns about his place of birth and his connections with the Muslim world and with terrorist groups – not to mention a seemingly endless unexplained supply of money which keeps coming his way.

  10. the political left are terrified of Sarah Palin because she’s a real conservative and the electorate like her
by selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate, McCain has demonstrated that he is capable of making great decisions

  11. It is completely un-American to hold the view that only the elite are fit to govern.
The American dream used to be that any little boy could grow up to be president. Now it’s that any American child can grow up to be president, thanks to Sarah Palin.
My French-Canadian girlfriend was deriding Sarah Palin for only having a high school diploma. Turns out Sarah has a BA in Journalism, coincidentally, the chosen profession of both parents of my gf. They both worked for the CBC, so I guess her indoctrination is no surprise.

  12. You would be wise to accept that there’s going to be a certain amount of “hocus pocus” in every normal human’s makup. As forPalin’s Chritian hocus pocus, what little I’ve heard seems quite normal and not anywhere near ‘fundamentalist’. No books were banned from Alaska libraries, ‘abstinence only’ is not taught in Alaska schools, children from homes where creationism is taught should be allowed to discuss it in school when eveolution is presented (it might lead them to knowledge and open their minds to science). Anyway, Palin on her Christianity:
‘I would never presume to know God’s will or to speak God’s words.
But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that’s a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God’s side.
That’s what that comment was all about, Charlie. And I do believe, though, that this war against extreme Islamic terrorists is the right thing. It’s an unfortunate thing, because war is hell and I hate war, and, Charlie, today is the day that I send my first born, my son, my teenage son overseas with his Stryker brigade, 4,000 other wonderful American men and women, to fight for our country, for democracy, for our freedoms.
Charlie, those are freedoms that too many of us just take for granted. I hate war and I want to see war ended. We end war when we see victory, and we do see victory in sight in Iraq.
GIBSON: I take your point about Lincoln’s words, but you went on and said, “There is a plan and it is God’s plan.”
PALIN: I believe that there is a plan for this world and that plan for this world is for good. I believe that there is great hope and great potential for every country to be able to live and be protected with inalienable rights that I believe are God-given, Charlie, and I believe that those are the rights to life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
That, in my world view, is a grand — the grand plan.
GIBSON: But then are you sending your son on a task that is from God?
PALIN: I don’t know if the task is from God, Charlie. What I know is that my son has made a decision. I am so proud of his independent and strong decision he has made, what he decided to do and serving for the right reasons and serving something greater than himself and not choosing a real easy path where he could be more comfortable and certainly safer.’

  13. “Who said she’s evil? Yet another small dead straw man?? She is simply, completely unqualified to be a heartbeat away from the office of president of the USA.”
uhh….if you read the list of quotes you’d have seen that that bitch Margret Cho called her evil. As for being “a heartbeat away from the president” how the hell do you explain Snoboma who actually wants to be that heartbeat.
She’d had executive experience as both a mayor and governor. Obamas executive experience is well…..not a sweet f*cking thing.

  14. Without leftards, I may be inclined to suggest that Palin isn’t my cup of tea.
But the more leftards speak, the more I hope Palin wins.
I’d rather deal with social conservatives (who do not represent my way of thinking) than a$$hole leftards (who are opposed to everything I stand for) any day of the week.
As a libertarian, I would hope that Palin doesn’t try to jam through any so-con religious stuff. I can support her because as governor of Alaska, she made exactly ZERO attempts to do so.
Leftards are just scum. Hypocritical, evil (in the secular, all-too-human meaning of the word) POS scum.
In other words, I don’t like so-con policy. I loath and hate leftards. May the so-con win.

  15. Kyla:
Ask your girlfriend about Harry Truman. He only had a high school diploma, and he turned out ok.
In my experience – and I’m a university professor – a degree is just a first-order indicator of one’s abilities; it’s a winnowing credential, and has at best high correlation to one’s true abilities.
What matters, of course, are those true abilities and sensibilities, and here I’m solidly behind Sarah Palin.

