Blogging Libranos: Reader Input Requested

With Pol:Spy biting the dust and other housecleaning needed, I’m updating my blogroll shortly. One thing that concerns me is that Warren Kinsella has exclusive claim to all the traffic I send to the “Blogging Libranos”.
I’m planning to add a few more, and it occured to me that readers here may have some suggestions. Send them to me by email, or drop them in the comments, and I”ll take a look at them. You may suggest your own as well.

  1. i think you should link my blog. it’s really quite terrible and will not convert any of your right-wing readership.

  2. Warren Kinsella is now concentrating on his new ‘career’ as a grunge rocker. (Unfortunately, he remains in the charts for his continued brown-nosing to youknowwho.)

  3. I see your site is coming back alive after the technical problems.
Are you looking specifically for “Libranos” sites or liberal/progressive/left-wing sites?
As for blogs consciously affiliated to the Liberal Party, as Jason suggested you could start at Liblogs, but I would suggest the following from among them:
    – Jason’s own site – decidedly centre/centre-left as opposed to left, but he always has some meaty substance on his blog and he started up a whole blog on Marc Emery is a Political Prisoner
CalgaryGrit – serious comment, mixed with some humour and political “games” (like the current Greatest Canadian PM poll or the Harper Glad As Hell Tour series) and, hey, the guy has some cojones for posting in favour of the NEP
Doucheblog – always full of spice and vinegar and interesting links
LiberAlberta – has straddled the Liberal/Dipper line
    – oh heck, forget modesty, there is also Cerberus – a brilliant, eloquent and insightful take on Canadian politics and culture (or, perhaps, a longwinded windbag’s hot air, but at least we try to be civil) – be an honour to be on your blogroll
These bloggers are all affiliated with Liblogs and therefore connected or supporting in some way the Liberal Party, but I would say all take some contrarian views on what your readers would consider left-wing/Liberos politics.
If it’s just on the centre and left side of the spectrum you are looking for, tons over at Progressive Bloggeers. Two I like in particular are: Canadian Cynic; and Cathie”>http://cathiefromcanada.blogspot.com/”>Cathie from Canada – another good dose of vinegar but also linker with clearly broad internet reading interests sort of like, well, um, this site.
There are lots of us and we aren’t all fully moonbats.

  4. Kate, you are welcome to link to my blog. I have devoted my blog to debate and discussion of a wide variety of topics. As I mentioned before, I am a Libertarian; I am also socially ‘progressive’ but a dedicated fiscal conservative.
