Free Speech In Europe’s Muslim-Controlled Capital

***
I’ll bet you missed this on last night’s national news;

To commemorate September 11th, people from around Europe had planned to do something about the things they weren’t happy with – in this case, it was to demonstrate against the Islamization of Europe. Naturally, their demonstration was banned by Brussels’ government and the riot police were sent out to meet the demonstrators:

Brussels Journal;

The grey-haired man whom we see being attacked by the police first is Luk Van Nieuwenhuysen, the Vice-President of the Flemish Parliament. Shortly afterwards we see the police maltreating Frank Vanhecke, a member of the European Parliament and the party leader of the Vlaams Belang. We see how he is handcuffed and pushed into a police bus. Afterwards we also see the police “taking care” of Filip Dewinter, the VB group leader in the Flemish Parliament. We see how his arm gets caught between the closing doors of the bus. An Italian MEP and a French MEP were also arrested. The demonstrators were kept in cells for seven hours and released this evening.

Be sure to read through the comments.

  1. Loved this comment below the article:
“The dark night of fascism is always descending in the United States and yet lands only in Europe.” – Tom Wolfe

  2. The Brussels city government is dominated by Muslims. Who do you think gave the Police their goose stepping orders?
I actually think this is a good thing, as long as it’s spread by the media. It ought to make the average citizen wake up and smell the Muslims in their midst.
Like England, Belgium is going to get bloody before it gets better. The socialists (“the cult of conspicuous compassion” as one commentor noted) have to be delt with first. But before that the majority have to get real angry.
A taste of Taliban Jack’s vision for Canada.

  3. I hope the Trappist monks – those of Orval, Westmalle, Chimay, Westvleteren, Achel, and Rochefort – all eventually make their homes in Canada, ‘cause they’re going to have to flee Belgium in the near future.
Better beer for Canada through the Islamizaton of Europe.

  4. Yes Matt,
The belgians sure do make good beer.
Stella is the obvious, commercially available one but if you’ve ever tried Martin’s Blond Ale you’ll know what the best is. I had another out west but can’t remember the name. Can’t get it here anyway.

  5. Mississauga Matt: “Better beer for Canada”
Psst. SShhh. And above all “Keep Thy Trappist Shut!!” 🙂

  6. Y’know, if I were to see brown people sticking up for white people once – just once – I might buy into this multiculturalism thing.
Just once, I would like to see smelly stoned Tibetan or Ugandan or Bolivian teenagers squatting on the lawn of the local administrative precinct playing bongos and hoisting signs that say “Free Caledonia!”, or “End Anti-White Male Affirmative Action Programs!, or “Free Speech For White People Too!”

  7. I particularly note the difference between this travesty and Quebec city, where it was the cops getting attacked.
This is much more like Caledonia. Gary McHale (and another guy whose name escapes me at the moment, sorry buddy) got tossed in the slam for 24 hours for attempting to put up a Canadian flag at Douglas Creek Estates. OPP put him down in the dirt as if he were an armed felon.
The official reason? McHale’s actions might have provoked a violent response from the Mohawks. You can believe as much of that as you want.
Tell you one thing though, whoever gave the order to take down the fat old diabetic guy and his buddy like they were armed and dangerous, he’s still out there making decisions.
It ain’t just Belgium, boys and girls.

  8. Mmmmm beer. Belgian beer would be a lot more enjoyable than what ‘Son of Bud’ Blue has become.

  9. By the way, the rot has spread to Hagersville and Brantford now. Mohawk Jerkoff Society is shutting down construction sites in both places.
Vote John Tory. He’s a dork, but at least he’s not Dalton.

  10. I believe ramadan starts tomorrow.. what better way to celebrate the start than by beating up a bunch of kuffars! This has the markings of an annual event!

