  1. First of all, “Canada” isn’t doing whatever they need to. The Liberals are. Huge difference.

Secondly, they aren’t protecting their country. They’re protecting a handful of POSs behind a collection of cartels which prey off of Canadians.

  2. Huh? Canada’s smaller … hence they are automatically being “bullied” by a bigger, more NORMAL kid on the block. It sounds like a real point of Pride for Canadians. Hell … you should all have a parade to celebrate your victimhood.

    1. Canadian liberals won’t have the excuse of being small or the terror of being absorbed as the 51st state for much longer. Soon those fears will fade as the reality of returning to colony status sets in as Canada becomes the first Associate Member of the EU. Expect the EU to declare open season for the exploitation of Canada’s natural resources for Europe’s benefit . Then, what’s left of Canadian industry and agri-business will be destroyed by the EU’s outrageous regulations. Still, it will be elbows up as Canadian liberals achieve Net Zero before backwards America.

  3. Who ARE these people?
That first fellow makes a some good points but the nanosecond I heard that “Toby” buffoon talk – complete with his annoying accent – I clicked off.
    It’s just more noise…..

  4. Canada could have been a great country, an economic powerhouse, even a military one. But the men without chests decided otherwise, aided and abetted by all the femtards.

  5. Trump isn’t imposing stiff tariffs on Canada for the good of the US economy. He’s imposing them in an attempt to force annexation of Canada through economic warfare.

The problem with this is (1) Canada isn’t co-operating, and (2) it’s damaging to both economics.

      1. No, Canada isn’t going to annexed. But Trump and his cabinet don’t seem to understand that.

        1. The only threat to Canada’s sovereignty is the Chinese police station where you cash your cheques.

The US offered Canada the same kind of trade deal it did with every other country with which it had a trade imbalance – better, in fact; a better deal than any they offered to any other country.

Only Canada and China refused the US offers.

No mater how much you want to clutch your pearls while using Google Translate to determine what your Chinese paymasters want you to say next, the US is not trying to annex Canada. Period. It’s a boomer “elbows up” fever dream. It’s idiocy. The US does not want Canada. Annexing Canada would be of no benefit to a right-of-centre administration. Despite what your Chinese paymasters tell you to say, Trump and his cabinet are not stupid, are not insane, are not senile.

They just don’t give a flying f*ck about pretending Canada is a functional country.

          1. To be fair, the Chinese are likely not his paymasters. Probably a little closer to home.

Would annexing Canada lead to some peace and quiet? If yes, then maybe we should rethink.

        2. But, you did say so.
          Duplicitous Rat.
No better than Marx Carnage, sowing insane divisions.
          Doesn’t work here, Rat.

        3. “No, Canada isn’t going to annexed. But Trump and his cabinet don’t seem to understand that.”

They understand it perfectly well. Most normal people understand it just as easily…and then there are people like you, spewing TDS-inspired doom-and-gloom fantasies and trying frantically to convince the rest of us that you are not delusional.

        4. Trump and his cabinet know how the US political system works a lot more than you do.

It is retarded to think that a Republican government would want to add a population as big as California’s, that is even more leftist than CA .

Adding Canada would add 50+ electoral votes, 50+ House seats and at least a dozen Seats, which would overwhelming go to Democrats and tilt the balance of power.

It’s amazing that ignorant people can see how Greenland went down and think he still meant the 51st state stuff about Canada literally.

          1. cb370 (and Deplorable Me, whose similarly-themed comment is below), I’d venture that you might be incorrect with your statement, “Adding Canada would add 50+ electoral votes, 50+ House seats and at least a dozen Seats…which would overwhelming go to Democrats and tilt the balance of power” and it’s based on an the assumption that many Canadians (and some Americans) make – i.e., that Canadians, if incorporated into the USA, would continue to tilt left politically

In Canada, there is a VAST canon of lies that we tell ourselves and that we pretend to believe, SOLELY to attempt to distinguish ourselves from Americans. If we actually BECAME American, we would then be relieved of the terrible – and it IS truly terrible – burden of constantly lying to ourselves and pretending to believe said sanctimonious hornswoggle and could finally Be Ourselves.

And we’d become much better people for it.

If you doubt me for a second, think of the political fate of the average Canadian you know who got transferred to US and how seamlessly they ended up fitting into the US political mainstream.

Mordecai Richler once said of Canadians something along the lines of “we’re in the process of finding out who we are…..and we’re Americans” (can someone find me the actual quote, thanks)

          2. It is retarded to think that a Republican government would want to add a population as big as California’s, that is even more leftist than CA .

