Vomit Alert

Here’s what you get when you cross a hippie with a not-so-closet Communist:

“Our aggressive military activities in Afghanistan are foolish and wrong,”
[…]
“The Pashtun (people) have extremely different values than ours, values we may not agree with in any case, but it’s not our business to try and teach them lessons with weapons,”
[…]
“Because, in fact, they’ll be the ones teaching us lessons.
“We’re going to have to leave the place or there’ll be nothing left of us or of whatever we’ve done, except the blood we’ve lost there after we leave. So it’s better we leave now.”

Personally, I prefer Patton:

The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

RAWLCO asks us what we think should be done … poll in right sidebar.

  1. Mybe the SOB should remember who his hero’s are,did he think that the Soviets went into Afganistan to co-exist with the Afgans? Those big helicopters and tanks werent there so that they could “just get along”.AK47’s arent Ipods. He reminds me of his dad that rode around Montreal on a motorcycle and wore a swastica on his helmet.

  2. “What I want to do is leave it to younger filmmakers to show who the Pashtun are, people we falsely call Taliban, in most cases, and why we really have no reason to tell them how to live their lives, why Afghanistan should be left to its own devices.”
Yo Sacha – we did leave Afghanistan to its own devices, and we got 9/11
    .

  3. “I just want to smoke gauloise, consume le frommage, spit on les Anglais and masturbate over the thought of marching side by side with Che, Fidel, Stalin, Pol, and Hitler, because we are all unified by one thing: hatred of les Jews and les Americains”
    -atheiste quebecoise separatiste

  4. “Because, in fact, they’ll be the ones teaching us lessons.”
Lesson one: “My son, aid workers make excellent targets. Many of them are women, travelling alone, the whores! They’re unarmed, moving slowly and you can kill them without risk! And allah smiles!”

  5. Hey Sacha(good commie name). I have a device for the A’fghans that insist on helping your brother-in-arms(that would be the Taliban). It’s called a tactical nuke. Or three. And who said the commie/lieberal party was dead in Canuckistan?

  6. PLEASE deliver us from any more opinions from any of Trudeau’s spawns. Who cares what they think? What have they contributed to society besides being Trudeau’ sons?
Why do their opinions make headlines? It shows how close all our media has come to low grade, airhead journalism in the fashion of the National Inquirer or worse.
They can’t ever be accused of being closet commies, they’re shameless friends/admirers of “Papa” Fidel Castro of Cuba for starters. That’s their right and if they tend their own business, STFU, and spare us all their puke inducing opinions.

  7. Another elitist gadfly working for the CBC and spending taxpayers money on stupidity. The demise of this nest of Socialist propogandists cannot happen soon enough.

  8. Is there anybody else here who would contribute to a “Send Sacha to Pushtun Tribal Areas with a Smile and a Camera”
    I’m so in.
I figure at worst he’d vanish, and he might serve as an object lesson a la Daniel Pearl, and option three the salutary experience might wake him up.

  9. “What I want to do is leave it to younger filmmakers to show who the Pashtun are, people we falsely call Taliban, in most cases, and why we really have no reason to tell them how to live their lives, why Afghanistan should be left to its own devices – Yo Sacha – we did leave Afghanistan to its own devices, and we got 9/11.”
Right on Gordon! This kid hasn’t a clue. Hey Sacha, Taliban are a small part of the Pashtun tribe, most of them live in Afghanistan, and they certainly weren’t interested in leaving Afghanistan “to its own devices.”
The militant Whabbist fascist sect of the Taliban represent only 20% of the population of Afghanistan, and could never have gained control of the southern part of the country without the overt support of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and China. Incidentally I believe those were the only countries who recognized the Taliban government, who were probably too busy executing people in a soccer stadium to notice.
So, Sacha, spare us you ignorant views on Afghanistan, which has always been an object of foreign interference and intrigue. Grow up and inform yourself before opening you mouth.
I have no problem with people who oppose our involvment in Afghanistan, provided they work from a factual base, not the romanticism Sacha and others (are you listening, Layton?) extol.

