Belinda Stronach has crossed the floor to the Liberals, with a new cabinet post her bonus.
Well, we always knew she was a Liberal – they were just hagging over the price.
I wonder if she realizes how many new Western separatists she just created today with her comments about Conservatives not understanding the “complexity” of the country? That the party must “grow in Quebec” before it’s a national party? I wonder if she understands that her defection speech will be interpreted as another slap by a self-serving and politically ambitious Ontario power broker at western aspirations to finally have an equal voice in Canada?
Probably not. The woman is that stupid.
“DT” made a comment above about Belinda Stronach “whoring” herself off to the Liberal Party of Canada. Wake up, DT! This is politics and it’s all about them, male or female! It’s not about whores or wife beaters, or racists, perverts – whatever! Men climb their way up the political ladder by deception and betrayal, just like women can do, as well. What would you call Paul Martin or Jean Chretien whose political motivations bend and twist all the time just like trees in the wind, just do they can maintain their power base? Would you call them whores as well, or is this just a term you use to shamelessly tell everyone just how much contempt and resentment you have towards powerful women, regardless of how they reach their goals?
She is a political whore, who sold her body (and vote) for a cozy cabinet position that she isn’t even qualified for. No, running daddy’s empire, doesn’t make you qualified. There should be laws against crossing the floor, you should have to remain an independent as others have done, because this just stenches of the corruption that we all already know exists within the liberal party. This is BLATANT come over and I’ve got a position for you, this is corruption at it’s worst. No other democratic country would put up with this blatant corruption, but passive Canadians will, even in the wake of the sponsorship scandal. It is pathetic that Martin is still in power, there should have been rioting in the streets until a much deserved resignation was offered by Martin. He was finance minister at the time, so you have 2 choices:
1) He knew about it and is lying through this teeth (the most likely)
2) He is incompetent, because it was his job to know about it
Either way, he should be out on his ass, and passive Canadians should be furious right now, especially now that we’ve seen him BLATANTLY buy an extension. Stronach is a political whore, and I would say the same if the same situation arose with a man, it has nothing to do with their sex.
I will NEVER vote liberal again.
