36 Replies to “Another Poll”

  1. The advance recce group of the Green Army is already here in Vancouver. Seems they blew their cover and ended up in the bars in Yaletown, much to the delight of the locals.
It will be a good game.

  2. But the real question is what will happen to Toronto the good’s fragile little ego when the Riders and Bombers have a late Labour Day celebration in the confines of their sweet white elephant dome?

  3. dmorris – you’ve got it backwards. Saskatchewan is at BC so your post should read:
    Saskatchewan 31
    Lions 24 🙂

Mayor David Miller is going to whine that, as a world-class city, Toronto deserves a world-class CFL team, and the feds should should pay for it.

  5. It’s really too bad that Saskatchewan fans think dominating an online poll will give their team a chance to beat the Lions in their own dome.
Sorry. They’sa goin down… again. Lions repeat.
    – and yes, I am a card-carrying member of the “I Hate the Saskatchewan Roughriders” facebook group.

  6. AJ, true, but Miller is a fancy-pants boy, and doesn’t know the first thing about football.

  7. The Bombers have packed their bags for a week-and-a-half stay, folks. That’s all I need to comment on. Bombers versus Banjo-Pickers on the 25th!

  8. Bombers versus Banjo-Pickers on the 25th!
Did someone from WINTERPEG just call BC’ers “Banjo pickers”??? And here I thought Deliverance was filmed in and based on a true story from Manitoba.

  9. Yukon Gold do you really think they will be too embarrassed to go home after Sundays Game? If so then why only a week and a half clean underware
Sask got lucky last week escaping a loss to the cowboys. They shoud be happy to just come and enjoy the 10+ degree wheather here in lotus land.
Go Sask GO and take the Argos with you.

  10. Sly…yes…If that refers to the numbers being the same but the names having been reversed so now BC is waay ahead.

  11. WE’RE IN A DIFFERENT TIME ZONE. WE WAKE UP TWO HOURS LATER THAN YOU. GET IT TOGETHER, KATE. THERE’S NO CONSPIRACY, JUST YOUR OVERSIGHT.
As Nelson Muntz would say, “Ha ha!”

  12. Looks like they’ve got a new poll up now.
Sorry Leo’s the road to the Grey Cup may go through BC, but the bus isn’t stopping until it hits Saskatchewan (except for a brief stint in Calgary where Tom Higgens get thrown under it).

  13. Pfft! Everyone knows that the Banjo Pickers are from Regina. B.C. has the Dirty Hippies, and Toronto has the Ego-nauts.
And come on, Rat, Winterpeg? Is that the best you can do? From a town with some of the cushiest year-round weather that still needs to play football indoors? Lotus-landers, come back when your testicles drop and you’re willing to play outside.

  14. WLMR sed:
“Go Riders!! Anyone who can whup the Stamps deserves the cup”
    —-
So… every team deserves it, then?

  15. Don’t get me wrong here….but… I am a die-hard Lions fan.
However….with the huge # of tickets sold so far,I wonder if the Lions themselves have considered the infamous noise factor in the Dome, since I predict a lot of pro-Rider’s noise.
This has the makings to be a barn-burner of a football game.
    Hail the CFL!

  16. Dear Riders/Rider Fans,
First of all, welcome to BC, perennial home of the Western Final. You should try hosting one of these some time. They are a blast.
While a Lions’ victory is inevitable, please make plans to at least show up for the game this year. Last years’ 45-18 blow out in the Western Final, while flattering to your team, didn’t exactly make for a nail biter.
After the loss, try not to engage in quite as much Dion-esque whining (“This is not fair!”) as you did the last time our third string quarterback beat you at home. And remember, there’s always next year.
    Sincerely,
    Lions Fans

  17. Pictures on third page of Regina Leader-Post show that in Saskatchewan, Roughrider Football is a Religion:
(these are posted on the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church outside message board thingy)
“Thou shalt tread upon the lion; PS 91:13”
“The Lion perishes for lack of game; JOB 4:11”

  18. Interesting poll movements. Since the latest result shown on the above screen capture (see Update), the Sask vote has advanced 1287 compared to the BC advance of 50 votes. 25 to one ratio. Aha ha ha!

  19. SARGENT PRESTON OF THE YUKON and his faithful sled dog KING and BALTO they thinks PETA asbeing idiots

  20. Their poll is skewed in that one can vote, clear his browser, vote, clear his browser, and keep on voting…

  21. The Leos will rock the Riders. There’s glorious Jarious a very humble “3rd” stringer (only in BC), there’s Murph facing perilous Perry, Cameron Waking em up, Brett tossing water on the smoldering Rider fire. But really, we admire Kerry Joseph a lot. Cam Cole says Kerry is the best steal the Riders have had since getting Ron Lancaster in 1963 (also from Ottawa) for a bottle of scotch! Kerry Joseph represents the very best of the CFL on and off the field. Welcome Rider fans to the House of Orange tomorrow. You’ll play proudly no doubt but you just won’t win against the powerhouse we lovingly call the Leos.

  22. One of the three greatest football games I ever saw, the 1989 Grey Cup, involved the Riders and I’ve been a fan ever since. I guess I constitute the Missouri Saskatchewan Roughriders Fan Club. Got a uniform with my name on it and everything. Sewn on too, not that silkscreened garbage. Anyway, my Riders will take it all. End of story. You got a problem with that, come on down and we’ll talk. First five rounds are on me.