  16. In general, conservatives think liberals are naive, impractical, and cowardly. Liberals think that conservatives are stupid, bigoted, and evil.
I think they’re both correct. Only us libertarians know what we’re doing.
    (ducks for cover)

  17. It is very good for people to contemplate something bigger thsn themselves, sort of an Alcoholics-Anonymous style ‘supreme being’, something big, something good, something not centered on you. This aspect of human nature takes many forms and there’s very good reasons why Christianity is one of the most successful. By the way, socialist collectivism is NOT good spirituality.
But hey, I’m feeding a troll, I’ll stop now, the internet provides a constant flow of freaks advocating the eradication of religion.

  18. The only thing that surprises me, after more than a decade of trashing Christians/evangelicals/Jews, is why any of them still belong to either the Democrat party in the US, or the Liberal/NDP parties here at home.
I mean seriously, how long does the writing have to be on the wall? Not only is your opinion not valued, it is not wanted and it is the target of open derision. You need to be honest with yourself; your political party wants to leave you behind, why are you still fighting that?

  19. Those high-paying government jobs loading Christians and Jews into boxcars isn’t coming along any time soon, thank God…

  20. Every one of those comments was a purely personal attack, based on the facts that Sarah Palin is a) a woman, b) a mother and c) not born with a silver spoon in her mouth. I cannot imagine a male candidate ever being attacked this way.
I mean, Robert Kennedy had ELEVEN kids – did anyone, anywhere, even suggest that his parental duties would interfere with his political ones!

  21. RE: abortion
I overheard a great exchange between my husband and my 35 yr/o niece the other day. She was going on and on about it was her body and no one, especially a MAN could tell her what to do with it. Hubby calmly looked at her “thank you.. that’s exactly the attitude and message that allows us men to walk away scott free and feel no responsiblity. Men keep hearing that it’s your body and you will do as you damn well please with it and if you damn well please to get preggers then it’s no wonder a guy thinks it’s not his problem. Good job convincing all those guys out there that they have no responsibily”. My niece shut up and literally could not think of a come back.

  22. The more low and negative attack articles about Sarah Palin the better. I suggest that the leftards who are putting these out, is to get them in every new-stand in the world where Americans live and vote.
They will find out when it comes to voting day how wrong they are.
In the real world where men and women work side by side in keeping the bills, house, transportation in order. Keeping up and informing the kids on social, scholastic education, sports and other programs, religious views of people whom associates with family. Trying to get the young adults ready for life in the general world is who is going to vote.
The leftards who are putting Sarah Palin down will find out that there are more people in the above description in everyday life with view similar with the McCain/Palin than Obama/Biden.

  23. “Ironically, it’s the women who actually have babies and make families–that is, the women who ensure the propogation of little women who will grow, one day, to be older women–who are always accused by the barren, dried-up, feminists of being unreal women.”
    well put

  24. I believe that Palin’s anti-abortion stance is the central reason for the feminists attacks. All the rest of their criticisms are questionable since Obama shares most of the same negatives – experience, religion, etc.
Beyond the argument of when life begins and women’s rights, there is a bigger question. In one breath progressives champion unrestricted individual freedom and choice (abortion, drugs) but in the next they ask for bans, taxes and regulations on other personal activities: guns, smoking, packaging, food ingredients. Ironically often with the argument “think of the children”. Even more odd is that the same progressives that talk about choice and women’s reproductive rights say nothing about their fellow travelers, the enviro radicals, who want to to limit family size.
As usual, there seems to be no continuity between their stated values and their practice. Free choice but only in activities in which we approve. Unquestioning support of women’s reproductive rights but complete silence on the population control agenda of the global warming zealots within their own party.
I guess their toleration and adherence to their central values comes and goes at whim.

