Despite so much bad news, much of which I deliver, it’s heartening that most of the Iraqis are not fearful of Americans. What many Iraqis REALLY want—and they say it clearly—is to communicate directly with Americans at home.

I imagine some of Iraqs two million refugees (and plenty more that want to leave but can’t) would love to pop on over. Too bad they’re not allowed in.
Jose says “Too bad they’re not allowed in.”
Really? I thought Canada had the highest immigration rate in the world and a refugee system that is the most permissible in the world. I know for a fact that people from peaceful and relatively advanced countries such as South Korea, Costa Rica, and Mexico successfully obtain refugee status here in Canada.
So, uh, are you lying again, Jose, or what? If Canada has recently passed anti-Iraq refugee legislation that I am unaware of then please set me straight.
P.S. I just did my own investigation: you’re full of crap – anti-Canadian crap – as usual, Jose. It’s the UK, not Canada, that is widely criticized for rejecting Iraq refugees.
“On the one hand since 1991 Canada is second only to the United States in the number of resettled Iraqis brought to Canada as immigrants (12,220 since 1991)”

Bob- The post is about the USA.
Bob- Your sterling research skills seem to have missed the fact that the post refers to a country called “America”.
AQI leader al-Masri has reportedly been killed, by Sunni tribesman.
Pajamas Media has the story.
I liked the statement excerpted from pg 105 of “If You Want Peace, Work for Justice” book that wasn’t highlighted: “It is not lack of vision that holds the world back. It is a lack of will”.
Justice cannot be developed in a community without individual rights and freedoms. Individual rights and freedoms exist within a democracy. A democracy exists within a community of free individuals. Justice, Individual rights and freedoms, and democracy are all dependent on each other. If one of the three is strengthened the other two become stronger also.
Nothing gets strengthened without sacrifice and no sacrifice can take place without will power. Will is what the leftist Pelosi’s of the World don’t have much of and that is because they give little value to the importance of the individual.
It’s individuals that are the source of Will.
MY ASS !
CNN has a story on the “The Office’, a 24 member group to advise the Iraqi PM, which is effectively functioning along tribal or sectarian lines, promoting and supporting the Shi’ites over other tribes.
That’s exactly what I’ve been arguing is happening, with this ‘switch-a-tribe’ agenda being carried out within the safety assured them by the presence of the US military. NOTE: The US is NOT supporting or condoning this tribalism and is insisting that Iraq govern according to a civic law, not a sectarian (tribal)power.
But – it’s happening – and it means that Islamic fascism will continue until tribalism is rejected.
Too bad they’re not allowed in.
Just because your country is in upheaval doesn’t mean you get assigned a new one.
Too bad the MSM restricts a wide spectrum of voices and everyday faces in Iraq from communicating directly with Americans. They made the everyday Iraqi as invisible as possible.
Jose: regardless of whether we are referring to America or Canada, it seems both countries let a lot more Iraqis in as refugees than any other countries. Look at Bob’s quote. Canada is number two behind, drumroll please, you guessed it, America. 🙂
How many of Iraq’s two million refugees (or the cutsey term “displaced”) do you think have made it to the USA since the war started?
