Maybe it’s just me, but when I see this sort of thing I’m reminded of TV shows with audiences that are hyped-up before taping. In the crowd are often professional laughers placed strategically to elicit positive-sounding noises and reactions from their neighbours.
Most of us have had the collective experience of spontaneously giving a standing ovation for an excellent performance – these weasels generate it artificially. Laugh track, anyone?
Here’s a conspiracy theory for you: the screaming, fainting teenage girls at Beatles’ events were plants. And then the meme just propagated amongst the easily-influenced (see ‘power of suggestion’).

The poll question is “not even wrong”. There is no contradiction between the two options.
Obviuously, when living in a English speaking country, one needs to master the English langauge.
Equally obvious, there are clear and tangible benefits from learning two (or more) languages, as has been explained elsewhere, for the individual him/herself (intelligence, career,…), as well as for society as a whole (competitiveness…).

Everyone knows dam* well none of the people behind Obama supported what he said. If they hadn’t been whipped up into this ecstatic frenzy surrounding his campaign, they would have booed. Speak French? Americans? Over their dead bodies.

Well what is better a whipped up crowd or a hand picked group for a Mac townhall meeting?
Not speaking French as a tourist in Quebec or Paris is an inconvenience, not knowing English as an American immigrant or citizen is a tragedy, and, that is the point that Obama and the dimwitted Dems fail to forcefully make while pandering to Hispanic voters.

I have heard Obama speak the English language and other than his vacuous message, he does speak it rather well in his baritone voice. Most his credibility is tied up in his voice and his ability to read the scripts in the language, English.
However, I would be surprised if he could even communicate with the street Negroes that he is determined to lift up socially with other people’s money. No one is ever sure what the hell language they are speaking. I have tried to decipher a couple of Samuel L Jackson’s great (street Ni**er roles in Tarantino movies and it’s a challenge.
The irony is that if anyone had the ability to truly educate those po’ down-trodden black folk, they would likely not vote for the commie, Obama.
They might prefer living in the free enterprise country that provides them with the absolute highest standard of living of any black people (and most cases any people) in the world. A lot of them might sound dumb, but I don’t think they all stupid. Consider Bill Cosby, and Thomas Sowell to name two quite brilliant black men. I am sure there are millions more. Maybe not in New Orleans though.

From what I’ve seen of this guy he can barely speak one language, if it isn’t spelled out in big letters for him on a teleprompter.
Obama’s a newsreader. He gives good face on TV. This is not what I’d be choosing for a President, were I an American.
Obama try to show people who know two language and English is their second language is not something as weakness of them but also as something they gain it extra value added in albe to communicate with other people majority of people who know at least two languages are act smarter in communication
I saw on TV a police in one of chinese country able to talk more than 10 language any tourist go to one tample he talk to them thier language and he said he never took english course he only watch movie and learn it by practice
I saw only learning language is tool to able to communicate but some people speak perfect fluent english but still not able to explain themselves again this is back that always language is not the solution sometimes if you donot talk may be better to talk in some occasion

According to the latest polls McCain and the big O are tied. McCain is picking up support and O is flipflopping on many things, and that is upsetting his first supporters.
Talk shows this a.m. actually had some negative comments on the big O. Catch the cover of the New Yorker magazine this week.
And, for me, I want to know why everyone is treating him as if he is already POTUS. The deals and plans for his trip to Germany, Iraq and other places. Did the election happen and nobody came.