You’re right. Most Republicans don’t want it. But Trump doesn’t give a crap about Republicans, except so far as they support him in congress. No, Trump wants to immortalize himself by expanding the American empire, and if the Republicans do a face plant once he’s out of office, well that’s a price he’s willing to pay.

          3. “It is retarded to think that a Republican government would want to add a population as big as California’s, that is even more leftist than CA .”

That was my very first thought when I heard about some people attempting to push this as a serious threat…why would Donald Trump want 40 million *more* Democrat voters?

“It’s amazing that ignorant people can see how Greenland went down and think he still meant the 51st state stuff about Canada literally.”

It fits the narrative that they are so desperate to maintain. Without that, Mark Carney would have been defeated in the last election.

          4. “expanding the American empire”

Good lord.. Are you even listening to yourself, comrade?

    1. At this point, Canada has been being annexed by the 3rd world for years, with full Liberal cooperation and to the applause of their moronic reflexive voters.

Annexation by the US would be a dream come true by comparison for all but the MTV crowd. And the useful idiots programmed by the CBC and other far-left propaganda outlets.

    2. My god you’re stupid. He put tariffs on EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. Only two countries refused to negotiate fair deals with the USA: China and Canada. So the tariffs go up.

We actually had a deal, negotiated to completion by both countries. All it needed was Carney’s signature. The result has nothing to do with Trump and is entirely on Carney. And what Carney is doing is going to drive Alberta out of Canada.

Kate: can we get a Block feature like they have on disqus? This dumpster fire keeps polluting your comment section with utter drivel.

      1. The blog’s a two-man show at the back-end and using something like Disqus means attracting attention from the kinds of Big Tech oligarchs that deplatformed everyone to the right of Lenin. Rolling their own means, well, rolling their own.

Self-hostable blogging software is thin on the ground right now, all the stalwarts have become for-pay “platforms”. The few that aren’t are written in languages/frameworks that are just asking to get hacked, or else they require at least some software engineering skill to install and maintain.

      2. “My god you’re stupid. He put tariffs on EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. Only two countries refused to negotiate fair deals with the USA: China and Canada. So the tariffs go up.”

Exactly, Ed. He has been reminded of that *fact* more than once already, but the TDS won’t allow him to admit the truth of it.

      3. It is all about Canada being owned by China.

The media is downplaying that the biggest impasse in the tariff talks is the US insistence that language be included that any steel sent by Canada to the US be “melted and poured” in Canada.

Canada wouldn’t let Canada agree to that language because China wanted to continue to use Canada to do an end run on US steel tariffs.

    3. Only a moron with 0 understanding of the US system of government can even be fooled into thinking any Republican would want to annex Canada. Think about handing another California to the Electoral college, another 2 Democrats to the Senate, and probably a 70/30 split (before gerrymandering) in the house in favour of Democrats. The numbers slightly improve if instead of 51’st state it went to 51 through 64 (each province and territory), but would still favor democrats. Just consider how hard it is to get rid of the Libranos. They would also open up their borders to about 10 or 15 million of the kind of people they want to deport.

Just stop for a moment to think before posting your talking point propaganda drivel, you embarrass yourself, and make the entire world dumber by your posts existing.

      1. Forgot to add that the greatest threat to Canadian sovereignty is the economic, cultural, and societal devastation intentionally brought on by successive Liberal governments since at least 1968.

        1. … exacerbated and accelerated by the utter incompetence and cowardice of the federal and provincial Conservative Parties over the last 10 years.

        1. Interesting analysis, but a couple of points to consider in your error analysis.
          1) “political fate of the average Canadian you know who got transferred to US and how seamlessly they ended up fitting into the US political mainstream.”
          a) should be Canadian who accepted transfer to the US, a limited subset of Canadians overall, and those most inclined to personal advancement.
          b) Democrats are considered US political mainstream.

          2) “Mordecai Richler once said of Canadians something along the lines of “we’re in the process of finding out who we are…..and we’re Americans” ”
          — Richler, Mordecai. “For all our complaints, as we come of age we’re realizing we’re Americans too.” Quoted in Larry Krotz, review of Andrew Malcolm’s The Canadians, Border Crossings, September 1985.

          a) Mordecai Richler hasn’t written anything this century. When this was written, the Democrats had held continuous majorities in the House for 40 years. Contrary to popular belief, I suspect most Democrats are indeed Americans, just not sure about all their voters.

          b) The Canada Mordecai Richler knew is gone. The demographics are completely different, 45% of the population is foreign born or has both parents foreign born, unlike previous immigration waves, the most recent ones have arrived into a social safety net that can become a generational hammock. Hence the strong liberal support no matter how they screw things up (partly also Boomers pining for their youth when Trudeau was in charge). Their is no reason for anyone to believe that Republicans would get more votes in a two party system than Conservatives get in a 4 party system with 3 left wing parties.

          c) Mordecai Richler would now be unwelcome in Montreal as he is Jewish and our current policy is one of soft Judenhass, though the soft part likely won’t last long if the multicutists get their way.

