Milestone

Early this morning, SDA passed a milestone of sorts – comment #100,000!
Honour goes to Gunney99, in the “What do we need guns for anyway” thread. (Which seems pretty lively)
(Speaking of comments threads, there’s an interesting discussion to check out on the Benedict On Islam post from September 13th.)
Much of the success of SDA is due to the wealth of reader tips and discussion. Thanks to everyone for your contributions!

  1. Thanks Kate, for giving us a platform to talk, debate and yes, even vent on occasion. I’ve actually learned a lot of things, been given a lot of ideas on directions to wander and explore the web. The only down side is that I still yell at the radio/television although now I know I am not alone anymore.
Here’s to the next 100K comments.

  2. Great blog, top o’ the morning reading.
    Who needs a gun?
Ask a policeman, border guard, prison guard, farmer, aboriginal, soldier, forestry service officer, fisherman, hunter, security service.
Gasp, there are lots of NEEDS for a gun, in Canada, on our streets….

  3. Kate: It’s a privilege for many of us to be part of the most current and intellectually honest free exchange of ideas on the net. SDA stands out as a testament to the informed and intelligent insight inherent in the average joe ( and Joette) who are never represented in the stilted MSM.
SDA and its contemporaries have created an open market place for ideas and opinion which was never realized in the deeply compromised integrity of MSM.

  4. We need gun for self defense becuase the police cant be in two places at the same time and we dont need KENNEDY,SOROS,McKELVEY,O,DONNELL or other wealthy gun control freaks to tell us how we can defend ourselves

  5. One wag said about Socrates: “The more I read him, the less I wonder that they poisoned him.”
About Kate and SDA I say: The more I read her and the commenters on her blog, the less I’m surprised that SDA is one of the most popular blogs on the Web.
Thanks, Kate, for being genuninely open, tolerant, and inclusive, in allowing dialogue and comment from all sides of the political spectrum–and also for your own common-sense, non-MSM analysis of current events.
You’ve saved the sanity of a lot of pretty fed up Canadians/Americans who are sick and tired of the left/lib/fem view of the world. Thanks for giving us a forum at which to speak up.

  6. I think this is grounds for a celbratory drink.
I’ll save it for friday though …. so remember at about 5 PM centralyou’ll be receiving a heart felt CHEERS and I’ll be downing a beer for your sake.
    😉

  7. Thanks for the award Kate. Your Blog has been an inspiration in free speech. Blogs will go down in history along with the first printing press. The circumvention of the Liberal MSM filter is the most significant event in out time.

  8. Gee gunny, you nocternal or what? 1am, 3am, isn’t that the time that most people sleep?
so did you get a trophy or certificate or something???

  9. Gee gunny, you nocternal or what? 1am, 3am, isn’t that the time that most people sleep?
By Texas Canuck at 12:39 PM.
Who is it that goes “out in the noonday sun”?
I’m not nocturnal, I’m 2 timezones away. Sorry I caught you doing some ZZZZZ.
