We’ll know soon–in my judgment, Thompson need only sustain this performance for a couple of days before votes, and money, start moving in his direction. But tonight the one consistent and authentic conservative in this race made himself the man to watch. When Fred roars, he roars.
I missed the debates. Too bad, because he’s getting rave reviews.
Winner: Thompson. This performance was so commanding, I wanted his last answer to echo back to the lights in the back of the auditorium, blow out all the lamps and spotlights, for the theme to “the Natural” to play, and for him to trot around the stage in slow motion while sparks showered down in the background.

Before I begin my suggestions for the Ron Paul Campaign, let me first say I like Ron Paul’s campaign, and I think it is good for America and the political process. Why do I think so? It is because people such as Ron Paul shake up the system, and Paul takes a lot of correct positions such as opposition to the Iraq War, opposition to foreign aid to Israel and the rest of the world, as well as having unrelenting support for the civil liberties of the American people.
How can anyone run for President of the United States and not mention the overwhelming power of the Israeli-First, Jewish extremists in American politics and media. Everyone in Washington, D.C. and in practically the entire world knows that the political fundraising process, Presidential policy and Congressional process is firmly under the control of the Zionists who are using the United States as its worldwide hitman, a role that is doing us irreparable harm. Jewish extremists are the political fundraisers and power brokers and they also dominate the mass media, the single greatest influence in politics.
Ron Paul is not just demented. He’s a creep. A white-power/white militia fan, a jooo-hater, gay-hater, ni**er hater, states rights neo-confederate. Debates the wisdom of the US entry into WW2, WW1, and even the Civil War.
I’m a libertarian, but a pragmatic one. He’s a crack-pot. Nothing of his so-called domestic programme — a return to the gold-standard, abolition of the IRS and all taxes (including consumption taxes — replaced by, wait for it, user fees), etc., is achievable and he knows it. I figure at 70+ he’s really just doing this as a kind of pre-retirement show having tired of his 10 terms in Congress (term limtis, anyone?) where he voted for the pork before voting against the pork. A Creep.
He lacks pragmatism. Just one example: all libertarians favour the free movement of people and goods all round the world. But that’s now a Edwardian era memory. Pragmatism: you can’t have open immigration AND a welfare state. One or the other. The welfare state ain’t goin’ anywhere soon.
Obama: He’s no “cloud dweller”. He’s a creep too. The very worst kind of hard-left commie race hustler. He has out Alinskeyed Hillary! Check out his S. Chicago church. Gasp.

Yeah, I read about Ron Paul’s Newsletters over 10 years and the ridiculous notion that he may not have known about the content of the ones not actually written by him. What a laugh. Dr. Ron Slimeball.

Ron Paul has also taken up the completely false and ahistorical ‘western colonial imperialism’ reason that Islamists and apologists use to justify jihad.
What an idiot! Just what the USA needs, eh? Another southern moron chanting “Bring it on!” The good news is that this old boy has two chances at presidential power: none and none.
When the dust is finally settled, Hillary will get the nod, who she fingers for the VP is anyone’s guess at this point. Oprah/Obama may be a good guess for obvious reasons.
Hillary and Bill will be a big show and the Liberals love a big show. The substance takes second place.
The Republican winner is not so clear. Republicans tend to go beyond the surface, can’t be easily bought or conned. Their slate of candidates makes it difficult to pick a possible winner at this point.
Fred is impressive in debate,he’s cool and confident, nothing phony or contrived. That surely counts.
If a candidate is desperate for power for the sake of power one can spot them quickly, the old all things to all people, promises without a clue as to how they’ll be possible.
The ticket down South has to be Fred/Mitt. Fred can do 2 terms before the age things get to be a factor, and by that time Mitt will be ready to go for 2 terms.

I agree with you Irwin Daisy re: Ron Paul. Ron Paul has dug up the Constitution and made it an issue in this Republican campaign – I like that he is all for PROPERTY RIGHTS and the rights of the INDIVIDUAL CITIZEN.
Fred Thompson is on a roll – he, like the brave Americans on Flight ’93, will steamroll to the Oval Office and save the United States of America from enemies both foreign and home grown. Fred would get my vote if I was an American.
I took that poll Mary T. ; my choices made me a huge Fred Thompson supporter followed by Hunter, Romney and Giuliani.

I’ve heard other similar comments that Obama would be a Hillary “dream” pick. But if I was him, I wouldn’t be too keen on taking it.
Think of what Al Gore had to put up with in the Clinton 1 White House. Bill would have way more power than Obama in a Hillary White House.
Regarding Fred, his job is simple…start winning primaries (or come no worse than second). You can’t keep coming 4th or 5th and expect to get the nomination.
