Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What next, a one square challenge from Rick Mercer?
Not usually a fan of ol’ Rex, but he does come out with some goodies sometimes. This is definitely one of them. Can’t usually stand watching Jon Stewart’s left leaning drivel either, but the Lewis Black thing had me giggling to no end. Good find.
Seems that we are in the ‘blow-off phase’.
You know. Like, when a stock market bubble reaches its peak. Almost straight up. Everyone in a frency. Pundits, talking heads on The National, saying it can only go up. Forever.
Until it inevitably crashes, that is.
Just like the fever pitch of having to get your computer “fixed” before Y2K. Then, midnight 2000AD and, and, …OOoooo. Why even in countries where they did not make computers “compliant”, … they worked just fine.
Or, put on the sunscreen so thick your skin cannot breath. How many $$Gazillion on “saving us ??” Sales graphs that look like Mount Everest. Way up one side then dooowwnn the other.
The European carbon-credits scam has already had it’s ‘dead cat’ bounce and is now in the toilet. With one square of paper, of course.
The number of franken-fields being ripped up by Suzuki’s clowns reached a fever pitch awhile ago and now, … never here about from the fanatics. Too busy filling their faces with wholesome food. Safe, wholesome GMOs. Not organic spinach. Could kill ya.
DDT ban. Panic !! Everybody panic. DDT is killing everything, ya everything, … such as … African children, by rampant malaria.
There is an explosion coming. Look out. Too many people. #’s going straight up. Just like the Nasdaq. The world’s population will explode, … unless, as predicted, by 2040-50 it will decline.
Kyoto must be peaking. By the look on Gores face. ‘Brimstine and Fire’. Fever pitch.
Or ‘across-the-room-through-the-chairs’ Suzuki. Just like chair-jumping Sheila.
Gain momentum.
Rise steeply.
Frenzy.
Blow-off.
Crash.
Seen it all before. Even tulips do it.
“Rise steeply.
Frenzy.
Blow-off.
Crash.”
Well said Ron in Kelowna. Bang on.
I usually do not give praise. Well done. If I was wearing a hat I would doff it to you sir.
Canadians, being the eternal children that they have become in the past couple of generations, will act accordingly.
The more your superiors tell you to do something, the less you want to do it. Especially when they, themselves (Elite Greenies) do the opposite. A new Prius doesn’t buy enough credits for your tour bus or Lear Jet.
I have had it with the intense political correctness that has sprung up around what car you drive, what you eat, how big your house it etc. I over-hear people continually justifying their green foot prints to one another.
I never thought a race to peasantry would become fashionable, but then, you do you account so much of what is goes on in our society these days?
The previous comments regarding a crash in this movement will coincide with the forced withholding of bowel movements when only one square is available for the clean up.
The environMENTAL phase we are going through will eventually go down in history as another supercilious period we went through like the hula hoop and bell bottom pants.
Oh sure, it may have a couple of ‘come-backs’ in the future, but as the current swath of idiot leftists die off and the reality of the burgeoning burka cult starts to become more pervasive in our society, we will follow SOWs lead to turn our attention to the disappearance of abortion clinics and cleavage in the workplace.
I can tell you now, Canadian women will all be wearing burkas long before Miami has a high water problem.
We are paying too much attention to the wrong threat.
On the upside, the Islamafication of Canada will go a long way to solving the problems of alcoholism, drug use, AIDS and Native issues and day care. I expect there won’t be much need for dance studios either. And Music stores will be limited to selling chanters. I guess there is always a silver lining.
To Jack and Dion … Muslims will not be voting Liberal or NDP once they are running the show.
I have just watched the PBS documentary on THE MORMONS. Surprising how much Joseph Smith resembles the goracle, in some of the photos. Joseph come from nowhere and with his sermons and preaching, (again resembling gore) he had a following of 1000s, but eventually people turned against him when he destroyed a printing press and newspapers for telling the truth about his plural marriages etc. He was killed by a mob. Then Brigham Young had a dream and saw JS and got the word. I fully expect one of these time that Gore or Suzuki will get carried away during a rant and say, God told me this was my mission, or some such stmt. Watch the bubble burst when that happens.
I am not anti Mormon, but their start was very violent and they were evicted from many places and states and there are/were many who were against them. Now B. Young is telling the believers how they must turn their life around, change practices etc. Sounds more like Gore as the show goes on. Will Gore meet the same end as J. Smith. Only time will tell.
“Pimp My Ride” goes green: gonna be tough to beat that. But it won’t be for want of trying, though: here’s another emission from Laurel Broten’s eco-enclave:

