Memorial dedicated to Polish, Jewish and Soviet victims of the Nazis unveiled in Poland (PICTURES)
Two days ago – On December 18th, 2007 and amazing memorial has been unveiled in my hometown Lowicz (Poland).
The idea of this memorial is to commemorate the Jewish and Polish citizens of Lowicz and also the Soviet POWs – all the victims of two forced labour camps located near Lowicz during WW2.

Acknowledging mistakes
The majority of the terrorist acts of the last three decades, including the 9/11 attacks, were perpetrated by Islamic fundamentalists in the name of Islam. We, as Muslims, find it abhorrent that Islam is used to murder millions of innocent people, Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Inconsistencies in the Koran
Unfortunately, Islamic religious texts, including the Koran and the Hadith contain many passages, which call for Islamic domination and incite violence against non-Muslims. It is time to change that. Muslim fundamentalists believe that the Koran is the literal word of Allah. But could Allah, the most Merciful, the most Compassionate, command mass slaughter of people whose only fault is being non-Muslim?
The Koran & the Bible
Many Bible figures from Adam to Jesus (Isa) are considered to be prophets and are respected by Islam. Islamic scholars however believe that both the Old and the New Testament came from God, but that they were corrupted by the Jews and Christians over time. While neither Testament calls for mass murder of unbelievers, the Koran does. Could it be possible that the Koran itself was corrupted by Muslims over the last thirteen centuries?
The need for reform
Islam, in its present form, is not compatible with principles of freedom and democracy. Twenty-first century Muslims have two options: we can continue the barbaric policies of the seventh century perpetuated by Hassan al-Banna, Abdullah Azzam, Yassir Arafat, Ruhollah Khomeini, Osama bin Laden, Muslim Brotherhood, al-Qaeda, Hizballah, Hamas, Hizb-ut-Tahrir, etc., leading to a global war between Dar al-Islam (Islamic World) and Dar al-Harb (non-Islamic World), or we can reform Islam to keep our rich cultural heritage and to cleanse our religion from the reviled relics of the past. We, as Muslims who desire to live in harmony with people of other religions, agnostics, and atheists choose the latter option. We can no longer allow Islamic extremists to use our religion as a weapon. We must protect future generations of Muslims from being brainwashed by the Islamic radicals. If we do not stop the spread of Islamic fundamentalism, our children will become homicidal zombies.
Accepting responsibilities
To start the healing process, we must acknowledge evils done by Muslims in the name of Islam and accept responsibility for those evils. We must remove evil passages from Islamic religious texts, so that future generations of Muslims will not be confused by conflicting messages. Our religious message should be loud and clear: Islam is peace; Islam is love; Islam is light. War, murder, violence, divisiveness & discrimination are not Islamic values.
Religious privacy
Religion is the private matter of every individual. Any person should be able to freely practice any religion as long as the practice does not interfere with the local laws, and no person must be forced to practice any religion. Just as people are created equal, there is no one religion that is superior to another. Any set of beliefs that is spread by force is fundamentally immoral; it is no longer a religion, but a political ideology.
Equality
Islam is one of the many of the world’s religions. There will be no Peace and Harmony in the World if Muslims and non-Muslims do not have equal rights. Islamic supremacy doctrine is just as repulsive as Aryan supremacy doctrine. History clearly shows what happens to the society whose members consider themselves above other peoples. All moderate Muslims must repudiate the mere notion of Islamic supremacy.
Sharia
Sharia Law must be abolished, because it is incompatible with norms of modern society.
Outdated practices
Any practices that might have been acceptable in the Seventh Century; i.e., stoning, cutting off body parts, marrying and/or having sex with children or animals, must be condemned by every Muslim.
Give them a visit.
I forgot to mention that even though Christians might be offended at the way one of our major feast days is given short shrift in Canada, I don’t know of any Christian who has taken, or would even think of taking, our feelings of being offended to a Human Rights Commission.
I think most Christians understand the constant good will and sacrifice needed to ensure freedom of expression, faith, and speech in Canada. Taking frivolous hurts and offences to HRCs, trivializes genuine human rights.
It makes no sense to curtail others’ human rights when attempting to ensure your own.
Thanks for that link, Irwin. Yesterday we were talking about moral models in another thread. The ReformIslam manifesto is an example of Muslims who have a moral model that has much in common with mine (modulo the one meta-ethics issue) and the principles we were discussing.