  25. Egads! This rampant, hateful, defamatory Palinophobia being spewed from the so-called “progressives” makes one wonder if they might’ve learned to do this from Goebbels. What’s next, are they going to call her an ape or a pig? Oh, wait… I believe Barack Obama already called her one of those… See?
The “progressives” are no better than the likes of Goebbels and Hamas.
Par for the course for “progressives” when they have nothing else… they make up malicious lies and hurl hateful insults. And they’re more blatant and candid than ever.
Those “progressives”… so hateful. They make me sad, acting and carrying on as they do, ever so hatefully…
This should remind us all of the kind of society we’ll get if we elect “progressives”.

  26. My favourite was #14 by Cintra Wilson of Salon. Very bold and expressive, a fine match to Palin’s own extroverted personality.

  27. lynnh:
Do you mean her opponents are threatened by Palin’s real-time demonstration that she is pro life?
That’s clearly her choice, therefore her own actions confirm her positive outlook on human life.
I do agree with you that the left are totally intolerant of any opinion other than their own.
The term ‘anti-abortion’ is an attempt by the radical feminist death cult to portray those whose choice is for life, in a negative way.
My own opinion is that human life cannot possibly be a negative. Scratch the environmental movement, and you’ll find similar anti-human sentiment.
I can’t understand why these people hate themselves so much, but that’s totally a consequence of their choices in attitude development.
    Cheers.

  28. I listen to the right on the radio (surprise, surprise) including Linbaug, Hannity, Levine etc. and its remarkable to hear the poeple who phone in (especially women) who are mobilizing to support McCain/Palin-mostly Palin. There are mothers all accross the US who are phoning to find out how to help get them elected. Its obvious that the surge in popularity of the ticket is due to the connection Palin has to the average “mom” in the country. and I’ll bet that there are way more average moms than feminists. And one other point is that Americans in general , when polled, feel that the media is biased against Palin and for Obama (by 69%)
I find it amusing that lefties find it OK that Obama has ZERO experience to make him president (even his community organizer experience seems to have been a disaster)and his total resume is filled ewith lies, and innacuracies but they are willing to “throw the dice” with him while on the other hand they think Palin, who has a LOT of applicable executive experience, quite frankly, shouldn’t be running for VP.
And lastly I find it amusing that just because the left thinks that religion is bad then it must be so.
    Horny Toad

  29. Without leftards, I may be inclined to suggest that Palin isn’t my cup of tea.
But the more leftards speak, the more I hope Palin wins.

I have to agree with that. I wouldn’t give this woman the time of day. I spent many years having to endure people of her ilk. I find them to be totally obnoxious.
That said, I really hope she gets in. Washington needs a good shakeup, and I really dislike some of these celebraties. With a republican executive, and a conservative majority, I see a slight chance of avoiding a situation similar to that in Europe.

  30. “Palin can’t run a corporation…”
Neither can the CEO’s of AIG and Washington Mutual, and Lehman Bros., and…and…and…

  31. More importantly for us, has anyone heard an apology from the vile and disgusting article put forth on CBC site about Governor Sarah Palin?
Haven’t heard or read a thing so looks like OUR CBC has ignored our emails to address the issue.

  32. I think that Palin and feminists are both out of mainstream opinion regarding abortion. Palin is pro-life even in rape and incest cases and feminists want to have no limitations on abortions. Most people exist somewhere in between the two extremes. Palin will be vulnerable on this point. People may respect her commitment and consistency to her beliefs but still be uncomfortable with her viewpoint. I think that she will need to go further to assure voters that she would not force her ideas on others. The point I was trying to make though is that progressive and particularly progressive feminists seem to be quite selective and contradictory in their views. For example:
    Progressive Feminists equate
    Pro-life = bad ; Population control advocates = silence.
    Christian men=evil ; Islamic men=silence.
    Conservative working mothers=bad ; Progressive working mothers=good
    Generic Progressives
    Drugs = good ; tobacco=bad
Welfare-noble victim ; Fast food worker = product of poor choices to be mocked
Capitalism = unfair exploitation of workers; forced government redistribution through workers payroll taxes= social justice
Free choice = good only in progressive issues; Bans, taxes and regulation = always better

