  1. To think that this guy is in charge of the world’s most technologically advanced military machine, has a couple of wars on the go, (which he can’t figure out how to win), and is the keeper of the button. Hmm.

  2. So the brain trust at Ford has designed their hydrogen intake system to allow a 3 pronged 110 V plug to fit into it?
Something doesn’t make sense about this story. If it’s so easy to plug electricity into the hydrogen, what would prevent a 3 year old playing around the car from blowing up the neighbourhood? This smacks of simply fabricating something to continue the myth of GWB=monkey.

  3. I wondered about that too, Reed – who would make a plug that allows for an easily mistaken and catastrophic connection?

  4. I also wonder about the integrity of whoever wrote this garbage.
The last quote says it all. The guy makes it clear he is relaying the incident off the record. The reporter not only ignores it but publishes it.

  5. Can you say
~~ * The New Powered By Ford Hindenburg !!* ~~
So telling !! The mainstream media will likely fall for the hoax and AP will send it around the world as an exclusive. Will be a special suplement in Time. Media will cut down extra trees for a year till they move on.
Meanwhile, at Kate’s sda, it took only the third commenter, unhindinberged by the MSM to see the folly. Telling, also, that one of the few remaining ‘latte/basket-weaving’ commenters fell for it. Was probably ‘tipped-off’ before hand, by the TO Star, .. . be ready to pounce, without even thinking.

  6. Yep, this is another one of those “see Bush screw up” items. So a big automaker is going to show the President of the United States something that can explode that easy? In this day and age? Cripes, even toilet paper has warnings written on it. This sounds like an urban myth story to me but the left will run with it anyhow.

  7. Kate and Reid. Glad I am not the only one that occured to. Seems to be a tad on the dumb side of engineering.LOL
I guess it is GM that proclaims Professional Grade Engineering. I never thought there was any other kind until I read that.

  8. Am I the only one, who thinks that nothing worse than a blown fuse could have happened? MSM balderdash.

  9. Think people
How could a ‘gas tight fitting’ and a three pronged house power cord even be remotely interchangable?
Do you suppose someone was trying to assasinate the Pres. and make it look like an accident?
Wow,not only is the president portrayed as dumb, now the whole US as portrayed by their engineers is dumb as well.
Dumb and Dumber?…guess I’ll buy a Toyota or maybe one of China’s new Mauricemobiles!

  10. This seems to be a good time to remind everyone Bush qualified for flying, and flew, fighter jets in his younger days…

  11. Anyone out there who can explain why a car would have both a hydrogen-powered motor and an electric one? I’ve heard of gasoline-electric hybrids but hydrogen-electric? Is this something totally new?

  12. That’s nothing!! Since I was born I have managed not to disconnect the natural gas from the furnace and not to light a match when I didn’t do it.
I’m sure most people have similar hair-raising non-experiences.

  13. We all know that on G.I. JOE that SUPENTOR was cloned from histories greatest tyrants

  14. Oh yeah. And a power cord was “just left laying around” without the Secret Service (yeah…that’s S.S. for you Lberia)taking note of it???

  15. Iberia said: “has a couple of wars on the go, (which he can’t figure out how to win)”
Well, actually, I think he knows how to win them, it’s just that we have so many sensitive left-tards in North America, that it presents a hindrance when dealing with an enemy of this nature. Want to win? Here’s an opening gambit. Overwhelming, crushing force, no quarter, summary battlefield executions, un-restricted torture of higher-up Al Qaeda operatives. Unlimited ROE. Turn Waziristan into a parking lot.

  16. The mating of that power cord was as likely as an elephant making love to a fruit fly.
The real comedy is that the Ford company and big auto continue to fool the uninformed public by diverting them away from the electric answer with pie-in-the-sky hydrogen car dreams at one Million$ each.
Never mind the certified scientists you need to service your *hydrogen dream*. = TG