  11. “Europe is threatened by bigots – not by Islam”
“The fact is that Europe and its values are indeed under threat, but the danger is not coming from Islam. Our common European values are undermined by bigots and radicals, both islamists and islamophobes, who exploit fears and prejudice for their own political objectives.”
A statment from the useful idiots at the Council of Europe. Islam has common values with western democracies, I think not. What utter absolute craven morons.

  12. Chilling, absolutely chilling. And I’ve wondered how the Germans allowed the Nazis to take over their country. Easier than I thought.
No intervention this time from across the English channel as they’re on-side, nor from this side of the ocean if the Dems win the election.
So, we have Putin at work in Russia and the EU hdqtrs in Brussels inching torwards totalatarism. What’s the next chapter in the Grand Plan? Oh, yes, a world leader arises.

  13. I have been following the Brussels Journal for a while now, and it’s an odd group of people. Some of those who post more frequently are clearly racist neo-nazis and fairly scary people.
I used to post there, but it often ended up in unpleasant exchanges with those individuals so I have stopped.
Paul Belien, who does most of the work on that site, does not seem to be one of the Neo-nazi types. Or if he is, he has at least realized that Jews are no longer the biggest threat to his world.
I really admire his courage. He is one of the strongest voices for the fight against the pan-European totalitarian bureacratic state. There are many other principled conservatives there.
Their problem, as seen in this instance too, is that the left wingers who run the government and especially the media have so far managed to successfully tar the conservatives with the Nazi/Nationalist/racist label, so that their voices cannot be heard. I have a number of perfectly rational European friends who would have no trouble totally dismissing the events in question as a nationalist racist rally.
Brussels Journal, as well as Gates of Vienna, really clarify the change that has occurred in Europe in the last 20 years. It’s all under the surface unless you look for it, and day to day life is changing so slowly there that they don’t realize what is going on. But, Europe really is dead set on becoming a non-democratic pan-continental state controlled by a central government. I don’t think it can be stopped short of civil war, which seems implausible.
I think the lesson there for Canadians is very important. For 50 years the European left wing have insinuated their ways of thinking into our education, our media, our politicians, the words we use and are permitted to use, and are much more ruthless about suppressing dissent than the right-wing actually seems to be. Once they really get control of the media and government and education it will be almost impossible to make a real change.
We have to fight the little battles, in the school boards, in the city halls, in the nomination meetings, in the online forums, and with our friends and families who don’t want to hear about these things, or we will lose the big battle incrementally and permanently.
The other lesson from Europe is that governments cynically manipulate demographics for electoral advantage. They truly don’t care about things like heritage, national culture, history. The cynical coopting of Muslims into the socialist parties, even though the shared values consist of nothing more than hatred of the West, religion, and capitalism, would have been beyond my belief if I had not seen it happening there. Another reason why our immigration policy cannot be permitted to go unquestioned forever.

  14. Bravo Vlaams Belang! Hopefully by standing up yesterday, you helped put some steel in the spines of others like you in Britain, Holland and elsewhere. The Euro-elites need to be given a strong message on a regular basis, until they start governing on behalf of their citizens instead of their own notions of political correctness.
Same message to Canadian politicians, many of whom are just as craven as their Euro counterparts.
Do we still have enough Canadians of reason and courage to say the same things here as Vlaams is saying? If the Vlaams demonstration occured here in Canada, would cbcPravda pay attention?