The Return of the Idiot
By Alvaro Vargas Llosa
Throughout the 20th century, Latin America’s populist leaders waved Marxist banners, railed against foreign imperialists, and promised to deliver their people from poverty. One after another, their ideologically driven policies proved to be sluggish and shortsighted. Their failures led to a temporary retreat of the strongman. But now, a new generation of self-styled revolutionaries is trying to revive the misguided methods of their predecessors.

The Red-Green Idiot in Canada, aka Green Goebbels: E. May.
PM’s climate stance worse than appeasing Nazis: Green leader [May] (national newswatch)
Can I make a polite suggestion here?
Not everything is about Islamists or DDT.
Mary T, you may have hit on the answer, give the Greenies their own State, or Province, and they can do as the Mormons by setting an example for us all.
I’m thinking the Yukon, or Louisianna.

Little Old Lady Speaks Out | CO2 Cap & Trade? Another Reason NOT to Vote Liberal
NEW CBO REPORT EXPOSES FAILURES OF C02 CAP-AND-TRADE SCHEMES “The CBO has revealed that a C02 cap-and-trade allocation scheme will result in a transfer of wealth from poor to rich.”
WASHINGTON, DC – Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Environment & Public Works Committee, today said the new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report on proposed C02 cap-and-trade legislation was a “devastating indictment.” The CBO report laid out the negative impact a cap-and-trade system would have on Americans, in particular, the poor. The CBO report, titled “Trade-Offs in Allocating Allowances for CO2 Emissions,” was released on April 25, 2007.
“The CBO report exposes what I have been saying all along: C02 cap-and-trade schemes are an utter failure,”Senator Inhofe said. “The CBO has revealed that a C02 cap-and-trade allocation scheme will result in a transfer of wealth from poor to rich. The Democratic leadership has to explain why they are willing to line the pockets of their corporate friends at the expense of the working class. “Far from being good for the economy, as advocates say, C02 allocation schemes will disproportionately burden the poor, raise taxes, increase government spending, raise gas prices, raise home energy costs and decrease wages. It is hard to imagine the CBO issuing a more devastating indictment of proposed C02 cap-and-trade schemes. …-

