Exactly right WKM. Michael Moore, who would make Goebbels blush, put out some astounding propaganda pieces and one of them, Bowling For Columbine, claimed that hundreds/thousands of children are killed each year in the US.
What Moore fails to inform the audience on is that when he says “children” he is including people up to the age of 25. Secondly, he counts two gang bangers shooting one another as “children” being harmed by guns. The reality is that on average one child per state is killed each year by finding a gun in the house and misusing it. That’s an average of 50 children [under 18] annually killed in these types of accidents, not the thousands Moore would have you to believe.

Ahhh, numbers numbers numbers. You have to be careful about the words describing them. Just as “children” in gun-control discourse means anyone under 25, “gun related deaths” include suicides. In a country of 300 million people, there are going to be suicides every day. You can skew a lot of stats with that one.
Back to numbers. Are there more abortion clinic bombings on Law and Order than in real life America? I’m not sure, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Readers of either Steve Sailer or John Derbyshire once tried to calculate which was the larger number; the number of white murderers portrayed on Law and Order or the actual number of white murderers in New York City. The answer was difficult to determine. When three L&O series were running simultaneously (Special Victims Unit, Criminal Intent, Trial by Jury) that meant a total of about 110 episodes a year, with virtually all of them featuring a white businessman or professional as the defendant. There are about typically about 700 to 800 murders a year in New York City this decade, with 85 to 90% of them committed by blacks and hispanics. (Of course 2001 was atypical, with 3,000 extra murders committed by Saudi Arabians and Egyptians.) So, determining which number was larger was a tough call and probably varied from year to year.

Of the major bombings(damage more than ten thousand dollars)Thomas Spinks and Kenneth Shields, as a team, were convicted of six major bombings and three arson’s.
The rest reads much the same way. A few nut-bars responsible for most of the bombings and many of the arsons.

In July, I made a complaint to the CBC about Avi Lewis’s offensive comments in his interview with Ayaan Hirsi Ali. I especially targeted what I considered his anti-Christian hate speech, when he equated Isalmic terrorists with Christians, whom he narrowly and hatefully defined as people who murder abortion doctors.
I received, in all, about four communications from CBC, most of it obfuscating bafflegab, saying what a fine guy and superlative journalist he is. Buried deep inside the blather was the following from the Ombudsman:

“Mr. Lewis’ exchange with Ms. Ali did not indicate an “anti-Christian” bias [I beg to differ], but his comments do not achieve the level of fairness or accuracy that are called for in the existing policies. At the same time, I would urge senior programmers to address policy questions that would more clearly encompass the evolution of program formats. [What?!]