  15. These are the names of the people sitting on the Brussels city council:

Is it any surprise at all that the march was banned when at least 10 of the 18 members of the city council are Muslims and we all know their support for free expression don’t we… Who are the bigots?
    From the Gates of Vienna:
We must ban the practice of Islam in the West, we must deport all Muslims that wish to practice their faith, wear Muslim clothes, insist on their Islamic rights, we close all Mosques, we deliberately attack the religion using humour, satire etc. and show it for the absolute load of rubbish that it is, we attack every single defect of Muhammad, the so called perfect man, we ridicule Islam without let up or mercy and with no respect at all… but take time to keep those that want to live in the West and accept Western values and police it intelligently, deporting any that have lied or cheated, this is a not racial, its ideological, their faith with its own legal system and way of life is not compatible with our system, that is the truth of the matter and one that is ignored by our leaders to our peril.
We must look for alternative energy sources, we must stop using oil and gas coming from Muslim countries.
We must confiscate all of the ownerships of Western companies by Muslims, this is payback for their ripping us off over oil. We can in one fell swoop get back a large majority of the wealth that we have placed in their hands.
We wall off the Muslim world in its entirety, no technology, no Internet, no tourism nothing, we leave them to sink into their own sewage. We develop the doctrine of disproportionate force that any attack on us will be met with such force that they will not dare to attack us, as Winston Churchill said, they are either at your feet or at your throat.
It is possible that at the moment we are being used as some sort of melting pot concept to bring civilisation to the Muslim world, but in fact we are destroying our own civilisation, the cost is too high and the policy will not work, Islam is too extreme, there is no Moderate Islam, its submission or war, nothing else.
    Agreed.

Italy protests to Belgium over MEP arrest
The Italian government is lodging a formal complaint with the Belgian authorities after one of its European Members of Parliament was arrested during a demonstration against the “Islam-isation of Europe”. The rally had been banned by the Mayor of Brussels for fear it would threaten public order. Among those detained was Italian Northern League member Mario Borghezio. He was arrested along with other European politicians.
Italy claims his arrest violated his right to diplomatic immunity. Borghezio challenged the decision of the Belgians to stop the protest in the first place: “It doesn’t seem normal to me that on the 11th of September, in a European capital, a demonstration involving European parliamentarians, against fundamentalist Islamic terrorism, can be banned.”

  16. “The cynical coopting of Muslims into the socialist parties, even though the shared values consist of nothing more than hatred of the West, religion, and capitalism…” Sounds like the Liberal’s way of operating to me.

  17. Perhaps if they wore burkas at their demonstration, there would be no reason for the police to arrest them?!?
What a sick, warped government they have.

  18. anyone notice the “bombs” going off in Mexico?
mess with Mexico’s oil works and then Canada’s to get at the US. they don’t even have to deal with homeland security or immigration.

  19. In Mexico, it was 3 journalists who died (among others) so it would be fair to question whether it was drug related and whether these journalists have been publishing too much information.
This happens in Columbia all the time.
It’s unlikely to have anything to do with Muslim terrorists.

  20. …Generic xenophoboic comment peppered with low-grade Muslim hatred manifested in fear!!!…
Wrong. There is no fear, as well as there is no hatred. What is there is incompatibility between our democracy as it exists in the West and their Islam. Also, this is not racism, as white or black muslim are as incompatible as Arab muslim. Face it and pike off.

  21. Actually, there is fear. But it is justified. I do not fear some imaginary thing that might happen under some some worst case scenario.
I fear tomorrow’s Canada turning into today’s England. I fear Toronto turning into London. I fear being blown up in the subway on the way to work. I fear having entire parts of the city which I cannot comfortably enter because they are not populated by people who speak my language, and seem to radiate hostility and resentment towards me.
I fear having my life controlled by paper shuffling government functionaries of no compassion or vision. I fear my children being denied opportunity for advancement or improvement because they do not belong to a visible minority. I fear the economy of this country collapsing because people have no incentive to work, and are better off getting government jobs.
All these things and many others attributable to the loss of culture of independence and self sufficiency and the loss of pride in ourselves and our history have happened in the last 2 generations to varying degrees, in various places, in Europe. Things there are getting worse.
Europeans are not so different from us. It could easily happen to us. It is happening to us.
So yes, there is fear. But it is not irrational or hateful.

  22. It looks like the “new Europe” is looking a lot like the “old Europe”. Belgium is in a major political split between the Dutch Flemings and the French Walloons that may very well cause the country to vanish and split into two. The EU is also a major beauracratic and corruption that sinkhole that closely resembles the UN and could very well go the same way as the league of nations in perhaps a couple of decades.

