“The Partisan” can fit anyone resisting an occupation – if foriegn soldiers were occupying my town in Canada, I can tell you my friends and I would not surrender, nor would we try to kill innocents but we would kill soldiers to drive them out.
The US army is not the equal of the Nazi occupying Holland. But they are occupying Iraq and even though most on here like to imagine, that those killing US troops are all Islamist fanatics or Al-Queda – the truth is most are ordinary Iraqis who have lost family or are simply resisting occupation. Yes there are also some foriegn fighters, Al-queda, and common criminals – but they are the minority.
They are doing what we would be doing if we were under occupation. It’s unfortunate because the US troops are good people just following orders.
Canada liberated Holland for the Nazi in WWII, and then we left and they are still quite gratefull for it.

To be fair… Our “troops” are the ones occupying *their* countries, so whining about support for opposition and (gasp) armed resistance doesn’t gain much sympathy with me.
I frequent a lot of American knife and firearm forums and am amazed by the mentality there vis a vis insurgents in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many of these guys are die-hard 2nd Amendment-type who would be doing EXACTLY the same thing as the “insurgent terrorists” they are so quick to despise if the UN or some “coalition” showed up in their state.
