  1. Let’s not forget the tobacco nazis and their nanny state mentality which initiated and prolongs the current anti-smoking hysteria.
The desire of the nanny state cabel to protect us from ourselves is great. Although, I suspect, the promise of ongoing, lucrative grants from Health Canada just may have some influence on their penchant for nagging.

  2. I think that what they are really afraid of is natural selection. They are afraid for their kids lives and want to keep their little precious bundles of joy away from any possible chance of not fulfilling their own dreams.

  3. Wow! 1 in 538,523, huh. I guess those statistics more than justify the immediate banning of all sleepwear.
“Feeling a little tired there, honey. Well, I’ll just have to remove all your clothing. Whoa, don’t get mad! Remember, this isn’t my call. It’s the law, baby!”
Little did I realize how fun the nanny state could be for shameless Lotharios such as myself . . .

  4. There is nothing that pisses me off more than not being able to buy firecrackers. I have many happy childhood memories of playing with firecrackers and blowing things up. I later graduated to making my own explosives and still have all of my limbs/digits. Playing with explosives was considered normal back then and when I got bored with them I graduated to computers at age 15 or so.
Explosives, like firearms, require one to exercise appropriate caution when one plays with them. I detest having my fun curtailed because of a minority that is either terminally stupid or idiotically careless. It would be far simpler to eliminate these morons and let the rest of us have our fun.

  5. And the latest, loony and lefty fad (alliteration FTW!): municipal governments across Canada are banning or contemplating a ban on……
    ….. wait for it……..
    BOTTLED WATER!
If you haven’t heard of this, just google “bottled water ban”. Many cities, for example San Fransisco, in North America have already banned (to various degrees) or are contemplating such a ban.
Sometimes I honestly wonder if humanity has any justification for existing.

  6. Here’s another commonsense statistic from Freakonomics, although I used the CDC’s stats, that liberals fail wrap their minds around, kids die much more frequently in the family swimming pool(2.0 per 100,000 children age 1 to 7) than playing with guns(0.1 per 100,000 ages 1 to 7). Firearms is one of the lowest causes of death. Drownings the highest.

  7. So, penny, am I to understand you’d support the federal imposition of a backyard pool registry?
    😉

  8. no way baby cakes you’re not coming in this bedroom with those deadly p-j’s on. why just look at them, they could kill!
work with my honey, it’s for YOUR benefit…

  9. No CJ; what Penny is advocating is the banning of toilets. You see, every time 10,000,000 toilets flush someone drowns in a swimming pool.

  10. (thanks for the modified name, Penny)
Helmets – let’s not forget to wear helmets for everything.
More deaths and injuries occur in the home from falls, so better wear those helmets.
Putting up Christmas lights? Wear a helmet.
Taking a shower? Falls in the bathtub, you know. Better wear a helmet.
Going down into the basement? Or upstairs? You might fall on the steps. Better wear a helmet.
And make sure those helmets have eye protection, after all, when you are using your weed-whacker, a blade of grass might just jump directly into your eye! If that happens too often, we’ll have to register our weed-whackers.
And hearing protection. If you damage your ears, it may turn you into a LIberal.

  11. It all started in the 60s when some stupid kid decided to carry his ladyfingers and matches in the same pocket. We called it natural selection. Some sissy’s parents called it dangerous. Haven’t heard the end of it since.
The only warning that anybody needed back then: It’s all a joke until somebody takes an eye out .)

  12. OMG!!! Stop the presses. Just heard that being born increases your risk of dying 100%!! Screw the lefties.Bring on the lawn darts and firecrackers. And if you get in the way, well,it’s called natural selection.
And a PJ ban? Please don’t give them any ideas.I can see the lefties take on it now. It’s against the law to send your kid to bed with PJ’s on,but if you take them off the kid, your a ped.Hypocricy?