  10. Oh groooaaaan, I am sick, SICK of these Trudeaus.
Look Sacha, just get it over with and move to Cuba pronto.

  11. I just can’t get over a Trudeau (or any socialist for that matter) talking about how you can’t teach people “lessons” with weapons.
Eventually, any socialist has to use force or the threat of force if they are going to impose their views on any group of people (no matter how big or small – whether for right or wrong)…and they have all done it…including Sacha’s daddy.
All of us have things done to us against our will every day – paying taxes that go towards programs that we either don’t agree with or are designed to oppress us is a fine example.
If I don’t want to pay those taxes, men with guns come to my home. If I resist, I will die.
Socialists think that there’s some substantial difference between the use of force and the threat of the use of force. The only difference is the level of resolve of the person (or group) you are attempted to coerce into doing something that they don’t want to do.

  12. So I wonder how his brother the candidate feels about these positions…someone should ask.
I wonder how the leader of the Liberals feels about these comments….someone should ask
And if we arent there to tell the Afghans how to live, which I agree with, we are there to ensure that there isnt an oppressive government that tells them how to live, then why would we think to tell tell the “Darfurians” or the government that is fighting the rebels. In fact should we have told the South Africans how to live?
But of course that would mean applying consistency…..Trudeau’s kids, proof that the “cult of the artist” truely has Gen Y in its thrall. Why be productive when you can “express yourself”.

  13. nobody does moral relativism better than the spoiled rich kid son of a rich kid wannebe Marxixt dad who asked to have Fidel Castro as a pallbearer at his funeral.
At least his mother has an excuse, she’s admitted to being an under the influence nutter, but Trudeau’s love affair with mass murdering dictators around the world speaks volumes about his utter lack of moral fibre.
Trudeau failed himself, his family and his country by deciding to not fight the greatest moral crime of his generation when Nazism reared its ugly head.
Now his son shows he is just as spineless.
    What a waste of air.

  14. The only lessons the taliban can teach us is how to hide under a burqa and how to use women and children as shields, bloody cowards.I just wish one of these lefties would have a little conviction and follow up their absurd statements with some action.Come on Layton or Trudeau, what are you waiting for,get your arses over there and make some peace.Oh yeah, don’t bring a hat,you won’t be needing it.

  15. Yes, h.ryan I understand he was a volunteer. Once on the ground though, he may have been given more dangerous mission, owing to his experience and training. These guys who go back for for 2nd and 3rd tours are owed a deep debt of gratitude from everyone. I’m not trying to make too fine a point out of this; just wondering.
Why would anyone interview Sacha Trudeau about Afghanistan. Because of his father? First of all, he’s not his father (nowhere near the experience); anyway, Pierre Trudeau knew squat about military matters.

  16. “Trudeau knows the Canadian military firsthand, but not through combat. In the mid 1990’s he trained as a reserve officer at CFB Gagetown in New Brunswick & joined the Royal Canadian Hussars in Montreal as a second-lieu.”
    Montreal Gazette
He was a weekend warrier & that makes him an Expert? No its just another Turd speaking & we should listen according to the politicaly correct A**H****!

  17. Another day, another anti-war Liberal retard tells us we must turn and run.
Does anyone really listen to these morons?
As for the “noble” Pashtuns, they are not well regarded in the area, due to certain unsavory habits. It is said that birds fly over the Pashtun region with one wing. The other wing they use to cover their backsides for fear of The Noble Pashtuns.
Be it duly noted, the Pashtun members of the Taliban are getting really good at spotting Canadian troops… and running away really fast.

  18. I expect nothing different from this young man.
That I disagree with him as I did his father is just a fact. What bothers me is that our media would give this mixed up person the time of day.
Lots of folks have goofy ideas and views. Why should this persons be published? Every person should EARN the right to be heard!

  19. Be wary of why he joined the reserves….so that he could claim expertise.
Why the CBC hired him…if his name was not Trudeau he wouldnt be paid by the public, no different than Avi Lewis.
Its a pretty typical argument from his perspective….if only we would leave them alone they would leave us alone, isolationist when it comes to groups that are anti western. Pro intervention when it is a group fighting western interests.
End of the day, there is little common ground with people such as him, I am sure underneath the surface you would find he was sympathetic to 911 truthers and other such nuts.
I can only imagine how much money he is being paid by the CBC to do what he is doing. Thank goodness CBC lost the rights to the Olympics.