  23. It won’t happen to us if we will not allow that to happen. Stay informed, talk to people, get martial arts training, stay fit, buy a few guns and practice regularly – i.e. be a force, not sheeple. And use Charter and voice your concerns – squeaky wheel gets the oil. It works both ways – for ‘minorities’ and ‘majorities’.
For example, my son is a white minority at school. He just was verbally assaulted by a black student regarding his race and managed to get Charter protection. It works both ways.

  24. “I fear Toronto turning into London. I fear being blown up in the subway on the way to work.”
Not just you. I swear a lot of TTC subway drivers took Sept 11, 2007 off. I was on the trains 3 times, and 2 took an unusually long time to arrive. The third arrived as expected but sat in the station for an unusual amount of time.
It was even worse than Fridays in July and August, where you can tell they’re taking vacation or phoning in sick.

  25. Just in case any of you were thinking “But this couldn’t happen in CANADA surely!”, like dumb@ss anon the troll (may his bridge fall upon him), check this out:
    http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/story.html?id=57eccbf2-45e4-408b-bf46-780e646e54d7&k=2292
Kid got stabbed to death in front of his school by person or persons as yet unknown, in broad freakin’ daylight, and Dalton uses the occasion of his death to push gun control.
Meanwhile we have Caledonia going on, where people’s deeds of land ownership are not being protected from organized crime. That’d be the Mohawk Cigarette Manufacturing Protection and Casino Gambling Society.
If you show up to protest George Bush and Stephen Harper in Ontario you get the kid glove treatment. If you show up to protest the Mohawk Warrior Smuggling Society, the cops rough you up and toss you in the can for a day or two.
Dalton wants to ban the private ownership of firearms. Coincidence? How dumb would you have to be to think that?

  26. Matt,
Blue is toilet bowl cleaner. Keith’s is the only domestic beer worthy of human consumption.
I may consider the Belgians to be France’s mini-me full of equally cowardly surrender monkeys (even the French tried to man the maginot while Belgium refused to allow the English and French into their country to plug the obvious hole in the line,) but they make damn fine beer.
For that matter, as much as I despise the French, they do indulgencies better than anyone else. It’s the grown-up stuff they have trouble with.

    From the Mope & Wail:
GATINEAU, QUE. — Federal bureaucrats are calling for a crackdown on open displays of religion in government workplaces, using a provincial commission yesterday to outline their concerns.
Ottawa is being drawn into Quebec’s explosive debate over “reasonable accommodation” for minorities, as several public servants in this government town condemned concessions being made in their workplace.
Christiane St-Laurent, an administrative assistant who works in one of the federal public0service buildings in Gatineau, listed several examples yesterday of how her office has become too politically correct.
Appearing on the second day of hearings at a Quebec commission on reasonable accommodation, Ms. St-Laurent said Quebec was right to build a secular society by removing all signs of Catholicism from public institutions such as hospitals and schools.
“The problem is that secularism is one-dimensional,” she told the commission. “We took Catholicism out of our lives, but left all this room for all the other religions.”
She listed several examples from her office, including a heated debate over whether she could decorate her cubicle for Christmas; how a Christmas party was renamed a “season’s gathering” even though none of the employees expressed any concern; and the fact that a woman uses the only sink on her floor to wash her feet before daily prayers.
“Those sinks are the same that we might take our water from, that we might rinse our coffee cups from. So to me, it’s shocking to wash your feet in the sink. I would hope people would be smart enough to say, ‘It’s a workplace. Faith and belief are a private matter and I will keep it to myself at home.’ But apparently, it’s not going both ways. People are expecting to arrive here and still live like they are in Baghdad.”
A presentation signed by seven mid-level federal public servants raised similar concerns, but without the same level of detail.

  28. I wonder if belgium is like here, where most of that we the people rabble “don’t want immigration” but luckily thats beneath discussion of the ruling chattering classes.

