    Amusing, isn’t it? It gives the chattering class something to do. The self-conscious news media perceives themselves to be important and they never fail to remind us that “we need them”. They’re full of themselves and create news when it suits them if it’s a slow news day. He who holds the bullhorn attracts the most attention and all that.
    Lookit, the USA, with 300 million people has 4 major TV news stations. Canada, with 30 million people, also has 4 major TV news stations. This adds up to a lot of left-leaning, underachieving, over-confident weasels with not much to do but parrot the party line and whine that Harper is in power. Let’s face it: the type of people that get into “journalism” these days see it as an ongoing job, not a calling to seek the truth. It’s just easier for them to go along with the status quo and hope for their big break somewhere down the line. They are corporate drones, not reporters, but they like to portray themselves as defenders of virtue, truth and all that is right.

  23. The US (and Israel in this case) is doing the right thing. If they can facilitate a Palestinian State and a peace deal with Israel, they will completely undermine the excuses from Hiznoballah, Hamasses, and their sponsor Iran.
    I think that our buddy Naz is running scared right now (he’s going ‘all in’ with 2 heads and a torso – so to speak) because his party is starting to become marginalized in Lebanon. Although there is a political crisis in Lebanon right now, it is being worked through democratically (and several moderate ME countries are stepping up to help it) and support for the Lebanese Prime Minister is growing. Naz made a big mistake against Israel because he ended up getting blamed by the Lebanese for stupidity in the war, he failed to bring down the Lebanese government and he is loosing support from Iran, and the Lebanese and Israeli governments are working towards peace.
    Naz is losing support from Iran because Iran is very very scared right now. They know that they came very close to big trouble during their little skirmish with US warships – they almost did Bush a favour. In Bush’s big tour in the ME, he basically let them know how close they came. Therefore, Iran knows that if they get caught with their fingers in the cookie jar with Hiznoballah doing something stupid – they’re basically telling the US to come on over and stick a bunch of cruise missiles up their collective theocratic Islamist arses – and they know that Bush will only be more than happy to comply.

    Rather than marching with them as Coderre did or even considering them a legitimate movement we should be condemning them, they’re right up there with all other terrorists spawned from the same cult interpreted through the religion(?) of Islam.
    Iran may not be afforded much more patience from the West. If they’re begging for a rumble, they may just get it as a parting shot from Bush.
    A few cruise missile suppositories might send them a message all right. It’s sad we have to even be thinking of such actions at this late time in the evolution of humanity. The problems are all stemming from a race/culture of people who refuse to evolve from the stone age.