  20. OT but still on the topic of vomit… Cherniyuck is posting about Brown Shirts.
Here’s my comment to his thread in case (har) he doesn’t post it.
“Brown Shirts? Did you just Godwin your own thread?
Or perhaps you mean that Stephane Dion is so frightened that Harper will call an election that he’s pre-emptively brought up abortion thinking it was the last week of the election?
In that case, I think you meant to type Brown Shorts.”

  21. Sacha was a weekend warrior with the Hussars so he should know first hand what a mess the military was back then.If I remember right the only armor the Hussars had back then were Grizzlys, boats with wheels. We had a saying we used often regarding second loowies, they could tell you the square root of a jar of pickles but not how to open one.

  22. I PRAY THAT YOU READ THIS! I’m just an ordinary Canadian, White, Bi-Lingual Christian who leans to the right. I’m not fanatical about anything. I do however believe that Canada needs to complete it’s mission in Afghanistan, as the Americans need to complete theirs in Iraq.
ON SEVERAL OCCAISIONS I’ve sent in my views to various newspapers, and on a number of topics related to Canada’s involvement in Afghanistan.
FOR EXAMPLE. At the Regina Leader-Post (Online Edition) on a site named “Sound-Off,” almost always, my views (on Aghanistan) were not published. Yet some moron who hates Stephen Harper and is against war will be allowed to rave and rant on and on, bashing our PM and the Gov. at every opportunity. The S’toon Star Phoenix is no better. (Check it out for yourself.)
Unsuspecting citizens go on these sights, then tend to believe that all citizens oppose the war. Except those of us of course who know the meaning of FREE SPEECH, and know that Liberal editors blank out our words, and our thoughts. (Thanks for reading this.)
PS: The Billings Gazette has published 99% of my words.

  23. Mr. Trudeau:
Weapons are not intended to teach people lessons; they are reserved for those who will not learn lessons.

  24. But what if Afghanistan is an unredeemable shithole of a country that will at best end up being less repressive in overt public policy, but in social practice the same craptastic stone age waste of the earth’s surface area? Rhetorical question, of course. It will.
Our soldiers aren’t there to build a great society. It’s not going to happen in an “Islamic Republic”. You don’t build a castle out of cow patties. They’re there to kill Taliban because a Taliban government is not in accord with our country’s interests or those of our NATO allies. If as a happy side-effect there is a temporary improvement in social conditions for those normally at risk in an Islamic society, then that’s fine. But it isn’t the point at all and never was.
So in a way, Papa Pierre’s feckless spawn is quasi-correct, but for all the wrong reasons.

  25. I can think of few thoughts that frighten me more than the notion that a Turdeau will become our prime minister again.
They can finish off the destruction of this country that Papa started.

  26. Trudeau’s silly little pontifications are not even worthy of discussion. Why the inane ramblings of a clueless idiot are put out for public consumption indicates the pathetic state of today’s media.

  27. Why can’t we become a TRUE country, and have a revolution to throw all these sick, demented asshats out? Heck. Myself and kingstonlad with two others could throw every pussy out of TO. A country NEEDS something to back itself up,and the Turdeaus and like sure as hell ain’t it!

  28. Bear in mind that, every day, the mainstream media is filled with celebrity-promotional fluff. Everything about any pop culture celebrity, no matter how brief their moment of fame or how limited their talent, is of great interest to all ‘journalists’. Ever wonder who reads those supermarket tabloids? People with the intellect and sophistication of your average ‘journalist’, that’s who. So don’t be so surprised when a Trudeau gets fawned over by the media for every burp or brain fart, it’s just a fundamental of their corporate culture. The only part of it all that really horrifies me is when a Trudeau spawn finds a way to pocket a nice big wad of tax dollars.

  29. “Trudeau was speaking from Beijing, where he has been filing cultural reports on China as part of the CBC’s Olympic broadcast team.”
He works for the CBC. Why am I not surprised? Where else could this useless tool and useful idiot possibly find a job?

  30. “The only part of it all that really horrifies me is when a Trudeau spawn finds a way to pocket a nice big wad of tax dollars.
Posted by: abcd at August 22, 2008 3:03 PM ”
Horrifies? Sorry. It should scare the living crap out of you. Think about baby Turdeau and your taxes when you go to work Monday. And don’t forget,in typical leftie fashion,he will sit there, say send our troops home,THEN try to buy himself some power with our money when the Islamist fascists come knocking.