  29. spike1: Probably sent you to the pages, and you’re the only one with the balls to admit it. At least you have your honesty.
everyone: For those that think the end of the world is nigh, it is not. Stop using fear to justify all manner of ridiculous rhetoric and knee-jerk reactions.
Is there an article on SDA that isn’t overamplified hyperbole, ludicrous caricatures or pseudo-intellectualism? If so, of the reasonable articles, are there any that weren’t cut-and-pasted from sites or sources where people do real thinking?

  30. What is disturbing about the European situation is that, under the EU, the people are effectively losing control of their governament. Completely.
The EU governance isn’t elected by them – it’s unaccountable to the people. That is no longer a democracy.
Notice also, the several references to the US, as in ‘USA- Please help us’. The references include that the US media are ignoring what is going on in Europe.
I’m not as pessimistic as others; I think that the ‘pendulum’ will swing the other way, as Europe will start to fight back against Islamification.
What does ‘Islamification’ mean? It isn’t simply the domination of Islamism in Europe – because I maintain that this cannot happen because Islamism is alienated from economic productivity. Who will support the Muslims in Europe without the western working population? In the ME – the oil redistribution by the tribal rulers has supported the people at a minimal lifestyle. The ME has also rejected any population participation in their own governance.
So- I’m going out on a limb, but I maintain that Islamism can’t become dominant in Europe because of the inability of its members to be economically productive.
But the Islamification that I’m referring to, is the rejection of questions, debate, dissent. After all, the basic mode of ‘thought’ in Islam is the rejection of reason, questions, debate. This is what is happening now in Europe – but this has been promoted in large part by the emergence of postmodern cultural relativism after WWII.
How can a population be kept ‘dumb’, ie, unable to reason, to question? By force of religion as in Islam – but – only if the socioeconomic system doesn’t require any thinking. And, for centuries, in the ME, no scientific thought has been required. So- it was easy to ‘be Islamic’ and reject individual reason.
How can a non-Muslim population be kept ‘dumb’? By the passive-aggressive tactic of multiculturalism and cultural relativism.
    By active repression.
BUT – can it last? In Canada, multiculturalism has kept us quiet and passive – and we’ve relied on the US for innovation and dev’t. But I think this is starting to change.
I think it will change in Europe as well. I’m simply not as pessimistic as others, because my view is that (a) Islamic fascism will ‘morph’ into criminality – ie, it will lose its utopian agenda and focus on ‘making money’ by kidnappings and drug running.
And (b)Islamic ideology in the West, because it is economically sterile, won’t be able to dominate the society. If it did – the economic base of the society would collapse. I think the population will stop such an act; perhaps I’m too hopeful.

  31. irwin dasiy, belgims make shit beer. muslims will continue the killing until some one stops them.

  32. ET, Re: “…my view is that (a) Islamic fascism will ‘morph’ into criminality – ie, it will lose its utopian agenda and focus on ‘making money’ by kidnappings and drug running.
And (b)Islamic ideology in the West, because it is economically sterile, won’t be able to dominate the society. If it did – the economic base of the society would collapse. I think the population will stop such an act; perhaps I’m too hopeful.”
I think you are too hopeful, ET, also perhaps somewhat blinded. The fact that extremist Islamic ideology never has and never will contribute towards viable economic sustainability within nations doesn’t appear to stop the Taliban or Al Qaeda in their murderous pursuit of power. Besides, what is this notion of yours that “Islamic fascism will ‘morph’ into criminality”. H3ll! Criminality has always been one of the pillars of Islamic fascism. They go hand-in-glove with each other, they always have.