  33. I do not belive Sarah Palin is evil today I think she is dum oppourtunist
as usual republican never choose good employees to help them and never choose good partner to help them aboard
when repulcian in generla gave Sadam Hossain first he was dum arab man doing nothing
when you give ‘ big gun ” and allsupport to him be come lead teh country and his neighbor knowing he was not qualify you made that dum man
    to lead to become evil
NEVER Give gun in hand of small kid or dumm people because they may turn and shoot you too
and never trust woman who involve body selling and beauty queen to run politic for you
Unfortunalty the majority or people are not know taht prostitutioooon is come in so many kind and varity
and diff levesl but still all are under same umberlla
    street prostituooon
    supermodel
    Miss USA and Queeen
    chat and pornn groupp
    escort to red carper show
    muscian like Madonaa materioal girl
actoer who invovle in sexx and city as example
    beach paties
all come from wrong and kind of adultry in mix of culture that need to move out
never woman or men who involve so much adultry or involve with one of above said albe to get trust to run the countries
then Sarah Palin is not evil
but McCain and repulican can lead her to taht road
teh best she just back to her regular job not to run the country
I bleive there is still so much problmes among republican and Liberal in genral politial partis in USA and that need so mauch change in their culture and cut the corruption and the most of all is I recommanded to all parties in USA especialy Reupublican:
Repulican need to go and get hire first good human resoures agency and team and counsulting lawyer teams before welomce anybody to their team and do search before hiring then that time they may fix thier prolbmes
and reduce embrasment to their party
and let this Palin go to her regular job stop made him evil he is not in that stage yet!!!
but she has potentiol to turn to active energy
do not give small girl big gun can be turn so much damage let her grow first every body can change but first should know what her weakness is to fix it if she can people deserve second chance give her another 8 years to back fresh
she is not qulify yet you can not blame of past for present in all the time but you can learn the lesson

  34. Sahib
plus already Sarah Palin put big sign in all the washroom siad

all washroom was already occupied by repulican

thank you for the best advice any way, when Sarah is gone ,instead you can used it for new
Pakistan and Indian corrupted new supermodel MISS paki show they loved your idea for their corrupted New model bikini show
do not forget invite Sarah and Hillery Candadian too

  35. Whatever you do… forget about her outright lies. It’s easier that way.
BTW… how is the US doing under Republican rule? Oh. Right. Worse than anyone could imagine. What could the answer be? Why more Republican rule of course!
You guys would consider digging the best strategy to get out of a hole.

  36. John:
How has the US done with a Democratic congress the past two years?
Approval rating of 9%. Bush approval rating of 27%.
Hmmmm. I’d guess the voters are primed to send a message to congress.

  37. If Palin was a horrible choice and such a bad person, why would the Dem/Libs not be celebrating her as an opponent?
We all laugh our a**es off at Stephanie Dijon, but we want him to stay put as a beatable candidate, right?

  38. Could someone please explain this dichotomy?
    1. Sarah Palin has little experience and believes in God. Therefore, as the theory goes, she shouldn’t be permitted to be within a heartbeat of President.
    2. Barack Obama has little experience and believes in God. Therefore, as the theory goes, he is ULTIMATELY QUALIFIED to be President.
To me, this does not compute. Does anyone have a lefty magic decoder?

  39. “BTW… how is the US doing under Republican rule? ”
If you speak of the financial problems in the US these days you only need to look at where the rules came from that allow this mess. Up… your cigar holding hero: Bill Clinton.

  40. Liz J.: I got the same response as Grandad and CJ, with some of my own quotes substituted for theirs. At least they (sort of!) sent out individualized responses.
I immediately wrote another letter to say that I was not satisfied with Mary Sheppard’s weasel-word response–though, of course, I was much less direct.
Now I await the ombudsman’s “review” and response. No doubt, he’ll reiterate CBC’s “pride in the excellence of [their] journalism” and the public’s “expect[ation] that news stories on CBC NEWS.CA will be accurate, fair, unbiased and in all respects meet the rigorous criteria set out in the CBC’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.”
Just because the CBC says that their excellence, fairness, accuracy, and lack of bias meet “rigorous journalistic criteria” doesn’t mean that they actually do. I can say that my house is pink (it’s actually red brick) because I’d like it to be pink, but wanting it to be pink and saying that it is pink doesn’t make it pink.

