The emergency debate turned into a marathon session of the Dutch lower house and early in the morning an apparently emotional Immigration Minster Verdonk accepted two separate motions to reconsider revoking Hirsi Ali’s Dutch nationality. She will now have six weeks to see if there are mitigating circumstances that will allow Hirsi Ali to remain a Dutch citizen.
What to say? It is a moral victory for our embattled heroine that much is certain, but at this point it is of course of little help to her. As she mentioned during her press conference yesterday, it was the court ruling that led to the eviction from her apartment a few weeks back that forced her decision to resign from parliament and leave the lowlands in search for greener pastures overseas. Upon joining AEI she will most likely be in a position to apply for US citizenship and consider her Dutch passport as a tainted relic that will forever remind her of her dreadful last few months in The Netherlands.
Which reminds me – in the wake of Gwyn Morgan’s treatment over remarks made about immigrant gang violence someone really ought to get opinions on the record about “the success of Dutch multiculturalism” from Flapjack Layton and some of those eager Liberal leadership hopefuls.
Why don’t they Dutch just blow up the Hague and build the mother of all mosques?
For God’s sakes, watching their miserable groveling surrender is tiring.
The reason that Hirsi ali has to leave, is because she is a foreigner. Many Dutch people wishes to keep Holland white. Hirsi Ali is victim of the Dutch wish not to turn The Hague into the mother of mosques.

The Toronto Star published, May 17/06, under the title: ‘The Words that sank Harper’s Mr. Clean’ the full text of Gwyn Morgan’s speech. It is an excellent speech, pointing out the flaws of multiculturalist relativism.
Of course, the Star was trying to discredit Harper and Morgan. But, the FACTS do the opposite.

As for Hirsi Ali- she’s a remarkable woman. She’s the one who wrote the script for Theo Van Gogh’s film showing the Islamic repression of and violence against, women. Van Gogh was murdered by an Islamic fundamentalist for this film. Hirsi Ali was put under police protection, but the residents in her apartment building turfed her out, saying that they were afraid the Islamists would bomb the whole building.
And now, the Dutch, trying to rid themselves of any voices that will help them dig themselves out of the morass of political correctness that is enabling Islamofacism – are trying to get rid of Ali. The US is taking her in. Good for them.

How quickly people forget the statistics (especially the Toronto Star who spent tons of newprint spreading it) Julian Fantino presented to the public. It seems that about 80% of the violent crime in Toronto is the direct result of the actions of the Jamaican community, which consitutes less than 3% of the population.

The multicultural society was over in 2002 in the Netherlands. Minister Verdonk, who wants Hirsi Ali to leave, is opposed to all illegal foreigners. She wants to be strict with the rules, so everybody should have the correct papers to come into the country.
The Dutch borders are nearly closed at the moment, with very little immigrants coming every year. Illegal immigrants have to leave the country at their own initiative after a being in prison for a half year. The Netherlands is very hard compared with the USA.

Daan…..this is the first time I’ve heard that Verdonk’s attack on Hrisi was motivated out of respect for the law or righteous patriotism.
It seems to me that what she is doing is Piling on a member of an opposing political party in the hope of extracting some support in her constituency.

Well, it is quite simple it seems that the Dutch nationality was given to a woman with another date of birth, another family name and another previous country of residence than the woman you saw on TV, as a result of her very own statements, as Ayaan Hirsi belongs to a party whose anti-immigration line is to refuse all such cases, it is quite understandable that the immigration minister was hounded and she overreacted a bit towards that member of her own party. In a way it’s Ayaan Hirsi’s fault: lie about all kinds of stuff to enter a country (I mean saying that you come from Somalia when you are really coming from Germany, should be enough to being kicked out of the procedure, and AFTER that joining a party championing a rather harsh anti-immigration policy is asking for trouble, certainly when a) you don’t keep your lies a secret and b) seem to take the immigration minister’s side in an internal battle for power in the party

This is politics, OK? What it is really about thus far is that everybody is getting in a position to bash Verdonk, the opposition, the coalition partners and the other factions in her own party, Verdonk has been put (by Ayaan Hirsi’s own actions mostly!) in a situation where she has to
a) Show a line of action suggesting a sort of nepotism, with other words abuse of the power of her function, or
b) lie to parliament,
c) show she is hard and law abiding by sacrificing Hirsi Ali’s nationality, in which case she would be seen as somebody betraying her own buddies in her own party, or
d) she could have kept her head cool, refuseing to do things one way or another and manage the power given to her, without falling for the pressure of power politics. So far it seems she has used all of the first three options and failed the 4th, and her faction in the party has lost to both other factions, and the otherlarge faction seems to grow dominant in her party, after this scandal which is killing two birds with a stone.

Who provides these services? The US. For free. These illegals pay no taxes, but, use the educational, social and medical services of the US. AND, they are an important economic revenue for Mexico, since they send millions back to their families. So, Mexico doesn’t have to provide jobs, employment – nothing. And, it gets an economic return as well. Quite the ploy.

As for Hirsi Ali, her illegality was to lie on her immigration application, saying that she came directly from Somalia (her birthplace) rather than via stays in several other European countries. But, unlike the Mexican illegal immigrants, she’s operationally legal. Pays taxes, i.e., pays for the public services she uses. And, isn’t a vital part of the Somalia economy as the Mexican illegal immigrants are to Mexico.
Her chief fault, is her criticism of Islamofascism. Are you aware of that? She critiques the Islamic abuse of women. Are you aware of that? And the Islamic fundamentalists don’t like that; after all, in their mindset, no-one is allowed to question Islamism. But she has – and so, in their perfect citizen-style mode of behaviour in the Netherlands, they are threatening violence. Against her and against any who support and employ and listen to her. Are you aware of Islamic violence? So, the Dutch are worried; they are worried that her apartment will be blown up, their gov’t offices blown up. By those Islamic fundamentalists. That’s why they are trying any tactic to get her out of the country. Rather than dealing with the fundamentalists.
So- I’d suggest that you take a deeper view of the situation and don’t be so superificial.

Suppose she would create a political party of her own, then she would probably score more seats in the parliament then her present party, the VVD. Major problem for her is that politicians of other parties wouldn’t trust her after the events of last week.
