Of course all I know of Turner is from his wikipedia entry, but is it a given that (A) The Liberal Association in Halston will select Turner as their “nominee” [from an American perspective the selection of party candidates seems remarkably opaque, not that there is anything wrong with the procedure {1} ] and (B) given Conservative voting intentions in Ontario that Turner would definitely lose re-election?
{1} as an aside, has their ever been any movement coming from any of the Canadian parties for any type of primary voting in the nomine selection ? Whether such a primary be party funded or state funded and controlled as in the US.