  33. joe canuck – by ‘morph into criminality’ I mean that it will lose its ideological agenda of setting up a Pure State of Islam. Since these people, as ideologues and ‘rabble-rousers’ are unable to be productive members of a society – then the same thing will happen as happened to the Marxist revolutionaries in Central/South America when the Soviet Union stopped funding them.
The ‘rebels’ dropped their socialist ideals and, to support themselves, moved into criminality – using kidnappings, hostage taking, extortion, drug running – as their income. I’m saying that the same thing will happen with the Islamic fascists in the ME.
The Al Qaeda/Taliban pursuit of power doesn’t mean an achievement of power – and as I said, I think these groups will move into criminality as an economic means of living.
In the West – since Islamism is not conducive to working within an industrial economy – then, my question is – how can it ‘win’? How can it achieve social dominance, when its domination means the collapse of the economy? It’s like a lion finally achieving full control over a herd of cattle- and then, they all drop dead of mad cow disease. So much for the lion.

  34. jmorrison: “my favorite comment. kill them all. it is so simple i must be simple.”
Well, as they say: ‘Know thyself’.

  35. Muhammad Takes Over Protestant Church
From the desk of Paul Belien on Mon, 2006-05-08 17:41
A German reader informs us that it is not just the Catholic Church that has its quislings selling out to the Muslims. On Palm Sunday (9 April) a Protestant church in Bochum/Germany celebrated Muhammad’s birthday. The church invited the local Turkish community and the Turkish Consul, Munis Dirik, to attend the service. A Turkish music band played sufi music during the service, in which Protestants and Muslims joined together in honour of Muhammad.
In his sermon, Fred Sobiech, the protestant vicar, tried to link the figures of Muhammad and Jesus, saying: “Today we remember the birth and life of Muhammad and the beginning of the week of the passion of Christ, leading to Good Friday, the day Jesus of Nazareth was crucified.”

  36. The only answer is to stop all “open” immigration into Canada. No citizen asks for this but me. I hate to be the only one who is right. What is the matter with Canadians that see this crap going on all over the world by Muslims and yet make no protest about them flooding into Canada. Tell youar MP kto stop immigration.
Nearly all scientists agree our spaceship cannot hold the no. of people we now have let alone the natural increase coming.

  37. ET, I also submit that you are too hopeful. In support I offer Nazi Germany, Tojo’s Japan, the Soviet Union and Communist China. Just because something is ruinously stupid doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
You fight for your freedom against all comers or you don’t get to be free. Anyone who asks you to give up some freedom in return for security is not your friend.

  38. Neil, the “scientists” who say that are fear mongering Lefty swine like Algore.
As to immigration, it is supposed to benefit Canada. Immigration as presently done costs us as tax payers a hell of a lot more than we get from it in economic goodness. This is unreasonable and more to the point, fiscally unsupportable. As in, we can’t afford to keep doing it.
    Tax cut now please.

  39. In the West – since Islamism is not conducive to working within an industrial economy – then, my question is – how can it ‘win’?
Brute force, once Muslims get their numbers past a tipping point in Europe. Trust me, Islamic radicals will find their way around any inconvenient gun laws. As time passes in Europe, you’ve got an increasingly elderly population with the younger citizens demoralized, immigrating or just plain brain dead. We are talking about people that won’t even crawl out from under their rocks to defend free speech. From what I read there were only about 200 in attendance at the Brussel’s demonstration. It had organizers in multiple countries. How pathetic is that for the most important issue defining your kid’s future.
You are assuming, ET, that Europe can’t be degraded severely over time. They’ve burned themselves to the ground twice, self-destruction comes easily to them. The EU certainly won’t be western as time passes if they keep giving away their legal rights. Free speech is all but dead there.
Islam doesn’t mind trashing the geography they conquer. The descendants of today’s European sheeple are going to live in a world with a set of firm new rules and lots of material and social depredations.

  40. Not surprisoing…this is the “New” freedom in the “new” Euro democracy. Orwell is saying I told you so under his breath somewhere.
Not surprisingly Brissels is also the financial epicenter of the EU where the primary cartel running this corporate feudalism gives the EU council its politcy marching orders.
It is also the epicenter of Europe’s arms dealers.
    Coincidence?