Well said, i make a point of thanking my customers & wishing them a Merry Christmas
i like it when iam shopping & my customers always seem have a smile on their faces after shopping in the store, if i can make my customer have a good feeling after shopping here i feel i have had another succesfull year & have created repeat customers that appreciate my business.
Retailers just don’t seem to say Merry Christmas as much anymore.
Then there was the guy that in front of other customers & loud enough told me off a couple of years back for saying Merry Christmas & informed me it is not socialy correct & i should stop saying it (In my store), so i politely told him (as i was in the Christmas Spirit) to get his socialy Incorrect Ass out of My Store & don’t bother coming back & You can still Have a Merry Christmas, every one in the store congratulated me acouple even clapped(i told the story here 2yrs ago shortly after it happened)
So i make a Point of really saying it Now, Damm it makes me feel good after a long day

Syed Soharwardy – our local Imam – has recently filed with the Alberta Humans Rights commission against the Western Standard blog re past comments that have appeared on the blog. “Fearing for his life and with no place to go”, he says …… In fairness, some of the words flashed on the screen as written by a commenter were pretty bad.
If all of this is not toned down, we are going to move from Libel Chill to Libel Freeze and society at large is destined to be a huge loser.
Apparently he was told that he should have filed with the federal CHRT as web sites are under federal control. At least the AB Commission seems to have dispensed with this at their end – but we shall see.
A few days ago he was on TV talking about how we should be able to move ahead by talking things out, etc., etc. Right. And then he turns immediately to the HR Commission.
One plus is that the HR Commission acknowledged publicly that a complaint had be laid (unusual until now) and apparently has been rejected so the the public push back must be having some positive effect.
As with civil litigation, it should be open to the public (via their web site) about who is laying charges against whom in any Human Rights Tribunal. We should not have to hear about the goings on after they have been completed. Apparently the AB Commission does not report on their website if a matter is settled by arbitration – only if there has been a finding against the respondent.
He was also on TV a couple weeks back playing the racist, victim card re the young girl who was not allowed to continue in a soccer game while wearing a hijab secured under her neck. He was probably ready to file with ABHRC over this as well but thankfully, cooler heads prevailed (I think)
The AB soccer gurus met and decided that yes, there is such a thing as a sports hijab that is being used in many other places world-wide so they ruled that the sports hijab (does not tie under the neck) is now permissible. The young girl is back playing soccer.
Sooo, Syed – these things can and will be worked out via discussion – not by resorting to HR filings every time your nose gets out of joint.
To persist in doing so is doing nothing but alienating most everybody and it becomes a lose-lose situation(s).
2007 was definitely better than 2006…

I have no idea when this hearing will take place, so we’ll have to keep our ears to the ground on that one. As for where, my guess is that the CHRC office being in Ottawa, that’s where this will be heard. Bloggers and commenters, please share relevant news and information as it becomes available.
This one is big enough that we should be doing everything we can to shine the bright light of day on the proceedings and use all our remaining civil rights to protest them, to support Mark Steyn and MacLean’s Mag. and to let these heathen censors as well as our political representatives know how seriously we take this. A Mark Steyn “read-in” is just one of many possibilities we could consider.

I doubt it.
It’s not a matter of Christians being obnoxious, just a matter of owning our faith, owning our spiritual memory/history, and not being ashamed of doing so. Others in our society are encouraged to be proud of their culture, history, etc., so it doesn’t make any sense, really, for Christians to be expected not to.
Double standards abound in Canada. I think it’s time–at least for me–to stand for what I believe, to be a rock in the river. If others don’t like it, then they can go around me. I don’t see why I should always have to be the one to go around others. I don’t see why I should always be the one to have to worry about “offending” others.
Did the HRC never hear of Winston Churchill?
Winston wrote in blunt honesty about the Muslim modus operandi.
