CBC’s Ashley Burke filed a glowing report on Mark Carney’s New York pitch to US investors: “Be absolutely clear, Canada strong will help make America great again.” The piece frames Carney as the savvy dealmaker touting investment, autos, aluminum, critical minerals, and energy cooperation… complete with optimistic quotes from the Trade Minister about finding a “path forward” in weeks. It’s all presented as smart, forward-looking diplomacy that Wall Street and Trumpworld should love
Buried deeper (and quickly passed over): Canada’s former top trade negotiator admitting they’re “pretty firmly stuck,” no sign of actual CUSMA review talks, Mexico already doing bilateral rounds while Canada waits, and the U.S. ambassador publicly airing frustration with Canada.
That’s slightly unfair to the CBC, this is hardly their “peak”.
In related Sharp Elbow developments… By midsummer we’ll probably be told the fastest way to strengthen Canada is to mow North Dakota’s lawn and rotate its tires.
Mr. Carney says anti-American things to some people! and pro-American things to others. But our national media laps up both without criticism.
They lap up like dancers!
CBC is a good servant to its paymaster.
Carney is a consummate bovine excrement artist and totally duplicitous. He is not to be trusted unless his bank account is increasing, and maybe not even then. He has an ideology and he works it for profit. His moral perspective is “I am going to get mine: sucks to be you”.
It has to be clear to Trump that Carney cannot be trusted, if for no other reason that he constantly lies. I think Carney has about as much job security as Raul Castro.
Carney’s talk isn’t much different than his predecessor, the Black Retard, who constantly said different things to different people from city to province to nation to continent to his wife.
Ill sum it up for what the CBC is trying to get across. A new partnership in what Carnage? That they foolishly succumb to your net zero scam like Europe wants to adopt? It is the whole reason why you want Canada to align with Europe because they want in on the net zero scam under Brookfield.
