Poor Belinda. She asks a stupid question and gets an honest answer to the effect that the main concern of her constituents is ETHICS IN GOVERNMENT!! Next election – and none too soon – she’s fucked.

I feel pretty sure Scott Reid designed this survey to get some spin in favour of Belinda, as is, “the majority of Canadians,,, blah, blah, blah.”
Regardless fo who wins the election, it will be a treat to see BS go down to defeat.
For 5 months now, she has been undemocratically representing her constituents.
In June, when Stronach indicated she no longer wanted to be a part of the Conservatives, she should have done the honourable thing, and that is to resign her seat, opening it up for a by-election to take place. Then, if she wanted to run, and even won, there would be no problem.
Each time BS is asked why she did what she did, she says she could not vote along side the Bloc.
Why couldn’t she vote against the non-confidence motion as an independant MP? Again, she doesn’t address this.
I’m not sure why you have to join the governing Liberals in order to defeat a motion of non-confidence. I guess jumping into cabinet was a coinidence as well.
As well, I recently heard an interview with BS, in which she was asked about her past comments that Martin was “incompotent.”
Again, she danced around the issue, saying that she is “proud to be part of the government.”
She’s a female Scott Brison, a man (so-called man) who said so many awful and condesending things about Martin in the past but who now heaps praise on them.
I know, he was young and niave when he made those remarks. After all, he was only in his … mid 30s.
Anyway, that poll you posted shows that Ms. Stronach is in serious trouble.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall as she campaigns door-to-door, telling her constituents that Martin is the guy with ethics and integrity and the one that will eliminate the so-called “democratic deficit.”
“It’s all about credibility,” BS will say, “and you can put your trust in me.”

This is great! A poll that actual shows the truth. Isn’t interesting on the poll how low the immigration is or isn’t an important issue? Yet the liberals have immigration as such an important issue on their list of things to do! AND one other “miss” on the list was First Nation issues. All the stomping the Native leaders have been doing trying to influence the leaders, this also doesn’t seem to to very high on the priorty list either!

Why did she go to Libs? Simple, she is a spoiled little rich girl. When Slithers met Dithers, she made sure she got important job she is completely unqualified for by virtue of training, experience and dues paid. Sort of like when she took over Magna. She puts herself ahead of the interests of her constituents and taxpayers in general. In other words – great Liberal cabinet material! Funny, when Liebertarians came up with their “ethics” package, she was nowhere in sight. Isn’t that supposed to be her portfolio? If she doesn’t know yet she was played, she never will. I predicted long ago she would lose in Aurora-Newmarket, hardly a left wing riding. I look forward to that – bring it on!

She’s Billary’s pal, and she wanted the same prestige attached to Mrs Billary, who is a bona fide senator from New Yawk. If she can’t earn it, she’ll buy it – or daddy will. Either way, in BS’s eyes, she ranks right alongside her main rival these days.
Besides Ethics, the next three most important issues for voters in her constituency are Health Care, Education, and Defence. Only one of those three is actually a federal responsibility; one which has been shirked miserably for more than 30 years.
When (not if) Canada gets attacked by terrorists, watch that rise to the top of the list.
Ask yourself a few questions, like, for instance:
– Who is in cahoots with the Liberal Party of Canada?
– Are these same people as close to the CPC?
– Who, then, has the most to gain from keeping the Liberals in power?
– Who is BS’s daddy?
– Who are all his friends?
– Who supported Martin during his rise in politics?
– Who helped Martin buy the steamship line that doesn’t pay taxes?
I could go on but I need a break. So I’ll close by saying there was only one reason why BS slipped across the floor. Her daddy told her to. She was a plant from the beginning and she came in handy. She’s served her purpose. The power structure in Canada now needs to begin buying CPC’ers. We’ll see how successful they are.
A moment that would focus attention in Canadian politics would be a standing Belinda Stronach holding part II of the Gomery report in her hands during question period.
After Paul Martin and Scott Brison rudely pulled the rug out from under her portfolio for part I of Gomery, her self esteem has taken a severe kicking. The Liberals have little faith or trust in Belinda and she knows it. She served their purpose and is waiting only to be dismissed to has-been status and moved away from the halls of power.
She’ll never get the chance to hold Gomery’s part II before the public. The possibility of a cathardic meltdown happening on the PM’s lap would be too great with the potentially huge implications affecting women voters in Toronto. I think one way or another there’s a negative career change coming to greet Belinda soon…and Paulie’s going to be quiet about it.
Curious as to what that Social Issues: Lifestyle option means.

It seems anybody can vote. You don’t even need to put in a valid/realistic postal code or phone number, name or address.
I wouldn’t get too excited about the survey results thus far. Despite the fact that ther is no listing of the number of voters, I calculated that at as of the snapshot posting above only 61 people had voted.
I just looked at it again, and it appears that another 56 people voted (including me and I live in Alberta). It is curious, however, that in 15 days (it started Oct 30)only 61 people voted, and then Kate’s blog drives an additional 56 people to it in a couple of hours.
Lifestyle issues of course being SSM. I was wondering why she’s been away from the House for so long. But it’s likely that Scotty the Ferret, who aspires to replace his Spiritual Mentor PMPM, has indeed pulled the rug out from under her. If anybody saw PM’s Valley Girl impression of her the night she met with him to discuss her ‘career change’, well, I’d have found a way to screw him so he’d be limping for the rest of his life.
