22 Replies to “40% Of Americans Think The Surge Is Working”
Fabulous … just fabulous.
This bodes well for the upcoming presidential race.
The far left loons that inhabit the Democratic party leadership in congress are so obviously not fit to govern that even their own base is vomiting.
Too bad we’ve heard jack about Iraq up here in Canuckistan since the surge started working.
I bet the numbers would look very different here in the land of the CBC and CTV and other lying hack-propagandists.
John:
The DemoRats in Congress are not there to govern.
They are there simply to obfuscate and roadblock
anything that Bush proposes. They’re not interested in governing in the best interests of the people but rather to ramrod their own angenda
of “anything Bush does is wrong”.
The war in Iraq is a prime example. Attempt to cut funding just like they did during the Vietnam war which caused the US to pull out before the job was done.
The word Traitors comes to mind.
100% of thinking Americans know….
MSM tiring of reporting the Iraq war + Extemeists tiring of blowing themselves up
= The surge is working
BTW…I support the war and the troops!
I bet the numbers would look very different here in the land of the CBC and CTV and other lying hack-propagandists.
The main difference here in the USA is that the lying hack-propagandists have different initials, like CBS and MSNBC. Thank God for the web, Fox News (which I don’t watch, since I don’t have a television), and the Wall Street Journal.
Jim,
Up here, they made it so that 99% of people won’t get Fox news but everyone gets US and CDN networks, the CBC and CNN.
Of course of the 69%, probably about 90% of those don’t even know who’s in congress…..
Exactly, warwick. Our CRTC, or government censorship and propaganda committee restricts and controls the media to which we have easy access to up here.
I get Fox News, only because I pay extra. Regular cable will only give you CTV and CBC propaganda. Double your costs and you’ll get CNN. Add more to that, and you’ll get Fox News. That means honesty and clarity – eg, Bill O’Reilly, Hannity and Colmes. Oh, and CNN does have a special program of Glenn Beck. He’s similar to O’Reilly.
It isn’t merely the surge that is working, but the overall agenda of the US, which was to free the Iraqi people from tribalism, to enable them to move into a civic mode of governance. They are doing that – and that means that they, themselves, get sick of the tribal gang-bashing of each other, and start to collaborate and work together. It’s working. A tremendous accomplishment for the Americans.
Now, to see if that movement can spill over into states like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria..
And the US Democratic-controlled congress sure has shown up the Dems for incompetence!
Why are we talking about “surges” 3 years after the war was declared over and 4 years after we were told it would be a 14 week operation?
Any presidential candidate that advicate maintaining present funding or expanding funding for the ME involvement will lose.
Dems are pissed at the Dem congress for not rolling back the war and the GOP voter is POed at them for their rubberstamp spending in the ME.
ME as a lone US funded foreign policy is in deep shit with the voter regardless of their party.
Hmmm, I am a GOP Voter and I support the WOT. The Satan Spawned Democrats dug their own destructive hole thru the pure hatred of anything that pertains to President Bush.
IMHO, if we don’t establish a Democracy in the ME then they will establish a jihad in our local Malls.
Not to mention, maybe, just maybe, we could have aready won this dayyum War if the Democrat Operatives had not published our Military Secrets on the front page of the New York Times.

I will predict here and now that Rudy Guiliani who 100% supports the liberation of Iraq beats Hillary who unequivocably (sp.) supported it in the beginning (and who many suspect will support it if she were to win) will beat Her like a drum taking over 65% of the electoral college.

Dying by blowing oneself up must be very tiring.

Considering that 24/7 the MSM airwaves downplays, with the exception of FOX and talk radio, or omits entirely any positive news from Iraq that doesn’t fit their metanarrative of total failure I’m amazed that 40% polled understand that the surge is working.
Congress has been polling below Bush on various polls for months. The slobs in both parties have done nothing about slowing down their porkbarrel spending and refuse to do anything about our southern border. Granted, the Dems are the most despicable. Overall, it’s a lousy talentless Congress.
Being a fairly recent (last 4 years) arrival in Canada, by way of growing up in Pennsylvania, I can assure you that most of Congress on both sides has been pretty lousy of late. Not to happy with Bush, either- but GOd! Help! Us! if the Democrats take the White House next fall.
However, the surge IS working. Just google the blogs of Michael Yon, Michael Totten or Iraq the Model- they are some of those committed to telling the Truth out of Iraq, as opposed to the vast majority of the MSM in the US, Canada AND Europe.
at the grand strategy level the Great Game continues as it always has, despite the morons that operate the MSM.
The enemy was and is Iran.
The Iranians are now nicely surrounded, with US forces and significant military infrastructure in place in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan while the 7th Fleet covers the ocean approaches.
Doesn’t matter what the peaceniks think.
Si vis pacem, para bellum.
Good work Yanks
Is anyone here really all that surprised that a dem congress in the US operates any differently than a lib senate in Canada?
Nope, Teddy. The only distinguishing thing between the lefty American Dem losers vs the Lib Canadian losers in government is the noticeable accented hard “A”. Same stupid socialist game plan, although here they get trounced more here, thank God, than in Canada.
Expand that to Europe. If what is left of rational Western culture is ever going to defeat Islam, the left, now Useful Idiots for them here, there and everywhere, has to go down in flames first.

Thank God for the internet and Google’s language translator service. As time goes on it is going to be invaluable.
Fred and Otto, agreed,
Yet Fred, let me suggest that we include Saudi stealth as our enemy along with Iran.
I Read where the Saudis fund madrasses that take in young men by offering them regular meals and the only price is submission to brain washing.
Not sure of just how friendly that is to us. = TG
Fred: agreed re: Iran
However I think Syria is next up for subjugation and then liberation. It too is surrounded and the Israeli/ CIA level of infiltration is far higher than Iran courtesy of the porous borders of lebanon and turkey. hezbollah is both the most immediate threat and the key to truly isolating Iran from the rest of the islamic world.
Look for a roll back the advances Hez has made in Lebanon and on into syria which is also very weak economically within the next 2 years. Sooner of Rudy gets a strong mandate with lots of new rep congress and senators on his coattails.
I think its quite funny how throughout basically this entire administration, and the second term for certain, being able to get in the range of 50% approval (and usually lower) for an initiative becomes cause for celebration. Where as previous presidents have been able to actually unite a good majority of Americans, this one only seems to divide. Its kind of like when gas jumps from 80 cents to a $1.20 per litre and everyone cries all the way up, but then it comes down to $1 and people think its the best thing since sliced bread.
No, Steve, we’ll think it’s the best thing since sliced bread as soon as it falls back to .80 or lower.
Libs thin 1.20 or Higher is the best thing since sliced bread. Watch the dhimmicrats once they take the White HOuse, gas prices will go up at least 25%
I have a better idea! How about a “surge” that surrounds a nuclear explosion!! Careful not to use too much power! We do want to keep the oil in nearby Kuwait!