Rex does have his moments! Since I cannot stomach actually watching CBC it’s a good thing you take the time to post clips like this….. thanks!
Funny how there are no Leftist troll comments in this thread. When one of their own points out the “plank in their own eye” they surely are at a lack of words.
Even if you think of yourself as ‘on the right’, Buzz Hargrove makes much, Much, MUCH more sense than the loonie-latte crowd.
[“I think John Baird is right on the money,” said Hargrove. “Al Gore was vice-president for eight years and in the senate before that where they voted against (environmental reforms). So I don’t know where he gets his credentials to come in here and lecture.”]
[It’s so true. We’ve called him the Cadillac Conservationist before. Not many environmentalists fly in and out on jets, have giant mansions and travel in limos and then have the nerve to slam a politician who actually has a plan to reduce emissions.] Joe Warmington, Tor Sun.
[It’s time for Al Gore to just shut up and run. It’s time for David Suzuki to just shut up — unless he wants to run. Of course they can keep spinning their for-fee “eco” story but when it comes to the political arena — put your name on a ballot and see how well you can do with this issue.] JW
[I have said many times on sda, please do not confuse the “left” with the loonie-liberals.] ron in kelowna.
[Buzz now sees the folly of giving Paul Martin that CAW jacket.]rik
[Candian federal politics may be reshaping. The right and the labour-left clearly see their common enimy. The loonie-liberals. And remember, Ontaio makes up 40% of Canada, it’s main engine is the auto sector and this is what it’s leader is saying about the Gore-Suzuki axis;]rik
From the Toronto Sun
//www.torontosun.com/News/Columnists/Warmington_Joe/2007/05/01/4144261-sun.html
“Everybody is chasing this new idol called the environment without any thought of how we got here,” the CAW president said yesterday. “I am not buying the argument myself.”
But he does believe tens of thousands of jobs will be lost if the movement continues at this pace. “I think people have to recognize this problem is serious,” he said.
And it’s not global warming he’s referring to. It’s a Canada and Ontario without an auto industry he’s worried about. If Al Gore and David Suzuki get their way, Buzz said, this very well could be the result. “The rhetoric is worrisome,” he said. “We have got everything working against us right now.”
As for Suzuki ambushing Baird, that was an ugly show.
It was even uglier and nastier than when he couldn’t take the heat on John Oakley’s radio show on AM 640 a couple of months back and stormed out of the studio when challenged.
But bullies are usually gutless and also surrounded by a lot of like-minded people. They don’t want discussion. Just compliance. And it’s you who pays. But Buzz and Baird represent the people who have to pay for all this. Or who will pay!
This is the best part;
In the meantime Hargrove hopes people “don’t accept the scare tactics.
“It’s like the Y2K thing. Remember airplanes were going to fall out of the sky? It didn’t happen. There are a few people making a lot of money scaring the hell out of people.”
And that’s why you have a union leader on the left and a Tory government on the right seeing eye to eye.
you cant be green and rainbow.

Personally, I like Rex & Lewis both as they tend to say the things that Political Correctness erased from dictum over the past few decades. Gotta admire someone who takes a point of view and states it to the world regardless of the overwhelming anti-sentiment it may cause.
I think the value of the conservation movement, the lessons our parents taught us that Rex spoke of, have been lost in the hype the politicians and entertainers have created. There is very little altruism in the statements they make as they seek only to position themselves in the limelight. They really care very little about the “environment” or “climate change” and are doing it strictly for the PR it allows. Keep in mind, these are people that have made a choice to put themselves in the public eye. How they are perceived by their audience is paramount to the narcissistic lifestyle they have chosen.
I will bet that not one of these people wants for anything that is necessary to live in this environment under the system of capitalism. They have an excess of food, shelter and money and have likely forgotten how tight living can be when others control the flow of the resources needed to run a household, get to work, and feed, clothe & house yourself & your family. They will not be as severely affected by policy change that increases the cost of everything, as they have more than they need to survive comfortably, but are more then willing to parrot the mantra of the times to draw more attention to themselves.
Perhaps, once the damage is done, the future will remember these persons as the shrill, harpie-like voices of an ill-thoughtout movement of abstract environmentalism that did very little to affect the natural environment but instead caused a significant collapse and rearrangement of economic clout around the globe.
A fitting footnote of their efforts…but time will tell.
Liberal Caledonia McGuinty’s next move: Canada-wide Gaming and Lottery Scheme, aka Legalized gambling, including the numbers racket, off-track betting, poker houses, travelling crap shoots, and …
But, Canada already has all these. So, what can McGuinty do next?
Canada-wide, inter-provincial Pyramid/Ponzi scams; with Carboni Credits; just need the shills and the johns, er the suckers.
The Indulgences Have Been Legalized by our governments. Draw nigh; your salivation is here; bring your CC with you. Our casinos are air conditioned. Cash is dubious tender; we frisk.

McGuinty suggests inter-provincial emission plan
OTTAWA – Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, who is critical of the federal government’s green plan, will ask the country’s premiers to consider setting fixed emission caps and an inter-provincial emissions trading system on their own. $$$$$

I still say that all these liberal wacko green freaks should all pay a special HOT AIR TAX everytime they open their big fat pieholes and produce all that HOT AIR
Dedign a balloon that resembles AL GORE becuase it will come with its own HOT AIR
