Are Canadian voters fooled by such blatient vote buying? Seems so if you look at all the political kickbacks of taxpayer’s own tax money. When will people learn?
Hate to say it but Ralph Klein has Ottawa beat on the taxpayer payroll list and most of them are enjoying a recent 27% increase!!?

We have a very large provincial gov’t more employees per capita than Ottawa. Ralph is disappointing these days to say the least.
I know that, as a Westerner, my feeling of alienation stems directly from the dearth of federal vampires (I mean civil servants) in Regina.
The brutal part is the editorial board of the Leader-Post seems to think this is a great idea. It saddens me to say that more than a few of my fellow citizens are worthy of the scorn and disdain the Liberals express for us in their every action.

The luxury welfare do-nothing habitats in the Northern territories – CONTROLED directly by the central government via hand-outs should be noted here. Check out the per person transfer money sent to these do-nothing outposts. The Yukon has free medicare (ie no premiums), a N. living allowance, free trips anywhere in S. Canada for all gov’t employees, a N. deduction off net taxation, free moves for transfered fed employees….Whitehorse, Yukon (where 99% of the Yukon population live) has every ‘perk’ of any southern city and it is a town of 29,000 people!! The set-up is just that , of course, a ‘set-up’!! This is the last Liberano outpost in the west and the importation of fed government voters combined with a total ban on all mining and industry ensures a stranglehold on the Liberano/NDP seat in the House of Commons – this ‘set up’ also insures Liberano cotrol over the northern part of Canada – notably, the territory bordering Alaska.
I do not know the stats on Yellowknife but Nunovit is a socialist wasteland – TOTALLY subsidized. Eastern voters you should ‘pick’ on the Fed luxury welfare states, tell Paule ‘he’ cannot afford the upkeep on his fiefdoms (er parks) in the northern territories – he must make those areas pay their own way by contributing to the national coffers with their enormous untapped mineral wealth. In this way you can avoid a show- down with Alta which you will loose.