  31. Killing them over here or killing them over there,I’ll take the latter.
    Ditto,
Course some would rather play football with only the defence on the field. That way their team keeps on offence.

  32. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, thinks the sun shines out his asshole, not a brain in his head.

  33. I have to begin by defending the lad:
    1. He is neither a coward and nor an armchair slouch.
    2. “Weekend warrior”? Maybe so, but, as far as I know, he did take RESO (Reserve Entry Scheme Officer) training which comprises much of the same training regular armoured officer candidates receive. This experience alone places him far ahead of many others of his ilk – and gives him an edge over not a few of his critics in this blog, I’d wager.
Now, that said, I do wonder what on earth the point is of his film-making in places like Darfur or the Middle East or anywhere else.
If his view is that “we really have no reason to tell them how to live their lives… Afghanistan should be left to its own devices” then surely this is also true of Darfur or any other trouble spot in the world?
So why bother going over there to make films to highlight their plight if he feels it’s fundamentally none of our business?

  34. I’ve posted elsehere on the twerp and his mindless parrotting of the Pashtun “noble savage” delusion. Afghanistan too dangerous for him, but, oh, Darfur, there’s a nice safe cause. The fool might as well cut to the chase and emigrate to Venezuela where he can worship at the feet of Chavez.

  35. I remember the Marines coming up to Petawawa for some joint exercises with us mid january, lots of snow.I remember making up teams to compete running the obstacle course, full gear, personal weapons, anti tank weapons, weapons crates,50 and 7.62 caliber machine guns, mortars and ammunition, dummy grenade boxes, ten man tents, ruck sacks fully loaded as we were going out on exercise for three weeks right after the competition. All of this in feet of snow, man did we kick ass,not only did we beat them,we humiliated them. This is not to knock the Marines,it’s just to point out how good we were, and we did this to every infantry unit we competed against. We were the best simply because of our pride wearing our maroon beret, our wings and ozons. We were held in esteem by every international force we worked with.It was the Liberals who shut down this great regiment, remember that when considering Trudeau’s opinions.

  36. JJM, right. If it’s none of our business in Afghanistan then it should follow the same line of thought for all trouble spots like Darfur. For some reason the Leftist mind doesn’t seem to follow any logic. The Liberal/Left all want to fly to the aid of Darfur while they want to pull out of Afghanistan.
The only reason the Liberals are on side with Afghanistan now is it was under their tenure the troops were shipped there. Chretien on his own, no debate or vote in the House, just his say so. Dictator or Tyrant, take your pick but it was to get out of sending troops to Iraq to fulfill NATO obligations, he was “Da Boss”.

  37. Creighton heard Kim say bitterly: ‘Trust a Brahmin before a snake,
and a snake before an harlot, and an harlot before a Pathan, Mahbub
    Ali.’

    –Rudyard Kipling, Kim
Too bad young Trudeau isn’t going to Afghanistan. I rather enjoy the thought of him surrounded by the perfidious Pathans (now called Pashtuns). Would he survive even one night?

  38. “I don’t want to go and sit in the (Canadian Forces) camp in Kandahar and film the Tim Hortons.”
    [..]
“Networks have shied away from allowing me to go to Afghanistan when I had the chance, and now I don’t think I’d want to go – it’s too dangerous,” Trudeau said.
The condescending coward thinks filming the Tim Horton’s on the Kandahar base is too dangerous?!
I’m surprised he took his thumb out of his mouth long enough, to give an interview.

  39. Just because Sacha was a RESO trained officer, doesn’t really give him insight into Afghanistan, at least not much more than reporters with zero military experience.
RESO teaches combat arms tactics, fieldcraft and so on. It doesn’t teach them international relations or statecraft, or anything else remotely close to analyzing efficacy of our involvement in Afghanistan.
Let’s be clear, though; few of us have a great deal of insight into this issue. My point is military experience doesn’t qualify him to comment on this matter in any authoritative way – he’s giving his opinion like the rest of us are – and I think he’s way off.
I do respect the opinions of soldiers who have been on the ground in Afghanistan – they have excellent insights and have actually talked to the Afghan people.
