    That’s one of the problems with these Internet-o-sphere virtual pubs, or at least those that principally revolve round politics. Meanwhile, back in the real world, lives are lived, loves are won and lost, and the legacy of classic music continues to transcend the focus of the day.
    I’m certainly not saying that politics is not important, for as Plato said, “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men”, yet it remains that case that even during war, the show must go on. (You do know where the term camp came from, yes?)

    What Tories are angry about is how Liberals will pander to the worst instincts of New Canadian communities by doing things like supporting terrorists (i.e. Liberal MP`s John McKay and Derek Lee and their support of Tamil terrorists), or tolerating the Canadian Arab Federation`s anti-semitic campaign against Bob Rae at the Liberal convention.
    Are you unable to see a diference between the Tories telling New Canadians that they are welcome in Canada`s only real national party – and the Liberals appealing to hate and bigotry?

    Does that mean turning off all tv,computers, other appliances at the same time.
    Will the time be in each time zone or all over the world at the same time.
    Think of the power surge when everyone turns everything back on at the same time. Stupid idea.
    I will make an effort to make sure every electrical thing I have in my house is on during that time, including the Christmas lights that are never taken down.

    They could not see what was so great about the new world.
    Now the USA is the most prosperous land in the history of the world, and the French thought it was not worth keeping!!!

    Mary T- I too have some concerns about this.
    I read where the city of Toronto is going along with this stunt. Now, I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t be caught dead in Toronto at night with all the lights turned off. Perfect invitation for every Freako (and they are legion in Toronto)to come out of the woodwork and wreak havoc on the citizenry. Don’t these idiots think of the consequences of such foolish actions?

    I think it’s homeowners who are into that Groupism Let’s Do Everything Together.
    I, for one, have no intention of either turning off or turning on my lights according to what some braindead groupie tells me to do. I’ll behave with my lights as I need to use them. In this case, I know I’ll have them ON at that hour.

    Liz, you just need to understand that a different dictionary was in use. Gore did not get a “Peace Prize”. He got a “Piece Prize”. That was in recognition that Mr. Gore was the first (quickest) to note a perfect scam a get a major “Piece” of the action.

    MaryT, good decision to leave the Christmas lights up. This Global Warming is driving us toward a mini-ice age, so it will seem like Christmas all year long.
    One does wonder, as the present winter is extending well into spring in much of North America, if this may turn out to be one of those years without a real ‘summer’. It will be fun to see the AGW crowd spin this particular climate change.