  41. None of the candidates for POTUS have the credentials that one might hope for. Out of the lot, Palin has the most applicable experience. Obama has no experience that would make him a credible president. McCain, Obama, and Biden have no real executive experience. Of those three, two are one vote away from the presidency, the other is a heartbeat away, just like Palin would be.
I think the left’s attacks on Palin demonstrate a severe case of the jitters. She scares the hell out of them, so they do what they do best, try to create scandal, lies, and inuendos. At least Palin is a real person, not a manufactured candidate like Obama, a person who is so shallow that he has to stand in the same place twice to cast a shadow.
The US is reeling from policies created by Clinton and Gore. George Bush is probably the worst president, at least since Nixon, possibly in the history of the USofA. It does not follow that another republican would not be better any more than electing a democrate would, remember Clinton and Carter.
A new republican president would not be required to continue Bush’s policies any more than they would have to adopt his lack of command of the english language and goofy mannerisms.

  42. All America says Sarah is BLUE
and still some “few-stupid Candain” as Mrs. May even said that like to dress her pink
    this is so funny
they insist that their wish come true and she was sinelss error free and corrupted free and good super model hero for them
it is not going to happend
    she lost it
look at media you cannot say all are lieing and all hate her for her womenhood
    nowaday so obvious she said
if I like or Republican order her she willcome with no permison to our home anywhere in world for protection of United state citizen
who said she is allow to go anywhere
    who is she?
    godesst
    wake up
you miss the point do not look at sarah look at mcCain he can not do it
people who work in senate of USA for so long are fossil and most of them are corrupted by silent to BUSH in sep 11 even Sarah support Bush act in her recent interview
McCain/Sarah is only come to let BUSH get escape out of any more questoin of his legecy
taht is all the problmes is Republican in total
I know I know I do not nothing and you know everything
we have idion among muslim say Candian are hotter pot for made the bread than American now support her that is funny the bread is still not stick yet
plus who care about her Canada election is still under so much question why they made so quick for majority for what purpose I do feel smell of fish don’t you the election must get delay for more time to more people participare to know what is going here in Canad law in Canda is more complicated than US I think we have lots of problmes in Canada that put two elction togeterh brign peole focus to US more than Canada now

  43. This meme of “She’s not really a woman” directed at Sarah Palin or “She’s not really black” directed at Condi Rice, are subtexts of the larger “They’re not really humans” (Untermensch) directed by the National Socialists against variously Jews, Slavs, Gypsies etc.
It’s a convenient psychological defence mechanism that allows one to avoid dealing with dissenting world views, or inconvenient individuals and circumstances who would otherwise force one to question one’s rather elevated opinion of oneself, one’s own moral virtue, or the absolute rectitude of one’s beliefs. For if there exists a Sarah Palin who, by adhering to conservative principles, can be successful, dynamic, apparently happy, and popular, or a Condi Rice who can be likewise successful, then lib/lefties must confront the real possibility that their prescriptions may not be the only path to success, happiness, or fulfillment.
The meme exposes a distressing absolutism and hypocrisy. If Condi is not black and Sarah Palin is not a woman, or the Jews are not humans, then the most vitriolic bile (or in the case of National Socialism outright murder) can be visited upon them and their accomplishments while clinging to the delusion that one is in favor of women’s liberation, black power/racial equality or cultured civilization. And one’s infallible formula for success cannot be questioned either since these obvious contra examples can be dismissed. It reinforces my observation in a previous thread that liberalism/socialism is, at its core, a religion.

  44. It seems to me that Governor Palin is doing a reasonable job at not only following the Scriptural principles in regards to her family but also in another area.

    I Peter 3
14But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED,
    15but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
16and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.
17For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.
