Well, it was a nice dream for the two hours I had it. And of course, it would probably make us a lightning rod for terrorists who would regard him as a traitor to Canadian values.

He does a fine job doing what he does. He would be a terrible Prime Minister, I think he knows it as well. He wouldnt make a good cabinet minister either or MP.
He is far better at speechwriting, polemics and “thought leadership” than he is at leading people.

Perhaps I didnt write enough….no need to discuss other leadership candidates. ONLY IF SH loses the next election should you consider another leadership candidate. And Frum is the wrong choice, given that that was the question at hand (once again I dont think he would disagree)
SH may win, I hope he wins, but he wont win without laying out more compelling reasons. He is doing a fine job as leader of her majesty’s loyal opposition. But you elect governments not oppositions.
Does the MSM play a role in holding him back, sure. But as good conservatives we should be beliveing in the ability to rise above the circumstances beyond your control and driving your own destiny through choice. Blaming it on the media is a losers argument.
So once again, SH is a smart, honest, straight arrow who could be making more money contributing elswhere but has chosen to try to bring a conservative government to power in this country. He is doing “gods work” because I agree that the Liberal party has too many hands in the cookie jar and too many appointed henchmen in hudicial and enforcement positions.

The only way the Conservative Party could possibly win the next election is if they run a Syran or Iranian or Pallestinian complete with table cloth hat and who doesn’t really like the idea of freedom for the masses. Oh and if he like boys .. that would help too.

Get off it guys! It does not matter who is the leader of the CPC, they have not a chance in hell of being elected. The MSm only elects Lieberals or Fiberals . Time for the West to seriously look at separating!

I wouldn’t underestimate Frum’s mental toughness. His time spent stateside has seemed to remove the last traces of excessive Canadian-style politeness, too, so it would sure be fun to watch him addressing the Liberal legacy, point by point, in the debates.
It wouldn’t be enough, however. There are two things needed for the Conservatives to have even a slim chance: first, a good Ontario Liberal as party leader, and second, the complete shutdown of the MSM during the election campaign.
Frum always manages to give Peter Mansbridge pause for thought, and he certainly cows Puff Duffy, who usually has to cut him off in mid-sentence and switch to the talking Librano head because he doesn’t understand Frum. Michael Ignatieff as Librano$ choice? A bit too airy fairy to lead a government even if he is perfect as a Harvard professor.
If David Frum runs for CPC leader, maybe he could persuade Ann Coulter to immigrate to Toronto and become the deputy leader (smarter and much better gams than Belinda). If Mark Steyn could be signed to a minimum one-term deal he would complete the new power-trio as the governmental critic on everything and Minister-in-waiting for the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. And if they actually won an election…it would be great fun just reading all the new lib-left blog sites that would be started by all the out of work ex-CBC’ers (where everyday’s a BBQ special).
