Yeah, they don’t listen to us but I went to the website and let them know how disgusted I am with the corruption in this wing of the government too, it did make me feel better.   10. Did anyone see the CTV late news addition? My God, they were almost kind to the Conservatives! They reported almost all good stuff and said not once but TWICE, with emphasis, that 71% of Canadians do not believe Martin was without guilt, their lead story! The weasel Brison barely got a minute with NO air time on the Harper lobbyist thing, it almost came across as dismissive. Maybe people in the undecided position will take note and figure that if 71% think he’s lying then he must be. I know I will sleep better tonight knowing that others are starting to wake up!

    That’s two big polls now. Here’s my take: For political junkies Gomery’s release comes as no surprise, but many weren’t following it that closely, or were following it but were willing to give the libs the benefit of the doubt. That benefit is now gone.
    Also significant is that the media got a little burned standing behind the Libs in the last election, and although they overwhelminly lean left, they don’t want to look foolish. Look for more balanced coverage this time around (note I said more balanced – it’ll never be fully balanced, that’s what the blogs are for).
    If Harper continues to come out with a positive message of his policy (note he can do so while linking it to Liberal corruption as he did with the new accountability legislation) he can take a majority.
    Some of you may be laughing. Save this page and then come back after the election and see if its still funny.

    OTTAWA — Former governor general Adrienne Clarkson received a $10,000 dining table as a goodbye gift — part of a hefty $1.3-million tab for the change of vice-regals at Rideau Hall.
    The costs for installing Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean, outlined in a budget document obtained by Sun Media under Access to Information, include a $751,000 gala dinner hosted by Prime Minister Paul Martin. The swanky soiree included $206,000 in catering costs, $215,000 for entertainment and $10,000 for flowers.
    A special swearing-in ceremony on Parliament Hill earlier in the day, which featured a lively parade of entertainers and exotic fresh flowers, cost taxpayers $414,000.
    Kevin MacLeod, director of the state ceremonial and corporate events directorate, said the figure is “in the ballpark” of the last three ceremonies when inflation and other factors are weighed in. While there is no requirement for a flashy event, plans are designed to reflect the style of the guest of honour, he said.
    “The only prerequisite is that the oaths be administered, publicly witnessed, and there be a due degree of solemnity,” he said. >>>

  19. Maz, The Oaths of the Governor General used to be extremely serious business as the GG was the one and only fall back authority that Canadians could rely upon to do the right thing when our Federal Government morphed from public servants to thieving dictators.
    Governor General Clarkson decided to ignore the obligation of that oath and uder the cloud of proven criminal fraud, vote buying, influence peddaling and two non-confidence votes thwarted by NDP blackmail and B. Stronach ministry position for vote exchange fraud.
    While an election that should have taken place in August / September ’05 has been postponed, it is just as well since the polls show the CPC gaining poularity over time.
    Fact remains though, GG Clarkson did not carry out her sworn oath and FLQ convert Jean is just as likely to side with her benefactor Libranos rather than with Canadian Peons, you and I. TG

    Six foreign Al-Qaeda suspects killed in Pakistan blast.
    MIRANSHAH, Pakistan (AFP) – Six foreign Al-Qaeda suspects including a woman were killed when a bomb they were making exploded in Pakistan�s restive tribal region near the Afghan border, the military said.
    �It seems the explosion occurred when these people were busy making an improvised explosive device for terrorist activity,� chief military spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan told AFP on Saturday, quoting local administration officials.
    Residents said the blast happened at about 1:30 am (2030 GMT Friday) in a house near Mir Ali, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of Miranshah, the main town in the rugged tribal zone of North Waziristan. >>> via LGF

  22. Hey Mark–The Bush administration had planned to be militarily involved in the middle east before he came to power in january of 2001. It is clearly proposed in Cheney’s Global Pax American and ‘Project For The New American Century’ or PNAC. If anyone actually believes the Bush 43 administration just got bad intelligence, and ‘whoops’ invaded Iraq, they need to do a little more research before spewing this ‘whooops’ shit.

Well, Stubble J., just because Cheney proposed to get America involoved in the ME, not that I’ve ever heard of any such proposal, doesn’t mean that there was any actual plan on the part of the President to get involved. In fact, he is on record as declaring he had no such international intentions, as far as I can remember.

    Well, on Nov.11, Canadians will be asked to remember their war dead. Remember also the saying, ‘Never again’? I say never again should Canadian, American and British blood be shed in France defending their treacherous arses (well, maybe the vineyards, but nothing else).