          3)…
You didn’t address the opening the borders to the large undesirable element brought in under our policy of genocidal empathy? (I would be okay if our leaders had suicidal empathy, but they will be unaffected, and only inflict the cost of their empathy on the existing population.)

          1. Deplorable Me, you seem to be obsessed – and at the expense of other, more vital things – with being, what my pal MentisWave refers to as “pedantically correct.”

          2. “Deplorable Me, you seem to be obsessed – and at the expense of other, more vital things – with being, what my pal MentisWave refers to as “pedantically correct.””

Not at all Eric, and I think that the most important thing for our country is to help people see through the lies of Elbowso, and part of that requires explaining facts to people whenever the lies show up.

While I do agree Canadians would be better people, and Canada would be a better country if we dropped the national insecurity reflexive “That’s American …” response whenever someone suggests changes to what clearly isn’t working (even if the suggested change is in fact nowhere near what America does).

Bottom line is some conservative voters would still trend Democrat (unless the DSA features prominently), Liberal and NDP voters would be almost exclusively Democrat, Third Worlders would break Democrat hard.

Everyone should have been able to figure out Trump was trolling Trudeau with the 51st state because Trudeau was the personification of our national insecurity, hell I bet he even wrote about it in his book on negotiation that nobody representing us seems to have read. Somehow the Liberals and their presstitutes managed a psyop that this was a real threat, and that needs to be countered with facts. What do you consider more vital than countering lies with facts?

Not sure what your angle is in trying to make the implausible lies of Elbowso sound plausible by stating without facts or evidence that Canadians would be more inclined to vote Republican than Democrat if annexed unless it is a subtle nudge to make the big lies seem credible.

I do recognize your writing style however, and it is that of a pseudo-intellectual obsessed with appearing more intelligent than they are.

        1. I’m literally shaking.

We won’t annex Canada, but we are going to move more border enforcement north…and we won’t annex Canada, but we may treat them like the EU annex they’ve decided to become.

      1. “Trump doesn’t want a 51st state. He wants a vassal state. Big difference.”

Too late: the Liberals have already enshrined the “51st State” scam into their political platform. Deal with it.

      2. We have been a vassal state for most of my life except for Stephen Harper. If not to China, to the WEF, or the Desmarais family who have now teamed up with China.

        1. “We have been a vassal state for most of my life except for Stephen Harper. If not to China, to the WEF, or the Desmarais family who have now teamed up with China.”

Also true…I just didn’t want to muddy up my main point.

        2. We have been a vassal state for most of my life except for Stephen Harper. Totally untrue! We (Alberta) has been a vassal state of Eastern Canada and the Federal Government since Alberta became a province. Harper our (Western Canada) saviour showed he was no better than the Eastern Elite Liberals when he passed the equalization formula ensuring Quebec would get the biggest equalization checks courtesy of the Western provinces.

      3. Please do explain how a country who relies 100% on another for defense can be anything but a vassal state to it’s protector?

    4. One huge problem with your theory: The Republicans know that any province that is annexed will be a guaranteed 100% set of votes for Democrats … except maybe Alberta. Though if I were the Americans and wanted to annex a Canadian province, I would impose two rules:
      1. No voting rights for the new area for 20 years.
      2. No Canadian who becomes an American because of the annexation can vote [anywhere] in America for 10 years.

  6. Liberalism is a progressive disease.
What these “people” are saying is classic Liberal Hypocrisy.
“Its different when we do it”.
And when you point this out,you will be treated to the next stage of emotional retardation..
    “But,my feelz”..
You evil insensitive far right scum..!
Funny thing about “Far Right”…The answer is” No,just right so far.”

    1. Forgot to add this from the article
“In the face of continued market uncertainty and prolonged injury to Stelco’s business resulting largely from steel IMPORTS into Canada, we have been forced to make this very difficult decision that will impact as many as 500 Stelco employees,” said a Stelco spokesperson.

Where is steel coming from that doesn’t face tariffs? Could it be…China? So, they can’t compete domestically against Chinese steel but we’re going to compete against those commodities in Europe?

Wait for an announcement from Stellantis regarding Windsor.

I wonder if the US administration will release the final offer that Soviet Canuckistan walked away from prior to the Quebec election.
